This video made me decide to unpack my Xbox 360 and set it up for my son. He’s too young for controller gaming but I want to introduce him to Kinect Adventures. My PS3 is still in a box but I might set it up again for the off-road racing game!
Great video! I own both. I love both consoles. Both have great exclusives. Xbox 360 is my main console since I own a lot of games for it and have been finding games dirt cheap at Thrift stores. When it comes to FPS, action & adventure, and 3rd person shooter games I prefer having it on the 360 because of the hardware and controller. PS3 I have just the exclusive, some fighting games, a couple of platformers, and a couple of RPGs. I love that both consoles are backward compatibility. You can play all physical PS1 games on the PS3 or if you have the BC PS3 model you can play both PS2 and PS1 and play over 7,000 games, which is a great value. 😃Xbox 360 you can play around 462 original xbox games, which is amazing. Both offer great value on the table.
If you can swing it, get both. Plenty of games and GOTY editions. Both consoles have some good exclusives. 360 can play some Xbox originals. All PS3 models can play PS1 games, but you could buy the PS3 model that plays ps2 games.
@@thegamethrifter I can use stealth severs and other things like that but what console overall? I’m having a hard time deciding. I’d like to have a really big collection of games but I don’t know which console offers the most and the best games entirely.
Personally I own both. Multiples of them too. However my primary ones are my glossy 360 Slim, and my fat CECHG01 PS3. They both are just awesome consoles, both physically, and aesthetically. And they have tons of the most fun games on them. Huge libraries to choose from. The 360 and PS3 generation has always been my favorite one since my childhood. I remember back when they released I was 8 (the 360 in 2005) and 9 (the PS3 in 2006). Back then I thought I'd never get my hands on either of them, now here I am nearly 2 decades later at 27 years old with both. One thing that's not as much acknowledged, I feel like this was the first generation that really started trying to make graphics look realistic.
Is there a Xbox 360 model with no rrod? If not how do you fix it? I really want it because of l4d2 but scared of rrod and is there a ps3 equivalent of rrod on ps3? Last question where do you think the best place to buy them is
Jasper boards have the lowest RROD rate of the old fat versions, but are loud compared to slims and E consoles. Slims are probably the best bet since E versions also had slightly worse optical drives IIRC.
Agreed. Very few multiplats on my ps3, and they’re the ones that run great but mostly exclusives. Where as there are some exclusives on my 360, but mostly multiplats
@@SatchelChannel Some people like to collect and get the real feel of the hardware. That's pretty much me, I never play PC or emulate. It's the thrill of the hunt for the games and nostalgia of the actual platform.
4:51 yes, the need for speed games aren’t exclusive, though there is one need for speed game that (thanks for timing) technically became an Xbox 360 exclusive, and that is Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2005, being a launch title was the biggest advantage for the Xbox 360 as the console was released a whole year before the PS3. Not to mention the 360 port is by far the best one out of all ports.
@thegamethrifter and because of this I'm currently looking for a used Xbox 360, I already founded a modded Xbox 360 Slim with 30 games including NFSMW 05 for an equivalent of $114 dollars, I've enough money to buy an Xbox one but NFSMW and Carbon not being backwards compatible is kinda deal breaker for me, so what do you think? Do you think the modded 360 is a great value and worth it? Or should I just get the Xbox one?
Another great video!! Thank you! If I'm allowed to critique, I would've liked to see pictures of the consoles when you talked about what versions you prefer. You and I both know what they look like, but for newbies, it'd be cool to say, THIS is the one I like, get this one. Maybe next time, up to you. Great video!!
As a longtime Xbox playee, I'd say get a PS3 in retrosepct. So many titles PS3 titles are backwards compatible on Series Consoles as well as Xbox One. The real nail on the coffin imo is the fact that Microsoft completely shutdown the 360 store while PS3 is still up and running. I have two One's and both a Series S and X. Any 360 games I want to play can be played there digitally or physically. If I really want to play 7th gen om physical hardware I'd just get a PS3 at that rate for all the exclusives I never had.
@thegamethrifter Possibly, but it's open for the foreseeable future. If you have a series console or an XB One there's little reason to get a 360 outside of specifically wanting to play on the original hardware. Over 600 of the games are backwards compatible. It's not the same case for Sony, but I agree that if you can get both then definitely go for it.
