I mean tell me what strategically you'd rather take. A shot to the body in a zone that will at most sting...or the chance you'll hit into an out. One gets you a assured base. The other may score you an out. I'm the player, I'm taking that base. That's a potential run that way that I wouldn't likely be if I tried to hit the ball.

it would great to get into the mind of a ptcher to know when they hit a batter, are they more concerned for them or if the batter swung/ gave a walk
