Good work, here's the other side of the story. I started questioning AG1 because it's advertised as being made here in New Zealand but not available for sale here. I discovered the company was started by an ex Kiwi, Chris Ashenden, now living in Florida. He left New Zealand under a cloud after being found guilty of running a dodgy 'rent to buy' housing scheme. On sentencing Judge Moore said the offending contained strong elements of cynicism and the calculated exploitation of people. He promoted his 1st health supplement, known as 'Brainquicken' on websites and in blogs. In my opinion he realized he'd found a more easy to exploit market in health.

    • @AlexSokolovsky
      @AlexSokolovsky День тому +1

not to argue with you on your main statement, but "Brain Quicken" (as the widely known fact goes) was founded by _another_ rather famous gy, namely Tim Ferris (!), not _Chris Ashenden of AG1 fame.

AG1 is GENUINELY trying to make money. Full stop. I've been into this scene for longer than most of you ahve been alive, and AG1 hits all of the warning signs. Plants are not even shown to be necessary; if you ARE eating plants, you need fiber (which slows absorption of carbs) which pulverized stuff doesn't have, and the more processed something is, the less healthy it is. If you're gonna eat veggies, eat veggies - don't pay way more for an inferior processed knock-off. Plus, the head guy is a New Zealand con man whose last grift was a real estate scam.

My second packet of ag1 arrived, and three times that month I got deathly ill. I stopped taking it after the first time I got sick just to settle my stomach and not really realizing what was happening by the third time that I got sick. I realized the only thing I had that morning when I felt wonderful was ag1 2 hours later I was sicker than I've ever been and was rushed to the hospital. There was something toxic in that batch Have yet to find out what it was. I'm having it analyzed. St. 6 days of work due to it so don't bother.

I don't have the study links, but it's starting to look like probiotics can possibly do more harm than good by creating monocultures and other issues. Rather it appears that multiple daily servings of fermented foods is the ticket. I stopped all probiotics and went the fermented route. Regularity and other issues like bloating improved, general inflammation seems improved, sugar/carb seeking greatly reduced.

I think it's always good to be pretty skeptical about "out of the box" solutions like this, because one of the first things you realize (and it's a BIG AH HA) when you go down the Bio/Health Rabbit Hole is just how unique we all are and how important it is we cater to our situation (which never stays the same). So a standard juice or powder, although convenient and likely good to get you started, will only give you so much.

Truly-your expert’s analysis on major pharma products would be infinitely more helpful. If AG is questionable, then so are most supplementals Americans are taking. Think about K’Chava-same critiques. I will trust Tim Ferris over the random group you have assembled. Please provide their resumes.

I simply eat right. It takes about 3 months of diligence to dial it in (in light of how poor our food is) but I stated 8 years ago and reversed every issue including being overweight. People would think I’m super disciplined but I’m not - I just developed a strong preference for feeling good all the time and eliminated all the stuff that jeopardizes that. Fruit smoothies and bagels come to mind…
My regimen includes beef organ supplements which drastically improved my health.
I cycle them though because I trust no brand.

I think it's a bit selfish and narcissistic to value personal experience over "science" Yes science changes but it has also debunked quackery that has come from anecdotal personal experiences throughout history. As an extreme example, if people valued personal experiences to that extent then thinks like smoking or doing radiation drinks and the like would still be considered beneficial. A less extreme example of this selfish thinking is the athlete that doesn't want coaching as they think they know best how to perform based on personal experience whereas a coach could never provide any extra insight. Most people would see the faulty thinking there.
I'm glad the science is being examined at a deeper level here rather than diving deeper into personal experiences of the product. Not to diminish personal experiences of people like Jeff, but his take is incomplete like you said.

I have not seen any deep analysis in this video, but opinions of people represented as experts. A prominent peculiarity is, this channel tends to mention specific products conveying their own attitudes. That’s a sign to stay on the critical side. There may be other channels with other experts you can like too saying different things. Listening to others and doing own research is helpful.

      - for the people buying it, you just spent 100$. You want health and diet to be easy, you want this to work.
I also see a bit of a superiority complex from the people who engage in these “health protocols” people like Huberman shill. It’s often people who are insecure about their body or struggling with their health (totally understandable) and being privy to “the latest research” and these life changing regimes perfectly calibrated through science gives them a sense of control and eliteness. If you actually look at the research, people like Huberman often cite studies that are poor quality.
      - for the people shilling it, the money they are making (there’s crazy margins to be made by selling supplements since they are so cheap to produce, people like Huberman are probably making millions by promoting them every year)

todacco also makes one feel a bit more sharp and focused, lol. so "feelings" are not a deal maker\breaker for me.. i'd wait 2-3 month to evaluate results. but yeah that is a great point - stripped of all fiber, are there polyphenols in there. a question for a food (supplement) technologist
citing Web, "Non-extractable polyphenols (NEP) are polyphenols that are bound to dietary fibre (DF) and have important health benefits to humans. Past studies have used hydrolysis methods to extract NEP, studying NEP and DF separately. However, hydrolysis may affect their structures and functional properties."'' so... the question is open
as far as my research goes (yes there are textbooks with 3rd party test results with comparison charts), USANA supplement are somewhere on top on the safety list (way above AG1 and Amway, i.e.)