At this point it comes down to modding considering both consoles are currently in the gutter 360 you can change the dashboard and keep the kernel and get new online servers added
I completely agree with your statement on not seeing the console wars as a legit thing. They both offer great features/games but to sit there and waste breath for one over the other is dumb.
Very much in agreement. Seeing fight night on 360 the first time was mind blowing. Was hyped for the PS3 since its concept was leaked. Both consoles in retrospect far exceed the consoles that came after in both game (selection, quality) and multimedia. Maybe because they were so great, not much after has seemed quite so special. Aside from maybe the switch. Maybe that was because we got to play a lot of those 7th gen titles on the go??? 😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉
Both Sony and Microsoft need to make single storefronts for all their games, and which system you're on determines what you have access to, so there'd be no need to shut them down.
I'm about to buy a xbox360 for about $50. I could pay 20 more for the Kinect, but I have 2 questions. 1. Is Kinect even worth it or is it just a collectors thing? I really dk about collecting, just playing 2. Im want to step back from modern consoles/pc and craving for an offline experience. Can you use your 360 without connecting to the internet? I just want to put in a disk and sit back and play.
Only reason my first 360 died is because I used cheap solder that melted away from the points and red ringed it then my first dead ps3 was from artic silver 5 thermal paste either used too much or didn’t let it settle long enough and it got on the motherboard and shorted it now I use non conductive paste 😂
Short answer: 360. Long answer: Both, but the Xbox has always been my primary console since the OG Xbox. However, that doesnt mean I hate the PS. Too many great exclusives on PS. However, I have virtually every multiplat Xbox version, sans a few exceptions, like NFS:HP2, which plays better on PS2.
Why would you get a 360 over a ps3? You can still play every Xbox game on the series x then you add in Hen or CFW and the ps3 more than jumps in the lead I’d rather get a vita and ps3 than an Xbox 360 and a ps3 based on the fact I just put my gta4 disc in my series x and played that all last week and they run better and load faster on modern hardware
I’d be more worried about ps2 games tried to play SSX tricky on a ps2 emulator and let’s just say I’d rather buy a ps3 and mod it than play some ps2 games on a emulator but rcps3 has been bringing online games back
It doesn’t make a lot of sense to go crazy collecting for the ps3 unless Sony is going to step up backwards compat. Your stuck playing those games on the ps3 which is an aging console even 1st party controllers are getting hard to come by. At least with Xbox you can collect and play almost your full library on one console and take advantage of the new hardware.
Yeah, there's some truth here. I will say that one reason to own a PS3 is there's a lot of exclusives still tied to that platform. The Resistance trilogy, Ratchet & Clank Saga, Killzone 2 and 3, LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2 as well as Karting, Motorstorm games and even Metal Gear Solid 4.
I mean they have adapters you can use a ps5 controller or a wired ps4 controller until you jailbreak it then you could use any controller but I love that about Xbox it’s kinda annoying having to have 2 consoles to play everything 3 if you count psp and vita
Xbox 360 only because its my favorite console and even with back wards compat in the Xbox ecosystem you can't beat a real 360 with so many games that aren't back compat
It plays better in the series x tbh but my 360 is for retro games and my ps3 is for ps1/ps2/ps3 games might sell my 360 once I get my 4.90 ps4 since I play most my retro collection on the vita or switch and my Xbox collection I just play on series x
If you have to get only one of them I say PS3, PlayStation store at least in the states still works, PS1 discs work on it, and you can watch Blu-ray on PS3, can't on XBOX 360, and there's more platformers on PS3.
If really comes down to preference. I think there's a good number of games still tied to PS3 like Metal Gear Solid 4, Puppeteer, Resistance Trilogy ECT
@@thegamethrifter I've been playing a ton of Gran Turismo 5 lately myself. A lot of Codemasters classics like Dirt 2 aren't backwards compatible with XBOX One or Series X, so PS3 for me or XBOX 360 both are great options.
