Exactly. Nelson has the ability to slow the time down. When I think like he does, I suddenly spend 7 minutes making a single move. And in my brain I am fast as a rocket and smart as Pia Cramling. The reality disagrees though.
But doing what he does helps me significantly, with careful consideration. Although my brain is not as good as his when it comes to calculating every good move, especially in the middle game, I spend much more time than my opponent apparently. As a result, I usually make fewer blunders than my opponent. Still, I do have to adjust my strategy a bit due to time pressure, often simplifying after gaining a material advantage and playing for an advantageous endgame.
Nelson I love your channel. You have helped me cross the 800 mark. Currently trying to reach 1000. I watch all your videos fully. Your way of explaining is easy to understand. Best chess teacher.
Hey nelson I would really love to see a game involving the Vienna opening, maybe the Vienna gambit as well? Thanks for the instructive video as always.
The Vienna Gambit is probably my favorite opening for white, I love how as soon as the opponent accepts it’s a big mistake and after castling your rook is ready to go with no pawn in the way, super fun and aggressive opening :)
Thank you for including the game with a mouse slip. It can be so frustrating to have that happen, but you handled it with patience and grace. Great games.
Hey Nelson. Watching you play on my lunch break has not only boosted my rating by at least 200 points but its a relaxing escape from my stressful job. It is a important part of my daily routine. Keep making great content
That last game 🤯 Well played, even with a mouse slip. You and Eric Rosen had a very similar reactions, haha. He mouse slipped in one of his recent speed runs. Such a heart dropping moment!
I'm new to the channel and I have been through all your rating climbs over the last two weeks! For me, these kinds of videos are a valuable way to enhance my chess playing. Thank you so much for doing that. Can I suggest the English opening? I don't think I've seen it anywhere on your channel.
18:36 if ne6 then then bxe6 if black captures with the f pawn then we have qh5 and if black captures with the d pawn then qxd8 kxd8 and then nxf7 forking the king and the rook
I posted last episode that the guy changed his name, and additionally they closed their account almost immediately after the video was released last week!
12:50 how would c6 play in this position? Gives your queen A5 as a square to chase the king if they move towards the center of the board and creates a little pawn chain
love your content, I wish I could take my time a bit more to keep a better overview. (then I get in time issues near the end) I guess keep on practicing ;-) it's fun to watch you play and give clear info on what to watch out for, not like in 5 steps, but stay calm and look at what is happening right now... just wait for the blunder 👏
Nex5 is really fun and strong because after ...Ne6 we play Bxe6 and depending on the recapture were either checking Qh5+ or QxQ and then the knight fork
Hi Nelson, In the first game, you could have gone with the three knights petrov as well. I would have loved to see that. And I even more would have loved to see a (more) classical variety of the Petrov defense as I am now howevering around 800 elo and virtually nobody plays the classical, but they all turn it into the three knights game, Urusov gambit, Paulsen attack, Cozio, French attack or Cochrane gambit.
Thanks for another instructive video , interesting that " Johnathan Langley " ( got tired of autocorrect 😤) was rated 100 points above average joe ! Quite unusual at that rating level !! Good job he's really a NM 😂
Great videos man, thanks a lot. Voting for Nimzo Indian defence and Karo-kann until you play m :D These are the first two openings I learned for black, one against E4 and one against D4 so you can basicly always play one of these as black (that was my thought)
Hi Nelson next time an opponent starts with e4 (and follows with d4 and Nc3) can you try the Czech Pirc Defence please? That's the d6, Nf6, c6, Qa5 variation.
The Nxe4 tactic is the reason I eventually gave up 4-knights games, usually I'll prefer placing bishop on c4, and I don't like the fact that black can force a knight trade
When you play, the game appears pretty predictable but that's your unique style that makes it look so simple but when we are on boards we could actually feel the heat n aren't at ease as much I feel while watching you play!! But it really helps ameliorate as a player!! Your tutorials have truly been helping us in mastering so many things that we actually need to, to become atleast an average player, I hope I could master the unwavering calmness that is ostensible in your style of play!!
Maybe I should add Busch Gass gambit, Traxler Variation to the list to force you to play Nf6 when opponent declines Busch Gass with Italian? Yes it’s not a very good move but any opponent in this rating range accepting it would get slaughtered.
i know you don't like the French defense, but i would love a video on it. I usually play it (not very well) instinctually, as black, but not great playing against it as white. I'm only 889 blitz, so anything from you would help!
If anyone is curious the bishop coming out at first is not actually a mistake if you play it right. After black jumps in and takes your pawn with his knight you take his knight wth yours, he plays the pawn fork, you drop your bishop back to defend your knight and when pawn takes knight bishop takes pawn and you've both lost a pawn and a knight but you have a knight and bishop out while he has a pawn and knight out. Is it perfect? No you still want to avoid this just because it's even you don't want to be even with black but you lose no material
You really had messed up with that knights move, but the opponent failed to capitalize n maximize on that mouse slip, you regained the momentum with best moves which have truly been the reason behind your supremacy, you barely panic n always have alternatives to rectify your mistakes in time, you've got plenty of tactics which assures you recovery during critical moments, it's exceptional n incredible at the same time!!
Maybe im missing something here, but after your mouse slip and white took your knight, did you move your bishop ? To me it looks like their knight could take your queen for free ?
When a game ends there is an initial screen showing mistakes, blunders, etc. However the game review screen often differs, Many times the 1st screen shows mistakes that are not not on the second
See the Chess Vibes video from a year ago (Aug 2023) called "we need to talk about this" about an email sent by the friend of a suspected cheater, why Nelson had suspicions of cheating, and how he doesn't want his viewers to harass suspected cheaters.

