Your ability to be as receptive to the spectrum of music you preview; is OUTSTANDING ! Enjoy your channel! Keep it up please !
I’m really confused as to why… nothing in it that you can’t see on regular tv… 🙄
You guys are fantastic,I had more fun watching your reactions that being disracted by that video 😂🤣😆 I saw it when it came out. 🤘🤦♀️
It was just a FUN song . Especially when your partying and drinking. Back in the day thats mainly what it was all about, laughing, partying, everyone just having a fun a$$ time.
Warrant's 3rd album Dog Eat Dog is one of the greatest albums that most people haven't heard.
This album is what they always wanted to be doing from what I heard. I love Dog Eat Dog
I love that record
Never understood why this song is so disliked, I love it. Catchy and memorable.
ua-cam.com/video/BHcUTu2xxwY/v-deo.html
Even Janie hated it
Poison's entire catalog were Cherry Pies.
@@Rosario_Verano I LOVE Poison, one of the best live bands I've ever seen. If you can't have fun at a Poison gig, you must be dead!
@@metalbearuk Was my first concert. Had a blast. Whiskey drunk 14 year old 😂
One of the greatest stripclub hymns.

Love that dichotomy!
along with girls girls girls by motley crue
Only to be knocked off its throne by Buck Cherry and “Crazy Bitch”
"hymns" CTFU😂😂😂💀
After GnR got big, all the glam bands moved to a harder sound. Listen to Skid Row’s second album, and that was the Warrant strategy too; hence, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” This song absolutely cemented them in the glam-pop pigeon hole. The ultimate result was Jani’s addiction and death. He was arguably the best lyricists of the glam scene. No one else could have penned “I Saw Red.” Jani was the artist in this band, and he never recovered from this tragedy.
sums it up after gnr your comment sums up the whole scene a bunch of posers
Warrant get shit on a lot for this song and it's really unfortunate.
They have a lot of bangers, and I don't care what anyone says, Jani Lane had a great voice.
Yea, I read recently that Jani Lane hated that the band was most known for this song. They had several good songs, but execs were wanting every band to record a "Pour Some Sugar On Me" type of hit.
Everytime I hear this song, I can only think of Jani in that interview on the verge of tears because everyone remembers him from that trash song and saying he wants to shoot himself when he listens to it. Hits harder knowing he's not here anymore
Same.
Jani is on record saying, quote "I could shoot myself in the head for writing that fucking song." Speaking of Cherry Pie, he was practically in tears in that interview. They wanted to prove themselves as artists and they basically became the poster child for how hair metal had run its course and people were sick it. It started their career and killed it in the same breath.
That says a lot about hair metal and it’s fans, that the vast majority of them take this song seriously and have no clue that it’s a parody.
He later went back on that comment though.
@@puremisery1649 it ain’t no parody. It’s just a crap song thrown together in 15 minutes. Generic lyrics, boring chord progression and melody. It just has a catchy chorus that’s fun for people of low intelligence to chant along with which happens to be the majority of the population.
@@MustObeyTheRules I bet it's on your playlist since it's for people with low intelligence and all...
@@bendovermen9425 you can literally go look at my playlist you clown. You won’t recognize anything.
I had a smile 10 miles wide watching this reaction lol. Love it 🤣 thumbs up guys
A lot of people only remember Warrant because of Cherry Pie & that’s one of the reasons why they (Janie Lane especially) hated the song so much, plus, like you guys said, they were practically forced to make it. It’s definitely a fun song, but they have better songs such as The Bitter Pill, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, etc. To be honest, can you really consider them one of the most hated bands if people only really know one of their songs
I couldn't of said it better. First album was great , became a fan after seeing the video for Down Boys. Jani Lane was actually a really good song writer. It's a shame that they are remembered only for Cherry Pie. When the true die hard Warrant fans know they have much better songs in there catalog.
To a degree this is a testament to how good of a writer Jani lane was. You had practically every band in the ‘80s trying to write a “Cherry Pie” (huge commercial success stadium anthem); Jani did it in 15 minutes. He was very under appreciated writer/musician, and unfortunately this became an avatar for all the silliness of 80’s rock/metal.
Warrant was a great band! I am 44 today and I used to listen to it 20 years ago… Listen to other songs on the same album and you will change your mind… Very talented band
Downboys is one of my FAVORITE songs ever!!! So much fun!!!! Joey Allen is absolutely amazing
geez you guys have been exremely active lately, love your guys channel, best reactors out there much love.
