The South African bow is a Grey. Some nice ideas: limb bolts pivot from the bottom, so they stay flush to the limb. Clicker rod is hollow, so possibly louder. The back brace is carbon, I believe.

Wave XS was my first riser. It is a decent British made riser. Well balanced and decent to shoot, I managed to shoot it at the national level in the UK. Highly recommended

I dont get it why people strip out the tiller bolts. When i get a new riser, first thing for me is to loosen the locking srew and uncrew the tiller bolt completely. Then i just count the threads. Rule of thumb: 2/3rds of them should be in the riser. Easy as that. I always write this stuff down for later use, because its easy to mix it up if you run different bows. In my experience people wind the bolts out much to far for draw weight adjustments. I always tell beginners in my club, these are called tiller bolts, not draw weight bolts. If the bow is to heavy, get different limbs.

These are great no nonsense mid range risers. Well made and priced well. Come in 23", 25" & 27" lengths with heaps of good colours. Hope you sell lots of them because they haven't been the easiest to get in Australia.

My first target recurve was a Mybo elite which I eventually sold to a fellow club member. When I see it shot I still think that's a good looking riser.

One of my favorite looking risers you have reviewed so far. I am in the market for my first recurve bow and this one is on my list now. I also like the Fivics Vellator V2 as well but like the looks of this one a little better. Not sure on the open limb pockets, but then again what do I know.
Dude looking at all the times I have heard you speak about how people strip out risers I am left wondering why you have not done a video on it? Maybe you have and I have just not seen it, but if you have not...maybe you should mate !!

I first saw a MYBO at the TAS Masters games a couple of years ago. Graham Bensons wife was shooting it, and I was impressed by how smooth it was. the finish was really nice and not too heavy. I would definitely consider it and it comes in a huge range of colours as well. I would place it in the hands of a good club archer not an absolute beginner. just my 2 cents.

That reverse riser cutout was done in the 70s, maybe the 60s, by the US Wing Archery, Carrolls Archery and Sagittarius Archery... and maybe others. So it's not a recent idea.

It's the Mybo Wave X and is sized by S, R and L (denoting 23", 25" and 27"). The Wave is the previous iteration.

In Europe, the Mybo Wave is a somewhat common entry-level/intermediate bow, something you buy if you want a riser that's a touch nicer than the typical WNS Motive. Risers in the same price range (€350-400) include the WNS Vantage AX, Hoyt Xakt and Kinetic Adeo. But, that's Europe. I imagine shipping and handling have a great impact on the final price of a product that needs to travel half the world. Fivics products seem to be very competitively priced in Australia. In Europe, they tend to be at the higher end of their price ranges.

    Looks great.
I always wear a hat while shooting. Either a baseball cap or a " Boonie" hat.
    Cheers. Nice rundown. Thank you.

Mybo makes some awesome products. The Wave is their mid tier riser and competes against the likes of the Fivics Vellator V2.
They have the Elite riser as well which sits under $1000AUD which also looks very good. I really hope now they have released the Mykan for barebow they are working on a new olympic style riser.

I have this very riser, I am a novice so can't give too much of an opinion on how it shoots. I picked it because I needed a 27inch riser and it was significantly cheaper than any others available. I can say however that Mybo are letting themselves down with presentation on the sale. To explain, my first riser was by Decut, budget riser that was good enough to start, now when I got that riser it came in a cardboard box with a foam cutout for the riser and came with all the tools needed for adjustment, a decent arrow rest that matched the riser colour, clicker and clicker extension pieces that all had their place in the box. Fast forward to when my (triple the price) Mybo riser turned up in a similar cardboard box you can imagine the disappointment when I opened it to see the riser loose in the box with just a single layer bubble wrap sleeve on it, no documentation, no tools, no accessories.

Really, not even packaged right? No tools or docs? Worried now, i just shelled out on one and am waiting for it. Was the quality good on the riser?
They stopped doing anodized now due to finish problems so its the 27" wave x in smoke ceracote finish i bought, not sure if im keen on paint so im already a bit uneasy with this purchase.
I wouldnt expect accessories like rest etc on a riser btw, the free stuff that comes with cheap bows isn't worth wasting the time trying to use imho it brings about crap shooting, and you do actually pay for it.
My WNS Vantage AX and Motive came with tools, a basic a4 leaflet (just about adequate as instructions), tools and a padded riser slip. The QC on the Vantage is top rate, it's noticeably nicer than the motive in every way (shooting, machining, feel, you name it).
Really hope the Mybo is on par with the Vantage given the price and lack of tools etc...

Mine arrived yesterday. They now come with a fleece lined sleeve, tools, and instructions very similar in format to my WNS risers (for anyone else trying to find info on the riser).

    The union jack.

@@sahhullsorry but it’s only the Union Jack when flown from a ship. In other situations it’s the Union Flag.

@@andrewchristofi8386 They didn't specify it wasn't a ship in their comment anyway, they where simply talking about flags & the jack not being logo's. No rules say they couldn't refer to the flag as fitted to a ship, you just assumed the rest. The same also applies to their reply to you, that simply says the flag is known as the Union Jack, it doesn't specify in what context and doesn't have to in order to be correct. They didn't rule ships out, you did that so you could disagree with them. Get a life.
