- We are going to show our most recent project we been working on, a tuning stage onto DT125X engine riding on open road.
In this video you can learn:
-how to check ignition timing
-how to change OEM ignition timing
-Carburetor setup
Stay tuned for part 3 we aiming to reach 25-30 HP.

Great vidio and nice ride
Big fan!
My friend used to have one with a big bore kit i think it was 180cc if i remember rightly and he used to leave my type s civic sitting while on the back wheel 😂 great bikes unfortunately like gold dust now and insurance companies dont wanna touch you because there over the 15hp limit
We want more !!!!!! 🙏🏻
Waiting for Dyno shops to open again =)
@@JLMotorsport my set up is
Top perfomance krukas
Athena 170cc + port tuning
EBC permanent clutch
Vforce v4 reeds
At the moment stock 28mm carb
At the moment dep exhaust
Waiting on custom exhaust
And carb ;) love this video’s
If u have a free dyno I would love to come for fine tuning :)
@@AdriftersLife that sounds like a spicy project ! dyno's in UK are quite expensive.
What is the size sprocket kit?
Isso pede mesmo ai a valvula a trabalhar!! Fica altamente. Ja tive assim uma preparação parecida 🤣
Your neighbours must love you lol
I have a dt200r but it is not fast, it has a 28mm carb, do you think a 30mm will get more power?
they do 🤣
@@dannymiester5825 Sure, the bigger the better. But if you have everything else stock, its just not worth it.
i think its running lean on idle, you see how it hold rpm high then lowers it.
Great videos bud! I put a 30mm pwk on my 200r with a wr200 pipe and I was wondering what jets to start with? What size jets are you using?
Start with 160-170 and try to lean it 5 points each time.
I'll start with a 170 and plug chop and work my way down if need be, what pilot roughly do you think?, I thought maybe start with 40 or 42
hey my friend where did you get the extractor for the startor ?
Un video poniendo un rotor , seria muy interesante :)
ua-cam.com/video/RnZrHjOiVbQ/v-deo.html
I use the same pwk carb and it sounds that it could do much more. The power has to load a bit for me. Was there any full throttle with full power? Regards
when you add a carb this size, you are increasing the quantity of air and fuel, so it means more time to burn, you might to increase the advance timing, but be careful, cause advance can eat your piston alive :)
Amazing! Where did you got the stock ignition curve from? I have a Zeeltronic Cdi on mine and need a save map for the first startup.
Have a look during the video I show it there. But you can get it from haynes handbook.

Obrigado

@@anapaulapereira3255 É um dos videos que possivelmente vamos abordar em breve caso haja interesse dos nossos subscritores.
@@JLMotorsport tava a ver baracing dtr 125 a 208kh a milha dtr ta sen valvula
Este motor esta so retificado a 56,40mm, ou seja praticamente original.
Boas pessoal, que graus de admissão e escape isso está? Pra só boosts e colaça taxada isso está a andar mesmo muita bem... parabéns
É que taxa e squish estão a usar?
We are using STD intake and exhaust timings as well as cylinder head. Only added 2 auxiliary ports to the exhaust.
Hi mate do you not need woodraff key after advancing the timing as fort it would just turn on crank or come loose and what gains you get from advancing it
The woodroof key is just to quickly assemble the flywheel. what really holds it together is the conical fitting, if you ever used a flywheel puller before you will know very well what I mean. ( Racing ignitions do not have woodroof keys)
@@JLMotorsport oh don’t they I’ve never known that cheers. So what do you gain from advancing the timing more revs?
@@djCarterboi25 depending on your carb/ cylinder setup you will gain loads more power/torque and revs. (be careful, it can seize your engine)
@@JLMotorsport I currently run 170 anthenna kit 32mm carb hopefully getting a stainless pipe this week
What piston did you use was it stock bore ?
Stock bore is 56mm, I used a 56,40 Wossner in this engine.
I have had 4 Yamaha DT125R, an a YZ 250 1991 but in new condition, I would pick my best DT125R, more fun than the YZ ,the YZ was brutal ,x race bike 2 fast and heavy , plus you don’t need to wear boots with a DT R, the older gen was better than the DT X , I don’t know why they changed it
Is this build using a power valve servo ?
Atm is pinned at fully open position.
@@JLMotorsport what makes better power, having the servo working or having it fully pinned open ?
@@archiewalters1785 we will figure it out in a dyno session
Stay tuned for part 3
@@JLMotorsport when you releasing part 3
What exhaust is that?
Its fully custom made by us.
Hand crafted one, fully stainless 👌
@@JLMotorsport Sounds and looks great!
@@ludovitch9527 yes Indeed 👌🏻
Won't the flywheel just spin as no key?
The woodroof key is just to make it easier to assembly it (massive production) What makes it to lock in place is the conical taper on the shaft. (if you ever removed a flywheel you will know what I mean)
Thanks for the reply.
I thought you needed a key.
I have learnt something new today.
How much does it cost to do the same as what you have done to the dtr?
@@Johnwick-vw5ox under 1000 quid you can do something similar.
I bought my own dt125re 1 year ago
Still cant make it start 😢
Pain for living in 3rd world country
Why are u running open carb?
yes
@@JLMotorsport crazy ...
Hey wich Carb do you have on it?
Keihin PWK 34mm
@@JLMotorsport how do you put the 34 in the connector?
@@doublet5755 you have to mill the original intake.
Why not just buy a adjustable cdi and do it that way. Removing the metal piece from the crankshaft to put the flywheel in an other position isn't the most safe way. I saw engines where the flywheel got lose at high rpm and damaged the crank.
I mean it still should have lights so why dont you buy a mvt ignition, Zeeltronic
Hi, This is a budget build, custumer doesnt want to spend to much in this project that's why. if we had used a racing ignition we should get even more power out of it.
Flywheel key does not hold the flywheel is only there to make ignition timing easy and accurate.
@@JLMotorsport That isnt your bike and your hammering it lol ledgend