Agreed like 90% of all old Xbox games play on the x then look at ps2/3/vita emulation not being good and considering most PS3s are jailbreakable and the ones that aren’t you can still have Hen…vitas are also really nice these days considering you can jailbreak it in 10 seconds been playing Linda Cube on my vita this weekend a very wild game considering just recently we got a fan translation and I’m honestly we mad we didn’t get this game on release
Definitely get both - both systems are relatively inexpensive to collect for and it’s still quite easy to pick up the consoles in decent condition these days. I’ve got a PS3 Slim & a PS3 Super Slim and an Xbox 360 S & Xbox 360 E, I find myself playing more on those systems more than the current generation - looking for games in Gamepass, I find everything just a bit ‘meh’ whilst I still regularly play Gears of War / Halo 3 / Uncharted 2 / God of War 3 on those older consoles. That generation was the pinnacle of gaming - no huge day 1 patches, no endless install times, no games broken at release, no service games with micro transactions. Games were just fun, you just put the disc in and played.
Just to note, there were games broken on release, but it wasn't the norm. For instance, Uncharted 2 and 3 had issues with some of the PS3 revisions unless patched and GT6 was also unplayable without the day one patch. On the other side, I remember RAGE, GTA V and some other games having similar issues. The difference is that you could download those updates and implement them on an offline console, while on newer consoles once they decide to kill servers, those games are done for until somebody hacks a solution.
Ima go with the ps3 just because you can still access and buy so many fantastic and expensive ps1 and ps2 classics for cheap and still play those exclusive ps3 games. Parasite Eve, fatal frame, god hand, the warriors, the adventures of tron bronne, Dino crisis one and two, klonoa etc.
Also the jrpgs are superb on ps3. Star ocean last hope international. Hyperdimension neptunia, Disgea, Dragons crown etc..most run best on ps3.. But Blue dragon and Lost odyssey are awesome on 360
I have the ps3 2nd gen and I love it but also love the 360 an it’s design also contollerss I miss having the white one but I’m thinking of getting the Xbox 360 E model for longer lifespan
Having both is a must imo. PS3 for the exclusives and 360 for everything else. The 360 does also have amazing exclusives though, just not as many. I was a big PS fanboy back then and got into the XB once the slim got released. XB won me over with ease as the Multiplatform games, which make up the majority of games, always played and looked better on the 360. The tiny updates, ability to install games to the hard drive, commitment to backwards compatibility and much higher quality controller also cemented this. 360 won that generation imo. Just a shame Microsoft chose to go with DVD discs as aside from their smaller memory size, they’re nowhere near as durable as Blu-ray Discs so the PS3 wins in that department.
I got my 360 shortly after launch and picked up Madden which was a mistake, PS3 I got the Metal Gear Solid Bundle - good times best generation of gaming
Idk man even modded I barely use mine 😂 if you get one for free or under $100 sure but between $100-$200 you can get a psvita or a ps3 and mod it easily even if you get super slim or non moddable slim ps3 you can get hen on it and around $200-$300 you can get a 4.90 ps4 and jailbreak it or a switch and solder a $5 mod chip on it but if you don’t have a Xbox one or series you might get more out of the 360
Still play the hell out of my 360, PS3 and, Wii too! Even more than my Switch and Series X. Didn't get a PS5 yet. As it just doesn't really make me feel the need to buy one. But yeah, the 6th gen is still amazing. And for me, the 7th gen is the perfect sweet spot. It's the peak of gaming in my opion. Still collect for all three 7th gen systems.
I own a PS5 and Series X and I still play a ton of 360 and PS3 stuff lol There isn't a huge library of games for current gen only that is very appealing IMO
@@thegamethrifter Crazy thing is that black ops 1 etc still hold on graphically exceptionally well on consoles (just finished COD black ops on my xbox 360) imo even today 👍
Both - PS3 has better ease of use nowadays (both if untouched and if modded/with CFW), XBOX 360 has a bit more FPS and better resolution in most multiplats, XBox controller is a bit more robust and confortable in long term use (although I like the feel of PS 2-3-4 molds). Multiplats also tend to be a bit cheaper on XB360 (at least where I live), you can get most of the XB360 games for under 5EUR, and nothing goes above 35EUR unless its a JP import, and PS3 games go on average in the 5-10 EUR range, but with some rarer games reaching 60+ EUR prices (horror games mostly). Iin terms of exclusives, PS3 has more interesting stuff and more stuff in general. Both consoles are great if modded, PS3 is more mod friendly, Xbox has better performing emulators for older gen consoles). I have both and If I had to choose one of them it would be PS3 due to personal preference of games, but the margins are thin and I had only Xbox360 for 2 years and survived just fine :D
Both consoles are great. Ill say ps3 has the edge but at a cost. Skyrim for example is garbage on PS3 theres other cross platform games that dont run good compared to 360. Hardware i like the 360 controller better but that battery life on ps3 (provided you change it years later) is king. Also jailbreaking the ps3 and having a fully backwards compatible ps3 im going to say ps3 is the winner.... BUT you cant go wrong with 360 especially if gaming on a budget even with the prices going up compared to ps3 prices.
