It never ceases to amaze me how people can pay 40 bucks to see Trivium live and just stand there like they're waiting for the bus or something. How can you NOT get enchanted by the energy of a life show and mosh or headbang like crazy?
I love Trivium to death and have seen them 4 times. When I'm at the show, I sometimes just get lost in the music and stand there! it's not because I am not enjoying the show... I am seriously just getting lost in their performance and am watching every detail of it. That's not to say I don't bang my head and cheer them on though.
I definitely get where you're coming from. I saw them live last year, and I was moshing and headbanging from the first second on instead of trying to "seize the moment". It took me weeks after that to even recall the setlist they played, but during the concert there was no way I could stand still. I just couldn't. It was still totally worth it though and I'm gonna see them again in april!
For me personally, Metal is primarily about raw energy being released in the most badass way possible. So when that energy is let loose in concert it's hard for me to imagine that someone might not be affected by it, or at least in such an entirely different way.
Some people like myself that used to be very active at concerts have ruined our bodies in one way or another (years of manual labor resulting in a back injury for me) making it hard to be as active at a show. I still enjoy going and will continue to do so even if it bums others out that I mostly just head bang a bit. I'm glad others were able to impress the band.
I know you're a busy man, being on tour and all, but I would have no problem with you continuing to share your experiences this way!! I've been following Alex's tour diaries as well, and it's just so cool to see these guys that I idolize show me just how normal they really are.

Matt, when you come to Mobile Alabama you need to go across the bridge over to Daphne and take a right getting off 1-10 into Daphne and come down 98 all the way till you get to a town called Fairhope. We have many restaurants with different varieties of food and there is one in Point Clear that is a little past Fairhope on the bay view it's called The Wash house. The have excellent food!

Best show I've ever seen was right after shogun came out and Matt was screaming the whole show jumping and running around it was crazy!! There was a fucking guy in a wheel chair in the pit and then was carried around the pit! After the show havin a smoke outside one of the buses and Corey walks out and we casualy chatted about football. London, canada!
