We have a saying here in America, "Family comes first, second, and third." Your videos are already extremely helpful to people that want to learn more about Japan as well as visiting. My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon in Japan and it's thanks to your tireless efforts that we were able to both enjoy ourselves as well as adapt to the many different customs in Japan.

I understand what you are going through. I have six children in total. I have been married twice. We had four children together. The youngest and last is three and half. He gets into everything and climbs on everything. His sleep habit is off to where he takes naps in the afternoon but will sleep about two hours at night then wakes up until 4 to 6 am. Children are a gift and a blessing. I would not change anything.

    • @happycook6737
      @happycook6737 4 місяці тому +1

You can change that child's sleep habit. Plan an activity away from home when the kid usually tries to sleep. Like a visit to the Mall's free play area, etc. Prevent the kid from sleeping. It will take about a week of consistency. When I was a young teacher I was a nanny for 2 years. Problem 1: a 9 month old baby the parents rocked and cajoled to sleep from 9pm to midnight! 🤯😱, Problem #2: 3 year old sibling allowed to fall into daytime sleeping habit for many hours. I fixed both in 1 week. Young children need a strict eating/sleeping/play schedule.

If you'd like a simple Shorts idea, if you don't want to completely go on hiatus/silent for this channel - you could just talk about Japanese kotowaza, kan'yōku, or yojijukugo now and then.
20 seconds to say the voiceover about it's meaning with simple background pictures.
You'd still be sharing small bits about Japanese language and culture through terms like 「小春日和」or 「狐の嫁入り」:)

In Psychology, they often say children didn't have conscious/logical memory for the first 3 years of their lives. Which means that memory goes into their subconscious mind, which is indeed essential in shaping their experience as a person, even when they grow up... So i feel that saying is indeed very apt.
It's great that you do have a life outside of this channel. Do what you need to and everything will fall into place!

I understand that feeling of not spending enough time with your kiddos (just a single kiddo for me) because you have to do work at home, but then you stress about falling behind in your work to spend enough time with your kiddos.
It is such a special kind of torture, because you don't feel like you're doing enough in either aspect and are constantly feeling bad about yourself for not "doing more". I have been in your shoes.
You both are incredible and deserve a break, because you are only human and there is only so much you can do. Focus on your family, raise those beautiful children with lots of love from us to all of you!
I hope Zen starts sleeping better, Nagi's terrible twos will eventually go away (I promise), and you won't regret spending more time with your kids. They'll only get bigger!

Children definitely take a lot of work and attention. Having two girls myself I completely relate. I'm glad you are making sure to take care of your family first as that is very important. You are definitely not alone in the struggle. My youngest is in her terrible threes... I look forward to seeing your videos when you do come back in April.

    Yo! Long time no see!
I kind of figured that offline life had gotten really busy for you guys. I mean, with the kids, the two channels, the offline work, and all of the training, it was kind of expected. But you honestly don't need to apologize.
It might not mean much from some text on the internet, I hope that you guys are able to find some time for yourselves so that you can mentally and physically take a breath. Burn out is nothing to play with.
Until then, I will be catching up on the videos from Seki-sensei's channel and the podcast... see you guys in April and please take care of yourselves!

You are so busy and very talented as well. I have seen a few of your videos but being kind busy as well I haven't followed like I wanted to. I recently found your videos with Seki Sensei. My wish is to visit Japan some day, my late mother was from Fukuoka. Living in rural Wisconsin I never got to learn about Japanese culture so I was attracted to your channel. Be healthy, enjoy your family and I look forward to April. Until then I can binge watch and catch up while I continue to play with swords.

Hello Shogo! Could you please make a video where you compare the difference, test them and then explain your personal opinion, between: Hyojun, Imo, Ryugo? Maybe dig a little deeper and first go meet a master who owns all three versions and can explain the differences to us and why they are different, before you test them yourself, cut some mats with them and give us your opinion. That would be a really cool video!

I love and care for you both so much, because your generosity transmit through the screen. All we want is for both to be happy and grounded with your family especially. We will be here for whenever you guys are ready!
Shogo, take your time to heal your body, you are such a joyful person, let that heal you and relax you. Harumi, beautiful as always, you're a breath of fresh air and always have that sweet, gentle calmness to you it's verry satisfying. I'm excited to see what's new with your learning experience with kimonos and dances. Hinata, Nagi and Zen are the cutest! Both are in the right path to prioritize family, cherish every single moment and make the most fun memories for the 5 of you ❤.
Love and blessings from your little friend in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🫂🥰

9:40 I literally use your bulleted list style to explain things to people now. It was really helpful hearing someone speak that way. And my birds especially look forward to it because they know it's 1) Bocha bocha so you get clean; 2) Dry so you don't get sick; 3) Bocha bocha treatos 😂
At least in my family, you guys will always be remembered. It was so cool learning about Japan so I could know why my family does certain things. ❤
