And some how the 100 radicals manage to cause 5 separate city block riots, kill hundreds of people and require weeks of active guard presence to suppress
I love how much this sounds like a cross between the drums of war and a tragedy. Like it laments that the violence ever had to happen but revels in every moment of it, all the while the background sings of a desperation to resolve this before we tear ourselves apart. Its so perfect for the time it plays. Piotr you've done it again.
The Great Frost is a great old enemy, but it is one that does not change. We can conquer the frost. But try as we might, we will never conquer human nature.
Overwhelming brass vs the fleeting ember-like violins. The perfect climax to the question the people always ask the player Steward, do you hear us. And apparently, based on this chapter, some people were not heard.
Anger. Pure anger burns against the cold. Decades of a hopeless fight for survival, each day lived only on the edge. The bone-chilling cold is like the air we breathe. It accompanies us from birth and absorbs us when we die. How much anger do you have to have to survive all this? How many desperate attempts must succeed? How many lives do we have to give up? How much of our nature do we need to let go of? Anger drives us, makes us proud and confident, pushes us to action in the fight against the eternal frost. How can others not see this and understand us? After all, we have proven that we have a way and that we know the only way into the future. How stupid and inhuman you have to be to stand in our way and be an obstacle. Anger erupts with the force of a great blizzard, we will be condemned for fratricidal war. But we cannot go back, we have already given so much to survive, it couldn't be in vain. Anger consumes us, we regret. Mother, what a world we live in.
@@IrishWarrior00 interesting interpretation, for me it is the sound of workers, the life of the city, how thousands of people create a force capable of fighting the eternal winter
If The City Must Survive was so good, how come there's no The City Must Survive 2?
The City Must Survive 2:
The track should've been called the city must not fall

It's a crime that frostpunk 2 wasn't nominated at the game of the year awards more for it's soundtrack and/or audio design.
I'm radicalising over it
POV: You ignored a faction of 100 radical militants to please the faction with 20,000 people in it
And some how the 100 radicals manage to cause 5 separate city block riots, kill hundreds of people and require weeks of active guard presence to suppress
The lesson to be learned here is: _never_ underestimate the damage 100 pissed-off people can do.

Steward doesn't feel like a word anymore with this game.

Is this actual dialogue? Because holy shit its fantastic
@@lukemimnagh2594 No, I wrote it. This piece helped me imagine the emotions and monologue of someone involved in the conflict in New London :)

@Victor_Shkaf I'd favour their interpretation considering this plays when the civil war starts.
@@YoshiTheyosh123 I've only recently got through the game, and I agree with his interpretation myself.
From Steward to STEWARD!!!!!!!!