Too bad you didn’t get a do over like Agadmator did today in his game he moved his Queen one short of where he wanted to go to avoid the knight taking it but he moved it right into the fork his opponent let him do over it was an honest mistake
I imagine they saw that they got caught. Changed their username so they can use it ona different account later and then closed the cheater acc before they got taken down and ip banned
and to add on to the other comment: average joe is a speedrun account given by the website, meaning anyone that loses to it gets their points right back and you can see the owner of the account (in this case nelson) listed on its page.
About the cheater: Maybe they saw your video? Maybe your fans made their life difficult for them? Strange anyway! Still hoping for Dutch Leningrad, btw ;-)
Man who’s really good at chess beats man who’s terrible at chess. Next video I’m going to watch is Novak Djokovic playing a rank amateur tennis player and explaining how his opponent can’t return 120mph serves.

He calculates in a 10-minute game as if he's playing a 30-minute game, while my 10-minute games feel like bullet! 😂

exactly how I feel 😄
It all comes with practice, not immediately

Great idea. Vienna Gambit and Rousseau Gambit (which is kind of a reversed Vienna).
Same
The Vienna Gambit is probably my favorite opening for white, I love how as soon as the opponent accepts it’s a big mistake and after castling your rook is ready to go with no pawn in the way, super fun and aggressive opening :)
My favourite opening for white too

The cheater from last time found his username going viral, and fell on his sword. It happened almost immediately after you posted the video.
Nervous the whole video for the mouse slip 😂
I was paranoid of him accidentally moving a random piece while he was commenting on the back rank mate threat
46:19 - Nelson: "I have a more powerfull move. Do you see it guys what is is ?"
me: pawn f6, avoiding back rank check mate 😅
Lol

Yeah, i saw that one too. Nelson got lucky though, Eric's slip was fatal.
Nelson: "game review is down ? I want to see my blunder" 🤣
in your place I didn't wanted to see it 😅

5:44 i would haave pushed the pawn to e4. and he would not castle anymore ;))
i like this. he explains fully what could happen. and it's like irl chess. unlike just showing a Tactic/opening.
@17:57 I need to come back and study this opening. I've had this numerous times and always forget to sac my bish😅 😢
sacking your bishop isn’t the best move according to the fish, though it’s close; the best move is actually just to capture on e5
@@alexwangombe8534 but what's the fun in that 🤔 I like that he goes for the fun moves. We are here for the drama

51:54 - this could be another obtion for the magic wheel, when you play Martin bot 😂
This "fried liver defense" is an "fried liver accelarator " you get something similar but with Queen and knight IT is more potent.
My memory is bad, but I like watching your channel.
You explain well.
Thank you.

Because you were playing a human that became the most tactically beautiful mouse slip I’ve ever seen.
Ahhh man that mouse slip tho crazy stuff 😂
31:22 Bc5 looks to me to be something of a checkmate in at least 5
Mouse slip gambit opening
can you do a goring gambit (2 pawn sacrifice line)
15:40 not a skewer.... queen takes but the attack still looks deadly
15:45 I think you missed that the queen could’ve just taken the bishop
is "offer them to play the evan's gambit" a possible request?
Why in the first game he cant move the pawn on C3?
i've only done one mouse slip in my life and that was castling one spot instead of moving the king two
Hey! Awesome games.
Let's go Sicilian for white, then for Black
15:43 Nelson would have blundered his bishop. It's not a skewer as the white queen would take the bishop
I've mouse slipped with mate in 1 on the board. After that I switched to always clicking on the square I want to move to!
how about an instructional video on optimal play settings, (hint Move method->Drag pieces only😂)

cheater count. the reason why it's called rice is because it's a reference to something that happened during his previous rating climb series.
