Fascinating concept about crossing a river. I was immediately reminded of the old Greek stories of crossing the rivers in the afterlife. There is obviously more to the classic tales than has been alluded to!
I don't know, maybe "what'll happen to us after death" is not a question right now as important as "what're we doing with this gift called life".

Some people are sceptical about these teachings because they experience this world only through their five senses. Even then living a wholesome life which benefits yourself as well as the others will bring you happiness in this present life too.
I rather believe various people’s NDE because they are all very consistent. Also these NDE makes me feel hopeful about meeting my loved ones who have passed away.

Just having an answer does not mean he is correct. The many videos of people having a direct experience (NDE) are more trustworthy than this phony "guru" who does not embody awakeness/enlightenment in his often angry speeches/talks.
I have not really followed the prayer for the dead. I felt that too much emphasis was placed in the dead rather than the living. My granny used to say, “don’t bring a whole lot of flowers to a funeral, give the flowers now while the person is still alive”. Life is complicated, the best I can do is treat all of Gods creation with respect and love, whatever happens when I transit is up to God. In recent years I have chosen to do the prayer to give respect and gratitude to my loved ones that have transitioned. Earth schools us on LOVE

I think it’s good to see some NDE videos to know what happens after death. Lot of people have died bodily and medically and come back after some time to resume their lives and have recorded what they experienced in the interim. It’s somewhat different from this I think.

surprisingly or not, I have found many parallels and similar spiritual/metaphysical concepts, ideas and parables and common linkages between the ancient Hindu spiritual tradition and ancient Jewish spiritual tradition, mainly in the sacred hidden realm of the esoteric teachings in both great traditions and likewise also Buddhism shares some common fundamental things with Judaism but a dicerning mind is required in order to acknowledge this.
the concept and imagery of a "river" exist in Judaism as well and is called in Aramic "Nahar di-nur" translated "the river of fire" - a metaphorical term that shares much resemblance with the "river" in the Brahamic tradition.
to my best knowledge, the "river" has a parallel also in the Islamic tradition mainly in the esoteric teachings of Sufism - the inner spiritual dimension of the religion (din) known as "Taswaf" or islamic mysticism which shares much in common with jewish mysticism known as Kabbalah and its later development in the teachings of Hasidism.

Sadhguru just gave a brief glimpse, if he expound details on this concept, many would either not able to comprehend or will raise questions as it won't fit to their rational mind. We all have to do our sadhna if we really want to deepen our understanding about death. But regardless, sooner or later we all are going to experience it personally.

When I was a child I heard a person asking one of my close relative (whose father expired) to donate a healthy cow to the Brahmin (performing the sardha rituals) so that the departed soul can easily cross the river 'Baitarani' holding the tail of the cow .
I am telling you what I heard may be as a ten year boy.
Now no body will believe it or laugh it out. Everybody will nowadays recommend a Motorised boat in place of cow.