Yeah, the multiplatform stuff for sure was an issue. But, you might need a PS3 more in 2024 due to some exclusive games being stuck on that platform. On the other hand, a lot of 360 games will carry with you to newer hardware. So I can see both points!
Yeah multi platform games I stick to pc just because when they update or upgrade the game steam usually gives you the update for free Skyrim and Mafia II for example but I did get the platinum for Skyrim on ps3 pretty wild because if you have CFW you can add some lite esp mods same with Fallout 3/nv same with a modded Xbox but on ps3 they crash after that save hits 15mb so if you want the plat you can only do around 20% of the game before you have to start from scratch
If people are able to they should use both. For some reason I find prices for the same game on one or the other vary considerably. Did you mention the Blu-ray player of the PS3? I think it does a better job playing those than the Series X; so much so I considering bringing it out of retirement. Totally agree on the 360 marketplace; it's an absolute pile. Backwards comp 350 games really do look great on the Series X. Do some even get serious upgrades in content such as DLC etc? So much so that I'm convinced that Kingdoms of Amular Reckoning is the Re-Reckoning version. I'm probably wrong though.
Personally ps3. Love the 360 but its messy signing in to live wich makes achievements hunting messy. Sometimes it logs on perfectly other times it shows error and you hope youre 360 achievements will transfer...some time
This was the last great console war IMO, both consoles really had their own strengths and weaknesses. That said in 2024, I think the PS3 has aged a "little bit" better (I still watch Blu Rays), but you can't go wrong with either.
My problem is space had to get rid of my ps2 and og Xbox now debating getting rid of my modded 360 pretty cool how Xbox you only need the latest console to play everything
I use to love 360 but RROD around Christmas one year left a sour taste in my opinion. But I still play and collect on my PS3. I do have a Xbox1 and Series X but prefer PlayStation as my main console plus the Switch of course.
That’s how felt coming to 360 from the Duke controller but on 360 there is no remedy unless you mod it ps3 always had third party controllers but you can also mod ps3 and vita/tv and use almost anything you want but pc wins that category the only problem is ps2/ps3/vita emulators sucks when all the games you wanna play aren’t supported and runs either slow or fast
Fair enough. For best comparison compare the latest versions with each others. I grow up using PS but later realized that 360 E definitely better than PS3 Super Slim. Wireless consoles out of the box and wifi connection on par with ps4 or better. Its 2024 forget about online games. If I want online gaming, a pc or a ps5 or xbox X is the way to go. Games options wise they are the same almost. I feel easy connectivity on age of 2024 mediocre connectivity is an annoyance we must or should try to ditch. Ps3 and 360 are great especially you can play off the grid vs ps4 and ps5
Thing is, backwards compatibility makes Xbox 360 games that are online very active still. Those old COD games in particular, same with Gears Of War 2 and 3 and Left 4 Dead 2 is super active!
For the actual experience as it was: Xbox 360 For a mod-friendly experience: PS3 If you have a LAUNCH PS3 that plays PS2 you’re in the best shape, if modified that is to avoid hardware failure 🤣
I've always been a Playstation person but I really respect how good the xbox 360 was it had so many good games and it's a tad better but both consoles are good in their own way however I do feel like the ps3 console lasts longer cause the xbox 360 always seemed to have problems overtime especially disc read problems but if I had to choose I'd go xbox 360
It depends on the version of Xbox 360 that you buy. Original consoles are very prone to Red Ring, even today. If you get the slim or E then it's much more reliable.
