My Sister and I visit the Amish country in Sugar Creek Ohio every chance we get. Love their restaurants and all the flea markets. We always come home with alot of their cheese, and home canned foods. We love the slowed down and peaceful life style that they provide for out of state friends that have to travel so far to visit them. Such a treat for us. God Bless.

Yea well next time you go spend a day at the livestock auction and see the horrible conditions of the animals they literally throw away or work and breed to death,look in the trash cans where they sell their puppy mill puppys and watch along the road where they the ones too old to breed. They are the most vile ungodly demons on earth!

The best way to invite people to a buffet line is to keep it presentable from dropped food. Presentation is not only how the food looks /tastes also is to keep the area clean.

Before I retired, I was West Coast HR Manager for the Rubbermaid Company. I traveled frequently to Akron and Hudson. I always extended my trips to the weekends so I could explore the area. For this California/Mexican/indigenous gal, I found the food very familiar, not unlike my mother in law’s who was from Cleveland. Beautiful country. 👍🏼I’ve subscribed!

My daughter and I ate at the Amish Door a little over a year ago. The buffet was good. We would eat and shop in the area more often, but it's a day trip from where we live in Pittsburgh. Time to plan another visit, I think.

My husband and I went to ALL the Amish restaurants in the area over the course of many years of traveling to Amish Country. We preferred Mrs.Yoder’s in Mount Hope and my hubby still talks about it. We can no longer make the trip due to medical issues.

I used to live near an Amish bakery and the donuts were legendary! All the donuts were freshly made, flavorful, and melted in your mouth.

I was just there today. The Amish door just isn’t what it used to be. The buffet is not as clean as they used to keep it. A lot of the foods they used to have is no longer there. I noticed that quite a few of their recipes have changed, and not for the good. As much as I used to love the Amish door, we won’t be going back.
Sounds like the new managers are not as skilled? And/or shrinkflation has hit- pay more, get less quality and less quantity. 😔

We were just there on Friday. The food on the buffet wasn't great nor from the family that good. Took over 20 minutes for three of us to receive what we ordered. The waitress was quick to fill everyone but my drink. The only good at this point was the bakery, which I feel is the best. We sadly will not be eating here again.
It used to be so much better. Last time we went, it wasn’t amazing.

I agree. We have been going there for years and loved it.But, it’s not run by the same people anymore. I really don’t like it anymore. A lot has changed. There isn’t as much on salad bar and they have changed salad dressing. They have taken items off of the menu also. They also revamped the decorations and atmosphere isn’t as cozy as it was before. Kind of cold and sterile. I also won’t be going back. Just like any other generic restaurant. I will be going to Mrs. Yoders. Prices have also gone overboard.
Hi, I was at Amish door on Saturday. The fried chicken was dry, but everything else was good. I go to Amish country 2wise A month.I Always went To MaMa Yoders but AlWays open to try new Places. i live on the West side of Cleveland ohio.

And btw they buy all their grocerys at savalot and reisbecks they don't make homemade noodles etcetcetc
@therealz360z7 despite the comments, it's quite delicious. You can order the fried chicken from the menu so it's piping hot and fresh. Nobody does buttery mashed potatoes like the Amish Door. The bakery was fantastic too. Skip the buffet and order from the menu if you're worried about the comments. It really is worth the trip.
Do you know where I can buy wood furniture made by the Amish?
There are some places in Millersburg, Mt Hope and Hartville.
We ate there this Year. I was not impressed. We go every year to Amish Country a couple of Times. I prefer Mrs. Yoder and Dutch Valley.

Amish door has the best chicken but they are too dam expensive!!!
Keep going to the restaurants ! And buying there bakery goods ! You attributing to there animal abuse !
