I wish everyone who comes across this would actually read the Private Urban Development plan. Out of the 50 some acres in this plan, only 1.75 acres were designated for affordable housing. Even more so, the company that the government was contracting for the plan wasn't even going to build the affordable housing, it was literally just set aside for future development. Dave Chapelle has been protesting this bill since December. This is a total media hit job, and very poorly researched.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The developers said it would be affordable apartments and duplexes for multi family use then they switched to non affordable single family home plots which is just a trick to make money for a giant developer. Dave is NOT against affordable housing!

Report the news correctly. When homes cost 250K to 600K that's not affordable housing. DC and his neighbors have no issue with affordable housing. Be more responsible with your reporting.

I didn't know affordable housing was 300k and up for single person houses... In the original corporate BS for this was about three sections under that and rest as said average 300k and up. While literally advertising Dave's on area as a setting...
There wasn't no affordable housing and most of the citizens like Chappelle was against this... It was propaganda to up end the current community by a big housing market again trying to sell single house rooms for 300k average... Good job doing little news in actual reporting accurate information about this...

Nice Terminology - 'Affordable Housing Development'
    They mean, a HOUSING PROJECT!
And what invariably happens at these lower income Housing Projects, where tenants will never own their own houses/apartments?
They turn into crime, drug and violence ridden slums!
I lived near the Aliso Village Housing Project in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles - it was the worst slum in the city!
Finally, the city tore it down and created the Pueblo del Soul 'workforce housing' that were small, detached houses that could be purchased by lower and middle income owners. Violent Crime and Murders went way down.

Also even though we perceive the news’ job as bringing us correct news, In reality their job is to get clicks, views, and watchtime. I can and will tell everyone most of these poor people really are poor by choice. They don't work, their drug addicts by choice, they live off the system, they leave trash everywhere, are violent, often mentally ill.

Maybe look up the facts before speaking yourself. Dave lives there and in a open forum can speak. He was like majority in the community against it. It wasn't about affordable housing either as that was corporate propaganda.
Look into the failed contract denied that Dave, most of the community, and half the council was against. The "affordable" housing was only stated vaguely as 3 units out of hundreds and most being sold for low as 250k and up to 600k. Besides the housing company pushing this without consent of residents and before the denial by council. Was advertising Dave's backyard as a part to over sell single unit housing..
In essence the only out of touch and greedy was the housing company trying to use financial influence themselves on council. Dave in his own community has given millions to the schools and local businesses. He literally is a pillar in his own community and you being ignorant to that and damming him is corporate propaganda.

For one reason it wasn't affordable as average housing being suggested for a single person unit was 250k-300k low with high up to 600k out of the 300+ units being talked. Only three housing units was being suggested for future low income and no indication on price.
The company pushing this that failed also advertised without Dave or other community consent. His and others local homes as advertising before the city council decided against it. They also the city council was half in half though the majority of residents was against the plans as brought. The only wealthy out of touch was the not Dave, but the housing company who also started the smear campaign on him after failing.
Dave also has kept his community funded during the entire pandemic from schools, local businesses, and being a vocal community member at the community council meetings. In essence you are falling for corporate propaganda because of the lie of "affordable" housing and not mentioning why Dave and the community was against it.
