  • This is the Pasig River Expressway, a project that will connect the eastern and western parts of Metro Manila by providing a direct link, cutting down travel time of Manila to Rizal from 70 minutes to just 15 minutes!

    What Manila and other major city in the Philippines need is a metro rail system, they are efficient and cheaper in the long run, and not only it will provide jobs, it will tremendously improve the air quality. Today Manila is over run by vehicles from tricycles, jeepneys, to large coach buses and cars of all sizes, with no modern infastructure let alone a space to park.

      Agree! Only the rich will benefit from these highways. The toll will take a toll on our wallets. We need further improvements on our railroad system. As long as no government prioritizes affordable and efficient public transportation, we cannot solve this traffic problem. DOST is doing great in R&D of trains and possibility of manufacturing them in the PH. I just hope their project will come into fruition.

    i would highly propose to have a railway construction instead. That can be used for Public transport and Cargo trains since its line of passage would benefit trucks, ease of congestion for passing cargo and better logistics supply chain.

    Im against it. It might annihilate the beauty of Pasig River *again.* Plus, I think it’s about time to build more railways instead (which probably is happening but idk), outside the pasig river area, considering theres an extreme tremendous amount of cars, trucks, and whatnot. Another road doesn’t rlly help the traffic.
    If one wants to develop the Pasig River area... at least CONSIDER the river itself, and make sure it won’t hurt the river. Some big road will absolutely not do in my opinion.

    This Tollway if build will turn out to be a monstrosity over the beautiful Pasig River. After all these years of cleaning, you now want to destroy it's beauty with thousands of concrete pillars and girders. This project will become Metro Manila's dirty eyesore and make the Pasig River resemble a concrete Jungle! Instead why not make the river a tourist park, an area of entertainment for the people to enjoy. Yes, transportation is needed there so instead why not extended the sky train, now under construction, all the way from BGC to intramuros. Two years ago an LRT line was proposed along the river, a good idea, what ever happened to that? The sky train can carry more people per hour than a 6 lane expressway and not be so obtrusive.

    The Pasig River will become a dead river because the flow will be hampered. So they have a Dead Sea and we also have a Dead River. Right now government cannot even maintain that river; how much more if covered or obstructed by a wide road above? Keep the sun shining upon the river. There are other more worthwhile projects that the proponents can undertake. Secondly, discourage people moving from east to west of metro manila. It will just worsen the traffic situation in the city. People can take the circumferential and transverse roads to their destinations.

    This is a massive infrastructure project to dicongest Manila, but another solution to this most probably is streamlining the transport system by making it a government owned /centralized transport system. Absorb the jeepney drivers to different sector of the the transport system, employ them as regular government employees of this Gov't transport System and streamline transport scheduling of pick up and unloading of passengers in designated bus stops, this system I have seen, works very efficiently in Sydney, Australia, We have to pay well our transport employees though, We can transfer the jeepney system in 2nd ot 3rd class municipalities though.This may entail increases in fares,, but if the changes are acceptable and beneficial to the people and eases their way of life/livelihood, I think it won't matter, People will agree to pay for what is efficient, clean, safe and punctual transport system, because that way they can productively earn a good income, I think this system will ease the traffic situation, there has to be a good automated scheduling system and travel timetable dessimination of loading and unloading in bus stops.

    • @martinj1933
      @martinj1933 3 роки тому

      Absolutley. The one thing that causes the most traffic congestion on smaller roads are Jeepneys stopping every 20 meters to load/unload. The sooner there are recognised pick up/drop off points for people to use, the faster the traffic will flow. Ok so people might have to walk 50 meters to their house instead of 10 meters, is that really a hardship? Time to move on into the 21st century and beyond.

      It's not a good proposal at all. It will only worsen traffic, destroy the river and worsen the quality of life. We shouldn't close off part of the river only to people in cars who pay toll. It should be opened up to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport - that will actually improve traffic and air and water quality.

      NONEOFYOURBIZ the concept in urban/transport planning is called induced demand - it alleviates traffic in the short term but it "induces" the demand for more cars and it gets full again in the mid-long term. That's why building more road capacity isn't necessarily the solution in an already congested high density area. The solution is more transport options especially mass transit (much more efficient than roads/expressways) to alleviate traffic, and congestion charge for some roads that are already built.

      @@mickeyeva.travels Wait so you are saying the group of consultants who conducted feasibility studies before creating this projects are bunch of morons? Didn't you know that all roads that are being constructed under BBB programs are interconnected to alleviate traffic in the Metro? The whole sense of BBB is to attarct foreign investors, our roads and mass transport are all dated. I also don't understand the demands for more car? So bibili ng sasakyan kahit walang parking space? Do you also understand that there are trucks that are deliviring goods from inside to outside NCR and vice versa? When it comes to Mass transit, I am not sure if you are watching reliable news or atleast checking the Departments social media pages that is working on road and infrastructure developments. Mega Manila Subway will start in 2021, Makati Subway is being created now. A monorail to BGC is also planned and expected to start next year. We are also adapting the BRT that should've been done few years back, pero ngaun lang sinipag ang MMDA, PNR is also saying HI to you. NEW LRTS AND MRTs with much faster engine; it will cater commuters with much faster turnaround. So if you are concern with Mass Transport, they are already working on it. Iniisip mo plang, ginagawa na nila. YOU KNOW WHAT NEEDS TO BE SOLVED?? DAPAT NO PARKING SPACE NO CAR. ANG MAHIRAP DITO SA PINAS KAHIT WALANG PARKING MAY SASAKYAN, UNLIKE JAPAN. And then the same at 0:47 when he said something like “this expressway...” and I saw the Bay Bridge toll plaza and the bridge itself, I was confused. And then I read the disclaimer. Replace all old Jeepneys n Buses with new electric Vehicles, built an efficient underground MRT, clean up d waterways n develop a modern water transportation.
