  • US Army gunners carry out missions on the M119A3 and M777 howitzers.
    • The M119 howitzer is the US designation for the L119 light gun, a lightweight British 105 mm howitzer also used by the United States Army. It can be easily airlifted by helicopter, or dropped by parachute. It does not need a recoil pit.
    M119A3: modernized version with digital fire control system and an inertial navigation system for self location, entered service in April 2013 with A Battery 3/319th Field Artillery at Fort Bragg.
    • The M777 howitzer is a towed 155 mm artillery piece. It succeeded the M198 howitzer in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army in 2005. The M777 is also used by the ground forces of Australia, Canada, India and Saudi Arabia.
    The M777 is manufactured by BAE Systems' Global Combat Systems division. Prime contract management is based in Barrow-in-Furness in the United Kingdom as well as manufacture and assembly of the titanium structures and associated recoil components. Final integration and testing of the weapon is undertaken at BAE's facility in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

    love the last shoots, you can hear clearly the whistling sound of the shell flying away towards the objective
    for those wondering, the Howitzer class cannons are set far from frontlines, like 30 or so miles away, since they can reach easily that distance towards an objective, if you see on a battlefield a emplacement of this cannons near frontlines, they're aiming deep inside enemy territories. more oftenly weapons and explosives caches, or military trucks, tanks or specially designated targets, which can hinder the enemy deployment towards frontlines

    ill never forget the long months hanging out on the m777 in Afghanistan waiting for missions to come down. Or the months at a time shooting them in every weather condition imaginable (with or without wearing a gas mask for some reason) in training areas around the world. The worst and best times of my life and ill never forget them

    What I started on 83' 16 years old local guard unit went to 2 Sumner Camps before i went to Basic, i got to fire all weapons that they had i had such a jump on all recruits that were in but it came back to bite me !
    The C/O called me in CQ said I read here you been to Sumner Camps and you have already qualified on everything! So i need you to be my Trainer for your platoon !
    But our Guns were different here same Ammo not guns ! Split Trail M198 155 mm was brand new now Marines have some I think at least they did in Iraq they may have completely dissolved them by now !

    • @agonbeq6482
      @agonbeq6482 6 років тому +5

      Hobbs Charles Well maybe the GDP is low but I am every year 3 times in Kosovo and also on Albanian beaches and it is fantastic prices are low, people are nice, great culture and very young 50% under 20... I once drove through Serbia, Belgrade and I though I am in Syria. Autobahn, Buildings and so on look much nicer in Kosovo besides that Serbia was the leader of Yugoslavia and took everything to make places like Kosovo die out... I have never said that we want to take Russia, who wants to live in such a shithole? We just want to have our real Albania back!

    How do you keep the deflection and the facing of the gun true between each firing? Doesn't the recoil and movement throw it off? I've always wondered this about artillery, given that they try to fire it as rapidly as possible. How do you re-center the gun every time?

    • @michaellammers4694
      @michaellammers4694 Рік тому +3

      It somewhat throws it off but most of the time the guns are anchored to the ground,and they just move the gun up,down,left or right when need be
