I live in Sweden. Back in 2000 Albert Lee played in my home town. Albert and his band had played in Norway the night before and they were hit by a snowstorm on the way to Sweden. They were 2 hours late for the concert and had been driving for hours. Me and some other people at the concert helped Albert and his band carry all the equipment inside. In no time Albert and his band were ready to play. They must have been really tired after hours on the road in terrible weather. They went up on stage without any soundcheck and played for over 2 hours. AMAZING !! The concert was great and Albert and his band were absolutely amazing. I have the deepest respect for this man. One of the best guitar players in history and a wonderful personality.

Clapton has always had the spotlight on him but he has always tried to shine the spotlight onto others. Clapton didn't care to share a record with Duane Allman, Albert Lee, Doyle Bramhall, and others. When I saw him last September in Nashville he played great and gave a ton of time to Doyle as well and then for the encore he brought out Marcus King and just stood back and let him wear it out. I love Clapton so much and any guitar Rushmore is incomplete without him.

79 was the year I went to see Clapton not having much clue about Albert .But when I’ve heard him playing I was floored! Don’t remember him playing LP but definitely remember his Tele . That was the day I fell in love with this guitar and today it is still my #1 guitar. Love Albert Lee . One of a kind! Hi is a legend.

The first time I saw Albert was with the Muddy Waters/Eric Clapton tour in '78. That night in Chicago there were a few guest musicians sitting in through out the night. Willie Dixon and Johnny Winter, but I gotta admit Albert Lee's playing was a total stand out! He didn't overplay anyone he was just that damn good. I never heard of him before that night. If you think about it, Muddy, Eric, Johnny Winter, Bob Margolin, playing in Chicago and Albert Lee was hanging in there! Hell, Clapton was playing slide half the night on Blackie, a rare treat!

Very nice guy and great player! My band opened for Carlene Carter in the early ‘90’s and Albert signed my Tele after playing it. Said it played as easy as a Les Paul. I setup guitars. It was an honor that he played it and signed it! That and another Tele signed by Brent Mason!

Albert's rock guitar solo's we're something to hear while Clapton
played rhythm guitar. Seeing Ry Cooder up their too, made
the three way playing spectacular. The Money & Cigarette's tour.
Albert Lee is a melodic shredder. Eric Clapton played all
of his solo's opposite Albert a 1,000% better than his other bands.
Albert Lee pushed Clapton to play much better lead guitar.
I heard his (EC's)long slow blues solo intro to Wonderful Tonight and
its was Jeff Beck 'Pork Pie Hat' slow, sweet and melodically
beautiful with really amazing bending and vibrato.

Back in the old days (grandpa is telling..) we didn’t have pa and no inear or monitors, so you need to have a big amp to play the whole venue and put your 100 watt Twin on top of two crates of beer so you could hear yourself play on top of the drums (no mics so using the backend of the sticks) and the 200 watt basplayer..😬 in Holland we call it “eardrum shredding loud” You can imaging that after 40 years of rock and roll I m deaf as a doornail... and NOW I got in ears hahaha
