- ... well, not quite. We did however do one heck of an upgrade to an Epiphone SG while modeling it after a $3200.00 Gibson SG Custom. The work was tedious but totally worth it. This guitar is the most hot rodded Epiphone you could ever hope to get your hands on. Am I saying it can outplay the true Gibson Custom, of course not! But I didn't spend $3200.00 dollars either, and this guitar plays like a dream.

Amazing video man!
900w soldering iron is overkill. Lol
You made me wanna do something similar, then realized the goth special is near impossible to find lol
I'm from Chile (Southamerica) so i got the last one in "mercado libre".
What pickups did you replace them with?
Gibson classic 57's
Cool project but why didnt you start with a set neck epi?
Was for a friend. Was their guitar. They wanted to pretty much put a V8 engine in their stock Ford Fiesta with this one and we thought itd be fun. And it plays great
Was the biggest impact on tone due to the pickups or the whole electronics upgrade in general? I picked up a similar epi for 80 bucks and I'm basically going to do something similar to it. I got it to set up for a different gauge of strings and to have fun with. I'm going to order some cts pots anyways maybe I'm just fishing for pickup choices I guess
@@bolerdweller pickups definitely make the biggest difference but running quality capacitors and better pots from a resistance standpoint definitely help
@@METALHEADDADLIFE that makes sense, less resistance, more coming through. The sound of the finished guitar sounds hotter and more clear. What pickup in the bridge?
@@bolerdweller Gibson 498T in Gold