Bobbi Brown was SO HOT in this video. Also, extremely sad that this song ultimately drove Jani Lane over the edge to the point of losing a long agonizing battle with alcoholism. Sheesh.
I was waiting for your reaction to the “Think about baseball…” line, and you did not disappoint!!
I was waiting for them to react to "You ain't gonna swing with my daughter no more," and I was disappointed, they totally overlooked it.
I saw the film clip so often through the 90's that I know every part of it even when blurred. One reason the song is so hated is because it turned a great hard rock band into a mediocre cock rock band in the eyes of many people, it also came out when cock rock/hair metal/glam metal was in it's death-throes and people were looking for something new, which was why grunge hit so hard. Personally, I do love the rest of Warrant's material, they were such a talented band.
I knew Jani Lane,he had a club here in Orlando called… Jani Lane”s. He hated this song. When they wanted him to write a title track he said ‘We have a title track, Uncle Tom’s Cabin’. This was supposed to be a joke. I think if they hadn’t taken him seriously he’d be alive today. Uncle Tom’s Cabin was a masterpiece.
ua-cam.com/video/BHcUTu2xxwY/v-deo.html
Loved Uncle Tom’s Cabin!
He’s surely missed… I remember him. Was a cool dude, but at the end was so depressed
Where was that club? I grew up there but have never heard of that place
Uncle Tom's cabin is what should have been their hit, it is the superior song.
This is the best reaction channel on UA-cam. And I love Warrant and this song.
I don’t understand why warrant would be on this list. I have never heard of anybody hating warrant. I admit cherry pie is a little bit cheesy but there is so many great songs like uncle Tom’s cabin, I saw red, down boys
Lmaooooo
The smiles on your faces speak volumes as to how this was such a big hit. 😂
I have to admit, this has always been a guilty pleasure song for me. I love all their stuff but there's something about this song, even though it's far from their best, it's just so fun...
I feel ZERO guilt for loving Warrant. I get a little guilt listening to Winger, Slaughter, Extreme and Mr. Big because of the huge big ballad hits but loved them BEFORE those hits came out.
The album they made after this was excellent, and markedly more serious. No one took this serious at the time, it was seen as party hair metal, totally OTT deliberately.
Only that Cherry Pie song wasn't serious on that record.
@@stephanea5364 That’s what I said. But ‘Dog Eat Dog’ was a harder edged album than ‘Cherry Pie’ as whole.
Agreed. It's a shame Dog Eat Dog isn't more well known.
Yup...Dog eat Dog was a great album. Quicksand " was my favorite song from that album. RIP J. Lane
@@_alifeallmine_ No, that's not what you said.
So many have commented how they loved "Uncle Tom's Cabin"(very good song)that it almost seems that this marathon leads to a "One Hit Wonder(or "One Good Song")marathon.....
Warrant definitely doesn't fit in either of those categories. Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich was a great album with a couple of hits in Heaven and Down Boys.
8:11 Lmao BET Uncut bro! don’t act like we weren’t all there! 😂😂😂 great video as always
Hated? I think not…RIP Jani Lane🕊
ua-cam.com/video/BHcUTu2xxwY/v-deo.html
Yeah absolutely not a Hated band but just a hated song! RIP Jani mr song dance man!
They sucked.
Love warrant
@@Silence_Duder_Gooder - Uh they were talented musicians. This song is cheesy, yes but they don't suck. By the way, where's your band?
Pour Some Sugar On Me, “Lookin like a lover with a red iPhone”. You’ll never unhear it!
Great marathon. Having them come out in close succession is really good I think. Probably keeps more engagement for your “sometimes” watchers, which I’m guilty of being from time to time.
Regarding this video, I think you’re right in the sense that a big “for success” song can destroy the image of an otherwise stellar group of musicians. Regarding the video for the song, an intro that made it more obvious about its parody nature would have been appropriate. Then again, hair band videos had so many that were goofy or funny, who would be able to tell.
The paradox with the song, like you said, is that it gave the band more fame than they could've ever imagined, while completely overshadowing the rest of their catalog and changing their image to the more casual fan.
That album saw the first glimpses of the ''real Warrant'', but unfortunately, a year later Glam Metal would be yesterday's news. After that they really changed their sound as well as their lyrical content. Jani Lane, who wrestled with his own personal demons until his death, poured his soul in the songwritting during the 90s and he's a powerhouse in terms of songwritting.