U should NOT make a video like thus mi us the red ring the 360 Is the best of the 2 price wise and other ....I liked thus video I thought u were a pony making this video ..ur not ..I'm a 22 year EVERY CONSOLE owner so I have ZERO bias....I love both Sony & XBOX ...great video! I own a bunch of PS3's and 360's. I just get asked a lot about them both in 2024. Both are great to collect for. I think the backwards compatibility on newer Xbox's gives an added advantage to collecting 360 games right now.
I did too until 2020 then I got rid of 80% of them I still have all the games in some way but idk not playing them with the original gear is kinda sad/lame but I need space 😂
@@thegamethrifter yes I do agree. I will still collect on the side with my little budget, but at least I know I’ll have all the games in the consoles. And this also helps with the games, not getting scratched.
I'd say get a cheap original Xbox one to get retrocompatibility , ability to play new titles and gamepass as well ass free to play games and a PS3 that can be modded to enjoy exclusives free online and some jrpg titles!
ps3 for me like killzone 2 nothing could not touch it then uncharted 1 then 2 drop then 3 then last of us was blown away same with mgs4 not all multiplatform games ran better on 360 final fantasy 13 gtav marvel vs capcom 3 portal 2 to name a few .as for gt 5 was best simulator game for that gen .
SOCOM was my main game since consoles had online play main reason I got a ps3 was socom confrontation and mgs4 but mgs4 has graphics still stand up today is pretty wild just wish I could get it working on pc without its notorious crashes but 60FPS it’s like a new game
Not even fair comparison.. XSX got like 800 or so backwards titles, more actually probably being added. Lots of XBOX 360 titles they have, ENHANCED. so why need a x360 xbox side.... BUTT I get what this video is about somebody caring JUST about 360/ps3 gen titles.
I mean technically there’s around only 633 backwards compatibility out of the 2,155 games and only around 75/76+ og xbox games are compatible on xbox one and series x
@@lewisgrant7622damn I didn’t think it was that many 😂 but my only older Xbox games I play the og ones and the exclusive ones the multi plat games I play on pc unless I want the achievements or trophies now I feel like I should see what exclusives I can’t play and maybe hold on to my 360 because I’m not soldering and desoldering a flasher ever again in my life
Honestly if you’re not modding them no real reason for a 360 since even the x can play the games but honestly ps2 emulators are bad 😂 but jailbroken ps3s solve that problem also easier to jail break a ps3 modding a 360 is rough af even harder or at least more work than modding a switch but I also recommend people to get a psvita
The Series X can't play every Xbox 360 game, only about 650 or so. Many great games are still tied to the console. I have a Vita, but I enjoy collecting for it too!
@@thegamethrifter had both since the beginning although the PS3 was pretty much just a blue Ray player the 1st year as Lair, Resistance, Heavenly Sword, and Dark Kingdom were not the most involved games. I own 3 of each (PS3 Slim & 2xSS then a red ring OG & 2xElite 360s). When I move into my new space I’m going to hook up one SS, Elite, and Switch to a CRT in the office primarily for the Indie games then leave the other SS, Elite, PS4, and XB1 on the LED in living room with the OG 360 and PS3 mini on standby.
If I had a one or the other scenario for sure ps3 since I haven’t put a disc in my series x that didn’t work yet plus the load times and gameplay feels way better with it but after playing some ps3 and ps2 games on a emulator it was clear I will still have my ps3 for awhile yet 😂 luckily the ps3 modding team and community are fucking beasts that 4.91 update came out they said bet…pretty wild how they added a ps3 ofw update in 2024 like why waste the resources

Due to that the Xbox 360 also had Call Of Duty 2 as a console exclusive! Saints Row 1 was also exclusive to 360 because of this!
@@Meh-ti4nk Yea, I always recommend both consoles when possible
Another great video!! Thank you! If I'm allowed to critique, I would've liked to see pictures of the consoles when you talked about what versions you prefer. You and I both know what they look like, but for newbies, it'd be cool to say, THIS is the one I like, get this one. Maybe next time, up to you. Great video!!
Will take that in advisement! Sometimes it takes a while to put these videos together and so I'm usually trying to fit as much as I can into them.
Ideal to get both IMO. At some point, and likely soon, the PS3 store will close as well.
At this point it comes down to modding considering both consoles are currently in the gutter
360 you can change the dashboard and keep the kernel and get new online servers added
The collection scene on PS3 and 360 is incredible!
