These unique Friday night paper fights are so fun to watch I hope you do more like this! The dollar store Highlander one was also one of my favorites, thanks guys! :-)
I bought all 4 of those precons back in the day. I ended up building an Aurochs deck that did pretty good at my work lunch 4+ player free for all games
The order of the damage in the Yeti's "fight" effect matters sometimes. If you gave the Yeti infect for example, it would reduce the damage it took in return. It doesn't work like a "first strike fight" though because even if it does lethal damage to the other creature, that creature doesn't die until after the ability finishes resolving.
I mean I suppose, but I don't recall any "give infect" anthem effects and how often are you gonna use your instant speed infect to make a Yeti from 2006 win a fight? But technically correct is the best kind of correct.
For deserter tokens you should get player cards of pro tour players that quit Magic to make their own card game, because everyone knows if you place high in a Pro Tour one time that qualifies you to know how to make a card game better than WotC and put things like 'Magic killer' in your box quotes.
I recieved a Card Kingdom order in 2 days! 2 days! The free shipping option was 3-7 business days! Jesus card kingdom Sad though, they were out of buttons and weren't doing custom tokens v.v
That's how I started. Man those decks were bad, luckily I had a sol ring, dark ritual, basalt monolith, hypnotic spectre, Serra angels, and sengir vampires in my ramp flyers deck. My rare was mind twist which also helped.
Some rules corrections about snow mana. First, for clarification, "snow mana" is not a type of mana. Some cards have abilities with a snow cost and this cost can only be payed by mana generated by a snow permanent. Snow mana is a shorthand for saying "this mana was generated by a snow permanent." At 1:12:07 Paul says that Iceberg is "neither a snow permanent nor produces snow land" (Probably meant snow mana given the context). This is a redundant statement because a permanent has to be a snow permanent to generate snow mana. At 53:12 Cameron mentions that Coldsteel Heart doesn't care about snow mana, but that isn't quite accurate since it generates snow mana. Not a rules correction, but on an interesting sidenote, since Rimefeather Owl turns permanents into snow permanents, you can turn a Doubling Cube into a snow permanent to generate massive amounts of snow mana at once. It was awesome to see some games with cards from that era. The Ripple deck was ridiculous compared to the others.
Hearing them talk about the rules of the Stalking Yeti hurt me a little inside. (I know how the wording works since I play Tahngarth, Talruum Hero in EDH and he has the same words.) Basically he does deal damage first but the state check to see if anything dies doesn't happen until later so it basically never matters. But if the Yeti somehow had wither or infect, that would happen immediately and the creature would shrink before it dealt damage to the Yeti. That would pretty much be the only time it matters.
I know there are a lot of testimonials from CK, but I had the opposite happen to me. Around c18 I had ordered cards for a ninja deck from Card Kingdom and another site, Face to Face games. The F2F stuff arrived before CK had even started the shipping process. I actually couldn’t play the deck at a commander tournament because I didn’t have the final pieces of my deck. I’m not mad, I just don’t want people thinking CK is always the best.
I'll agree. Like they are really great, custom tokens and buttons, sometimes fast shipping. But sometimes they don't ship very fast (I waited over a week for my WAR box), sometimes they dont make the custom tokens, and sometimes their cards are more expensive than other sites like Starcity.
the shade was still a 3/3 until the end of the turn so at the end phase when the ping ability killed it, it wouldn't have died as it was still a 3/3, I'm surprised that no one caught that misplay! so Adam should of activated the ability on his turn to kill the shade since Ben kept on pumping it during combat.
Bring back the Aurochs creature type! I just said this like two days ago on another video. Lol I also played my Aurochs deck in yellow sleeves and believe Vigor to be the lord of Aurochs.
@@rodeofrancisco6130 If you have any ideas on how to exploit them beyond spamming them with changelings and turning them sideways I'd be very interested to hear. R/G is how I'm pursuing it at the moment,
@@tombrown407 I started considering making an oathbreaker deck with them but unfortunately yeah, the changelings are about the only thing I can think of too.
Or just keep shroud around. Hexproof should only exist on stuff like dive down or knight of malice/grace where it's either conditional, temporary, or both.
Wow. That Blue/White deck seems way more powerful than the other intro deck. Poor Graham. I’ll check back here if somehow Adam doesn’t win this whole thing.
At the end now and I’m not surprised by this outcome. Adam’s deck has the card selection, efficient creatures, and removal on its side. Especially compared to the jank that made up Graham and Cam’s decks.
I ordered from cardkingdom and another card store at the same time (literally 5min difference). They both shipped same day and the other one came first first. So there.

It was first presented as though that was true, but it was soon revealed that it wasn't actually true. There was never a lost file. The reason that Ice Age didn't have a third set was that the 3 set block wouldn't be invented until Mirage.
Wait. Didn't Cam have a hard lock with Insidious Bookworms, Skull Catapult and Grim Harvest? I mean, he needed more lands, but that seems like a combo that never lets Ben have another card right?
Nice video. Love seeing old stuff as I got into MTG from Origins. Rules question regarding Kjeldoran Gargoyle. If it were to be given lifelink, would it gain life twice as the card text doesn't state lifelink?

That's my favourite episode as well! We need moar!
Yeah, it's really cool to see more of Magic's really neat cards that don't see play elsewhere. It's refreshing in a way.
@@Alittlefruitgoesalongway Amen!
Dollar Store Highlander was the bomb
Ooohh the nostalgia of those box designs! Those were the products that brought me to magic. I'm sad they got rid of the color indicators on the front.
Wait... Coldsnap is old enough for people to be nostalgic about it? I feel so old now...
My best friend started playing magic with the aurochs deck and he still loves them. He was really happy when i showed him this.

A Duchy of Decks.
Also Nantuko Husk is a meat breather from Onslaught. Not sure that is the first but it is much earlier than Rise of the Eldrazi.
It might be because it's 1am and I'm quite tired, but butt-breathing is cracking me up

Which ordering speed did you choose? The 3-5 day one or the 5-7 day one?
And there's the whole thing that sometimes the cards come from other sources and not CK themselves, which further slows down the process sometimes.

I had the Snowscape deck and it was pretty good but my friend who had the Aurochs usually stomped it over.
I really feel like these old crappy abilities could still work somewhat if they were not so wordy and more open.

Hexproof loses Hexproof when targeted isn't all that bad of an idea. It means the opponent gets to respond to you trying to buff it.

Objectively cams deck is INSANE. The problem is it's only insane with damage on the stack. Otherwise it kind doesn't worm
I appreciated the Monster Hunter joke! Love you guys :D
Ben your card snapping is really loud for me when I wear head phones.
[edit] ah no Adam responded by making his card snapping louder!
That's just cold snapping!
Adam constantly humming the Monster Hunter theme is making me want to play more. Its 1/16/21. Holding out till MH Rise.

Why didn't he just block the 2/3 with both his 2/1 first strikes
in that case a 2/3 vs a 2/1 the 2/3 lives with 2 damage on it and the 2/1 dies.

So, no Pre-Prerelease for Horizons?
My name's Colin. Hey, Adam! :)
I wouldn't worry too much about the taxes, come october were all gonna be american.
But.. its monday..
This channel primarily streams I beleive, so it's very possible that it was streamed Friday and then took until Monday to be uploaded to UA-cam.
This is real magic, not using overpowered cards like terminus, true name Nemesis, emrakul, etc.
Who else thinks, terminus should be banned in Modern?
Dude, these cards are awful. If all the cards power go up, then it's all even powerwise, so it doesn't matter