They had FOUR albums with Lane after that, but it's safe to say Cherry Pie was the last ''silly party'' song they ever wrote. Sometimes I think that, without the Cherry Pie shadow hanging over their heads, they could've had some success in the 90s with their new sound. For example, if they got famous for their next album ''Dog Eat Dog'' the perception about them would be so much different.
Loved the marathon, gentlemen! Shoutout to the free thinkers.
The album that came after this one is called Dog Eat Dog, and is a masterpiece in my opinion. It's very different than what came before it, and showcases the often ignored/ overshadowed talent that was in this band. Album highlights include Hole in my wall, and Bitter Pill. As a side note, I wrote this band off after hearing their first album but a friend of mine insisted that I give The Dog Eat Dog album a chance...I'm glad I remained open minded. As for hating the band, I think it had more to do with the fact other bands such as Aerosmith, AC/DC and Def Leppard already wrote songs like Cherry Pie...And they did it so much better. When Warrant did it, it felt like what it was... A cash grab. True Metal fans can see through that nonsense.
April 2031 is amazing
@@bdan19921 Absolutely!
What’s a good song to start with
@@riffhousestudios96In my opinion, “The Hole in my wall” is a great start. It’s heavy, melodic, and sets a great example for where they were headed with other albums.
@@riffhousestudios96 Bitter Pill
People can trash songs like this all they want. It's still orders of magnitude better than most music today.... You all know it's true. 😀😀😀
💯%
it's not true.
@@THEDEEPDIVE LMAO!!
Unpopular opinion but absolutely true 80s rock or music in general after 1984 hasn't aged well compared to 60s and 70s music
80s musicians were at least extremely skillful. If some were born in different decades or joined different bands, they could have been very highly respected.
Well, I'm the hell back checking out your videos, support and share them. God knows how much I love & enjoy them. Obviously, English is not My mother language, but I try to explain myself. We Rocker guys are kind of picky and because of that, I've been kind of far away for a while. Now I see this stuff and ...I'm inmediately back again. Love hard rock...so that's why I'm back. All the Best for You Brian and George (I Can't understand all what You Say, It is the first time I got your names, but again, it's plenty enough of what I got to have lots of fun), God bless You and greetings from South America, Quito - Ecuador !!! Pleaseeee let me know ir You got me !!!!
I was 12 when I saw this video, and well, it awakened some things in me, lol. Bobbie Brown was beyond smokin’ hot.
Warrant's cover of "We Will Rock You" was actually really good.
This reaction was a hoot! Thanks a bunch....
Cheers from Brazil! I love this song, it was made to be silly, but is very catchy...
And the rest of the album is amazing.
Keep ‘em coming!
More coast contra! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Fun Fact: Jani Lane met Bobbie Brown for the first time on this video shoot, and they ended up getting married and having a daughter together. She also dated Motley Crue's Tommy Lee at one point.
As a Marine I love that you said ohh ra correctly. Love your guys insight
Love this one! I'm 59 so I was in my late 20's when this came out!
Growing up when this came out brings back to some cool memories. Love it great marathon
This is one of my favorite songs of all time and one of the best of the 80's hair band era.
Oh, you guys? You just bust me up on so many levels!
Ryan, when you mentioned that person who could be offended by this by saying "Well....I never..." So reminds me of Redd Foxx responding to someone who actually said that on the old 'Sanford and Son' TV show back in the 70s'...
Fred's (Red's) response in his raspy voice..."I bet you haven't..."
Hahaha!😆😆😆
Awwww! I love this marathon. It will be sad to see it go!
2 reasons to enjoy Warrant: Bobbi Brown!!!!
Hell yeah 😘 She's a friend of mine and had a fuckin blast shooting this video! Buy her books and find out; she's hilarious and her stories are legendary ❤️
@@nothingcanstopnoodles where are you in that pile of girls when they come around the mics to sing backup in the video?

... man... I was 14 or so when this video came out. I think Wicked Game was still playing on MTV as well. What a great summer. Unfortunately for Warrant (and Slaughter... Fly to the Angels) Facelift came out the same year. For me, this changed everything.
I unironically feel great when I hear this song. It's just silly fun.
I was 16 when this song came out and definitely had some fun with it.
You guys smiled and laughed all the way through.. kinda the point of listening to the song. Keep the vids coming gentlemen. Great content
Time for "Scorpion" by Megadeth.