I completely agree with your statement on not seeing the console wars as a legit thing. They both offer great features/games but to sit there and waste breath for one over the other is dumb.
Truth!
I mean today the first two Xboxes are pretty much just that boxes last time I used my 360 was two months ago for some smash melee and diddy cart
I agree collect both, so that way you can get the exclusive games
It's always a good idea to get both!
The 7th gen was just a special time for gaming.
Both Sony and Microsoft need to make single storefronts for all their games, and which system you're on determines what you have access to, so there'd be no need to shut them down.
I agree, I've been trying to get as many on the 360 as possible but the store runs horribly
I own 3 ps3s two og ps2 models a slim and a xbox360 slim
Nice to see so many people collect!
I'm about to buy a xbox360 for about $50. I could pay 20 more for the Kinect, but I have 2 questions.
1. Is Kinect even worth it or is it just a collectors thing? I really dk about collecting, just playing
2. Im want to step back from modern consoles/pc and craving for an offline experience. Can you use your 360 without connecting to the internet? I just want to put in a disk and sit back and play.
It depends if you like being the controller or not
I have 3 E model 360's. 1 fat and 2 slim PS3. Hoping they last me a long time.
There's a good chance they'll last a very long time with proper ventilation and care!
Only reason my first 360 died is because I used cheap solder that melted away from the points and red ringed it then my first dead ps3 was from artic silver 5 thermal paste either used too much or didn’t let it settle long enough and it got on the motherboard and shorted it now I use non conductive paste 😂
U lucky man. I bought a brand new xbox 360 model slim. Just in case. I just love this piece of console
@@thegamethrifter Motorstorm was a truly exceptional and spectacular ps3 game that i will remember for the rest of my life. i just love this game.
@@trinitymatrix9719 Was just playing it today. BlackSite Area 51. Cool game. That gen has so many stories and solid action.
Yeah, can't go wrong with both!
Can Pc Emulate 360 Games? Like PS3
Some, I suppose.
I’d be more worried about ps2 games tried to play SSX tricky on a ps2 emulator and let’s just say I’d rather buy a ps3 and mod it than play some ps2 games on a emulator but rcps3 has been bringing online games back
All bangers. Banger generation. Gears of War vs Resistance miss those days
The new IP that gen were amazing!
Gears Of War
Resistance
Uncharted
Assassins Creed
Left 4 Dead
Mass Effect
Dead Space
Dragon Age
Bioshock
Saints Row
Which one has better resolution?
Pretty much all games favor Xbox 360 in this area.
Played both, love both, wanna own both one day
It's best to own both!
Ps3 for exclusives, for free online and free games with Hen/CFW
Really can't go wrong!
I want to buy both of them!
Both are easy to collect for!
Modded 360s and ps3s are cheap on eBay
ps3 because u can mod it no hardware modification just software tweak. a lot of games run better on the 360. someone gifted the 360 so i got them both
Can't go wrong either way!
Faxxx not to even mention pkgi be feeling like a kid in a candy shop with infinite money
Xbox 360 only because its my favorite console and even with back wards compat in the Xbox ecosystem you can't beat a real 360 with so many games that aren't back compat
The fact that you can play a lot of 360 games on newer Xbox's is alluring for sure!
Not that many aren’t backwards compatible but yeah it sucks I just hate having like 10 consoles laying all over the place
Right now I have both consoles hooked up to my tv. Right now the PS3 has Metal Gear Solid 4 in it, and the Xbox 360 has Morrowind in it.
Absolutely win/win!
Love both but If I have to pick one, 360 it is
Can't go wrong!
Can't disagree with that!
The difference is that you could download those updates and implement them on an offline console, while on newer consoles once they decide to kill servers, those games are done for until somebody hacks a solution.
whichever you choose is a solid choice amazing catalog and great exclusives, if you can get both do it
Totally agree!
360 for multi plats and better exclusives imo.
Can't really go wrong!
BOTH
Can't go wrong!
Forza Horizon 1 is amazing! And it has the Stone Roses on the soundtrack...that's always a great thing.
Probably my favorite racing game all time!
Can't go wrong really!
I have both ❤
Me too! It's the best of both worlds really!
