I can see that you take losing pretty hard. I'm the same honestly. I've taken an indefinite hiatus from chess because the losing streaks get me down too much. I just want to say that, win or lose, I learn a lot from watching your games. Thanks for the content man.
I don't think I've ever met anyone who was great at anything that didn't hate losing. All players at this rank are in the top 0.02% of chess players, and you don't get that good at anything without an unhealthy reaction to losing.
Hello Nelson, thank you for your instructive games. Just wondering if you could use the evaluation bar when you do game reviews. They really help put things in perspective.
Thanks for the videos, Nelson! It might be two-fold, by the way: both potential stream-sniping and human psychology (it differs when you know you are getting looked at). You provide lots of good stuff, so please just try to relax and chess :)
Nelson I felt that when you lost that knight at 42:20. Love how you respond in a lighthearted way tho, chess is extremely frustrating sometimes for everyone
For the Exceptional Fork merch, you can try a Knight with a chef’s hat maybe with a fork in the background. Signifies that the Knight is cooking with Exceptional Forks
😅49:25 isent Nf6 the mainline in alapin sicilian, if i dont remember wrong its played slightly more on gm level according to lichess database. Ofc d5 is the other main line so to speak. Those are the 2 most common played moves. I play d5 herev tho, has a tricky line there that scores pretty well. 1:28:20 think you have to find Rf6 here to prevent f5, right? If so... Easy to say later, not so easy to find this with so little time.
Re :comment above - yeah , of course Nelson takes losing hard lol , nobody likes to lose , remember though, he's making conversation with us at the same time and playing moves that will give us learning lessons , sometimes sacrificing winning. Way to go Nelson, - its not who wins the game, it's how you play that counts ( kidding ) ... 50 ways to Cook your Rice -- new chess book coming out. 😆
Now the guy on the ad says I can become wildly successful at anything by quantum jumping into different versions of myself. Like that movie I guess. Should I be skeptical?
In the first game, after black's ne5, when you asked what your good move was I actually thought you could sacrifice the bishop with check...but I'm very low rated so it's maybe not good for some reason?
Then black plays Nxf7 and has two extra pieces. White can get one piece back with Qe2+ Be7 dxe7 but now there's nothing tangling up black's pieces - he'll be able to castle and develop normally. White is down a full piece with no compensation.
@@vempele7966 Ah damn, I missed the knight covering the f7 square. They do say backwards moves are harder to spot but I think I should've seen that. Oh well. Thank you for your reply.
Wait, at 1:53:00 or so, that draw...couldn't he have just moved his king to C3 and gotten a win on time? That could have gone from a win to lose very quickly I think!
It's the game review, the probability of winning based off your material and position. The probability changes after each move, so the graph changes over time.
@Man20045 exceptional fork was a nickname of his recent opponent, who was cheating. And now Nelson calls a knight fork as "an exceptional fork". I like how these simple things like nickname of an opponent, or the history of his lost match can become a long-term meme on this channel. And Nelson still remembers his defeat against rice-cooking opponent
Nelson think about streaming this way. You spend your mental capacity on leading the stream and explaining your thought process. Obviously it’s dragging your effective rating down. Try playing with 200-300 lower rated opponents while streaming to account for this.
I'm one of your students Nelson but, can I say something if you don't mind? you strike me as a safe chess player, you are not an aggressive player, you seem to think defensive not offensive, again : I am one of your students and I'm proud of it.
Probably also cheating. Relatively new account, was a 3-digit rating when they started playing 2.5 years ago. Pretty unlikely to be 2300 today after so few games
Hey nelson The first guy stream snipes every single livestream.... He is in all your livestreams.... Thats why you get in bad positions against him every time.
What are you gonna do? What are you gonna do? Please stop repeating yourself. Please stop repeating yourself. You need to keep moving. You keep getting yourself way behind on the clock. 4 minutes behind in a 10 minute game with Queens still on the board, then you start blitzing out moves because you have to and end up blundering. Analyze quickly, check for blunders and move immediately. I enjoy watching your videos but it's hard to watch and learn anything when you run out the clock and have to pre-move everything.
Because he always watches for when Nelson plays so he can stream snipe while he plays him. No matter the day, Nelson always magically gets paired with Alex, weird huh?
I have seen players who play fast. And actually they play really good moves. If one guy plays like this, he is definitely cheater, but I have seen so many people.

I play bots. If I lose I just start over. I'm 400 elo but winning 1500 bots. Haha
@@Goliath-pp5ctsame, doesn’t feel bad losing to the CPU lol highest bot I beat was 1800, elo 737

Hello Nelson, thank you for your instructive games. Just wondering if you could use the evaluation bar when you do game reviews. They really help put things in perspective.
The cognitive load of streaming on top of playing is why it feels different. Respect for the fact you do so well despite this.
That Halloween gambit is nasty.

yo man 1.30 that game, you played really well dude i can see why its a tough one. only found you recently man i really like your content thanks :)

Is it that far away?
For the Exceptional Fork merch, you can try a Knight with a chef’s hat maybe with a fork in the background. Signifies that the Knight is cooking with Exceptional Forks
The exceptional fork graphic should be a dinner fork serving some rice.
Yeah, guess do until someone invents the “spoon” tactic. 😢
At 36:07 and 48:00 you missed QxB5, free pawn that would become Queen or Rook and save many complications. Why would you not take it?
10am here. Fell asleep last night watching some of your content.
Halloween gambit the most underrated one🔥
Agreed. My win rate is 65-70% with it (1100 level)
@@QDWhite that's really good i have like a +60% win rate. I'm currently 2095 on rapid

Does anyone know what the chess set is in the background to Nelson's left? 🙂

Snackrifice, nice one
Nelson is slowly building a new religion around the halloween gambit.
Rough day in the office, that's how it is for most of us on a regular basis 😅😂😂
Can someone explain how to interpret the graph Nelson shows after a game?
It's the game review, the probability of winning based off your material and position. The probability changes after each move, so the graph changes over time.

The exceptional fork should be an octopus knight forking everything... Rooks Bishops Queen and King.
As an active viewer of this channel I know what is an exceptional fork, and the history of "ricecooking"
I know about the rice cooking one....but can you elaborate about exceptional fork one?
@Man20045 exceptional fork was a nickname of his recent opponent, who was cheating. And now Nelson calls a knight fork as "an exceptional fork". @@chess26622 I think Exceptional fork person was not cheating. You mixed up
2:12:30 also, the reason why you're A LOT better in this position is because his knight is actually trapped.
Only as long as your king doesn't move, and your bishop stays on that diagonal...
Exceptional fork is when the knigth forks the king, queen, both rocks, a bishop and two pawns, and can only be taken if it takes the queen...
Or maybe I should call that The Ultimate Fork?
You are the best
I won one like 25:35 the other day. Opponent totally missed mate in two. 🤷♂️