Enjoyed this reaction. Funny! If I never hear this song again, it's all good🤣
Steven Chamberlin (Sweet) the drummer..went to high school in my hometown (Wadsworth, Ohio)..always liked them
It took me like 20 years to learn this wasn't a Def Leppard song lol. I had always thought "Warrant" was just the album name til I finally looked into it a while back
This is like #2 on my gym play list. It’s great while running!
i loved them! they are my favorite hair metal band! WOOOOOO!!
Loved these guys and this song. I saw them open up for Poison back in the day and they made Poison look like a garage band!
,lets be honest...poison is a pitiful band...so its still not saying much
I love this song. It represents the sex, drug and rock and roll gluttonous excess and overbloated sound of the buttrock 80s. All that at its absolute peak. All the dickwagging, over the top, fake machismo braggadocio cheese factor cranked up to the absurd and absolute max. 😂
Having said that, this song also makes me laugh and scream like Lani. RIP
Enjoying the hell out of this marathon 🤣🤣🤣
ua-cam.com/video/BHcUTu2xxwY/v-deo.html
You guys have to do another round of these!!!!!
I love Warrant and Jani Lane was my first crush! I got in trouble in kindergarten singing this song at recess at the top of my lungs. My mom got called to the principals office lol
Memories of being a teen when this came out, it was great for all the wrong reasons lol. Loved the marathon.
You guys should do Winger.
Really hated back in the day, but an incredibly underrated band in retrospective.
Second this
Jani was such an underrated singer and song writer. Listen to Uncle Tom's Cabin, Andy Warhol Was Right or April 2031 to hear what i mean. What amazing story telling.
Guys, there is a band here in Brazil called Hibria. You should defitinely give them a listen, I think it would blow your minds!
Thought you guys would do Poison instead lol. The girl in the Cherry Pie video is Bobbi Brown. She was also featured in multiple Great White music videos and was on one of their album covers too.
As a girl who loved all kinds of metal during this time, hung out at metal bars and went to so many concerts during this time, I can assure you I didn't think this was sexist. AT ALL. Nor did my friends. We understood that women are supposed be sexy, and we didn't see anything wrong with it. We loved being sought after and admired. FAR better than being referred to as bitches and hoes. WAY less controversial than a song about WAP. The song is so fun, and I know Jani detested what the song did to his band's reputation. But looking back, these times were nothing but fun. People weren't crybabies and they didn't get offended over every freaking thing. I miss those days. R.I.P. Jani Lane.
Thank you!
This is one of my favorite bands I could never hate warrant, Jani Lane's in the band. I grew up listening to all the hair bands. I was a big warrant fan.
My god, how long will these vids last. Hahaa. I'll be back when it's over. I can't relive it again... hahaa
The video wasn't banned. It was heavily played on mtv back then
I was a bartender all through college and wore this outfit for opening night and danced on the bar with it. Had a lot of tips that night. It's such a great song and video. No Bobbie Brown couldnt top Tawny Kitaen from WhiteSnake, but she was smoking baby. With her being Jani Lanes wife, it was meant to be so silly because of the girls in videos. It's got great guitar work and he had an amazing voice. I love this song. Uncle Tom's Cabin is a bad ass song. I Saw Red acoustic is absolutely fantastic and Jani was so talented. Love to have fun with this song. No one needed to take that seriously and I was a kid when it came out and I got the joke!!!
The sad part is Warrant was a very talented band with some really good music, This one song just destroyed them though. Really sad. My favorite song from though is Uncle Tom's Cabin. Guitar, drums everything is that song is done amazingly. Well worth the listen.
THAT RIFF AT 3:34 IS FIRE 🔥
ua-cam.com/video/BHcUTu2xxwY/v-deo.html
In the context of the time, it was one of the last in a long line of hair metal, people were exhausted and craving something with some authenticity or rage...some "umf". Then Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit". I Think the song got a lot of credit at the time for what it was, but now looking back a lot of it's effect on culture was not all "what it was" but "what is was not".... it was not "cherry pie".
Exactly, people who blame grunge for killing hair metal have it backwards. It killed itself. I was a teenager and I was so tired of that crap (Poison, Warrant, Trixter, etc) and I jumped on grunge and alt metal so hard because of that.