Also the jrpgs are superb on ps3. Star ocean last hope international. Hyperdimension neptunia, Disgea, Dragons crown etc..most run best on ps3.. But Blue dragon and Lost odyssey are awesome on 360
Great RPG's all around!
I have the ps3 2nd gen and I love it but also love the 360 an it’s design also contollerss I miss having the white one but I’m thinking of getting the Xbox 360 E model for longer lifespan
Can't go wrong with that!
Can't go wrong honestly!
I got my 360 shortly after launch and picked up Madden which was a mistake, PS3 I got the Metal Gear Solid Bundle - good times best generation of gaming
Absolutely great time!
I'd say both, the ps3 & xbox 360 offer great games on exclusives for both platforms. Gen 7 was a great time for gaming 😊👌🏾💯
I agree 100%, it's my all time favorite generation!
I Should Buy Xbox 360 This Year
ABSOLUTELY!
I own a PS5 and Series X and I still play a ton of 360 and PS3 stuff lol
There isn't a huge library of games for current gen only that is very appealing IMO
@@thegamethrifter Crazy thing is that black ops 1 etc still hold on graphically exceptionally well on consoles (just finished COD black ops on my xbox 360) imo even today 👍
@@trinitymatrix9719 There's still an online community too!
Both -
PS3 has better ease of use nowadays (both if untouched and if modded/with CFW),
XBOX 360 has a bit more FPS and better resolution in most multiplats,
XBox controller is a bit more robust and confortable in long term use (although I like the feel of PS 2-3-4 molds). Multiplats also tend to be a bit cheaper on XB360 (at least where I live),
you can get most of the XB360 games for under 5EUR, and nothing goes above 35EUR unless its a JP import, and PS3 games go on average in the 5-10 EUR range, but with some rarer games reaching 60+ EUR prices (horror games mostly).
Yeah, it comes down to preference. I always say it's best to have both.
Yea, pretty nice Blu-ray player on PS3. I think at the end of the day it's a great time to collect for both.
BOTH!
Ideally, YES!
Personally ps3. Love the 360 but its messy signing in to live wich makes achievements hunting messy.
Sometimes it logs on perfectly other times it shows error and you hope youre 360 achievements will transfer...some time
You can get Achievements offline and then connect and it'll add them to the online profile!
This was the last great console war IMO, both consoles really had their own strengths and weaknesses. That said in 2024, I think the PS3 has aged a "little bit" better (I still watch Blu Rays), but you can't go wrong with either.
Both were great, and absolutely my favorite console generation!
My problem is space had to get rid of my ps2 and og Xbox now debating getting rid of my modded 360 pretty cool how Xbox you only need the latest console to play everything
@@zsweetxdreamzz8224 Can only play about 53 original Xbox games on Series X and only 650 Xbox 360 games or so. So, it's not every game.
Why i had a xbox360 for many years the $499 and sony still didnt learn the lesson with the ps5 pro.
Well the Pro is powerful, but expensive. The lack of first party content for it really hurt though.
I have a 360 and a ps2.
Don't know how people play multiple consoles.
therd are so many games!
A TON OF GAMES!
I use to love 360 but RROD around Christmas one year left a sour taste in my opinion. But I still play and collect on my PS3. I do have a Xbox1 and Series X but prefer PlayStation as my main console plus the Switch of course.
The newer 360's were much better, but I would still recommend new thermal paste on 360's and PS3's. It'll help them last longer.
PS3's controller gives me instacramp. It doesn't matter what games are on a system, if the controller sucks...its deal breaker.
It felt like a step down for sure, but there's actually adapters for PS3 to use an Xbox 360 controller!
There's a few third-party controllers that work really well.
For the actual experience as it was: Xbox 360
For a mod-friendly experience: PS3
If you have a LAUNCH PS3 that plays PS2 you’re in the best shape, if modified that is to avoid hardware failure 🤣
There's really no loser IMO, both have some awesome games!

Third party joysticks, graphics and games

Limited backward compatibility depending on the model. Fun note, the Xbox 360 had a good number of original Xbox BC titles as well!
PS3 until I die 💯
Can't go wrong! Also, new rumor suggests Sony is actively working on PS3 native backward compatibility with the PS5. So that'd be a huge win!