@@paulgrudowski4383 Exactly. All you have to do is check the billboard top 40 of the months and weeks before Nirvana hit and you can see why it hit so hard. Richard Marx, Michael Bolton, Color Me Badd etc.
alot of hair metal bands back in the late 80's and early 90's did put out alot of songs about sex and partying and music videos that feature a hot chick or 2 depends on the song. Kiss, Winger, Motley Crue, Cinderella, WASP, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Poison, Whitesnakes, Slaughter, Ratt, Warrant, Faster Pussycat, Danger Danger, and many were writing those kinds of tune and same goes for the power ballads.
Awesome marathon… fun to watch! The only other band I wish you would have done was Winger just because their story in interesting, they were the butt of a running Bevis and Butthead joke and they could never overcome it, but I always thought they were legit
So good!
Warrant Cherry Pie is a awesome album.
"He's shredding over some bullshit." Yeah, that sums it up. ;P I bet this song will be stuck in my head all day now. ;)
Most any song that begins with the chorus...good times lol thanks for this.
I loved this song & still rock it!
A quote from Episode 4 of our show: "Really 1989? Milli Vanilli and Warrant? Ugh! Nirvana can't come fast enough."
I love this song 😜 first time I heard it was in the film Bring It On
It’s time for some Steel Panther reactions for a proper hair metal parody.
Warrant's album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinkin' Rich is GREAT. I love the whole album...play it straight through.
These guys were great. RIP Jani. A talented guy. Great review guys.
Lot's of people don't like 80s stuff because they are jealous of all the talent. 😂 🤘♥️🤘
RIP Janie. Loved DRFSR as a kid. Remember listening to Uncle Tom's Cabin in school on the Walkman, doing my best to hide my Game Boy earbuds in my jacket.
Hey guys! I know this isn’t an Alice in Chains reaction but I notice you guys love the Dirt album. I know you’re both aware of Layne’s heroin addiction and assume a lot of the songs in that album are about his addiction, but I just wanted to let you know that none of the songs you reacted to were about his addiction! As you can imagine, the three tracks in that album that actually are about his addiction (Sickman, Junkhead, and God Smack) go fucking hard. My favorite of those three is God Smack but I suggest you listen and react to Junkhead, it’s a very blunt and raw song.
Warrant had some amazing riffs and lyrics - outside of songs written for radio. Uncle Tom's Cabin was a good example but there are many more.
I have always loved this band... and the song!
I love warrant! And I like the song, although it's a bit x rated. But one of their really good one's is Heaven, which I hear on the radio alot, because I'm a big 80s and 90s fan.😀👍
Great reaction, guys! Please check out "No Place for Disgrace" by the band Flotsam and Jetsam! It's the title track from their 2nd album released in 1988, and it's about Japanese Samurai warriors. Jason Newsted formed this band before joining Metallica in 1986 after Cliff Burton (bassist) died in a bus accident. Flotsam and Jetsam are still going strong. They released their 14th album last June. Thanks!
such an underrated thrash band. talented singer and the other members as well. Escape from Within, Doomsday and October Thorns are also great tunes. \m/
It was something of a raw deal. While I kinda saw the whole "Heaven" power ballad and the perfunctory wink and smile at the end of the video as being a "...hoo boy...ok...another one vying to dethrone Bon Jovi" type of thing, "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was a far cry from the seemingly hook-laden hits we'd gotten prior to that. Their record company really swayed them and abandoned them once Nirvana took off (which was par for the course with the recording industry...whatever the flavor of the month brings; that's what they go with..lock, stock and barrel!).
The girl in the video was Jani Lane's girlfriend. Her name is Bobbi Brown. She was also in Once Bitten Twice Shy by Great White. She wasn't uncomfortable in this video. It's what she did for a living.
I loved this song so much when it was new - for a few years!!! "I mixed up the batter and (she liked the beater...)" Just hear how good the quality of the production is on this song! No overly compressed/clipped high end or too loud low end or omitted low end - everything is crisp and perfect!! 7:54 - I love that bit as when he says left you only hear his lyrics in the left speaker then when he says right you only hear his lyrics in the right speaker - attention to detail!!!
Honestly, you guys need to hear their song “Heaven”. That song hits a special place in my soul.
"I've never heard this song before."
Tell me you've never been to a strip club without telling me you've never been to a strip club.
It's odd; several years ago, The Offspring released a parody song and people took them seriously. How that can happen with The Offspring, I'll never understand, but Cruising California (Bumpin' In My Trunk) was a total riff on Katy Perry et al. To get an idea of Warrant without cheese, Dog Eat Dog is probably their best album and Andy Warhol Was Right is a gem of a criminally underrated song and very thought-provoking.
I love this song great fun!!!
