I love this episode! As a single parent, I have to put my selfcare first. I pray, I work out, and I mediate. Also, unlearning hyperindependence and asking for help when necessary. I am learning to say no and not overwhelm myself when I'm feeling drained 😢

I completely understand it's on both sexes how we got here. I remember having to be independent and get sh.. done because I was a single parent. When I moved in with my then fiancé now husband I was beyond relieved to let him take over things. It was such a relief to not have to handle everything!!!! He allows me to be stay in my femininity and softness. He pours into me so I can be his wife the way it was intended. The last 13 years has been the best of my life. My daughter also saw and experience how a man is supposed to lead and treat a woman as well. My husband has shown by his actions I can trust his decisions to lead our family. That is all women want 💯.

Hey Crystal I loved this episode talking about the soft life.
It was something that I needed to hear. I am a 60 y/o that raised 3 kids.Sixteen years ago my only daughter passed after giving birth to a beautiful baby girl. Who I have been raising since birth. I
Love her dearly wouldn’t had it no other way. She’s now at the age where she doesn’t want to spend the summer going to her dad. Summer was my only break. So this episode has shown me ways to take time out for myself and tap in to my soft side.
Thank you so much and God Bless!

I laughed so much when Crystal talking to her imaginary guy 🤣🤣🤣especially the ending. Here are takeaways/keeps from today's episode.
    1. Create your soft life, we ain't got to wait on a guy to have the soft life you deserve. You establishing your definition of your soft will be the standard of the guy you entertain to help continue to achieve and live in your softy.
    2. As women we tend to get lost in the nurturing part of us towards others, at time neglecting we too need to nurtured to nurture. We ought to set a balance between work life, home life and social life that will give us the opportunity to breathe femininity.
    3. Know what you need your partner to be able to provide you with in order for you to feel safe and do not accept nothing less.
    4. To be able to live in your most authentic self is being able to live in your soft life.
    5. As mom to a beautiful 3yrs young daughter, I want to be the example of how she should want to her life to be like. I don't really have much of a feminine side to me now and as you said that is definitely from the life I had to endure, well partially still enduring but I am working towards that change for myself and for my child.
    6. Only you can define your definition of your soft life, don't look at what others are doing especially those on the internet. Your softy won't look like anyone else's. Keep it "honorable", and "soft" sweetie.
For me I'm growing through establishing what my soft life looks like and going through working towards it. My keep it "blank" is keep authentic sweetie.
Another great episode Crys thank you. God bless😇💝❤🙏

This past 6 months is the first time I have been single, and unmarried since I was 24 years old. I’m 46 now.
I am now trying to figure out what I want, what I like, and who I want to be the rest of my life. I didn’t even enjoy my 20”s, 30”s, or 40”s this far! Shameful. I’m loving finally being single.
My youngest child will be of the legal “grown”, age in 24 months. God willing.
I feel like starting a new career, getting more education, staying in the gym, and enjoying my life as single.
I have had some good experiences with my ex-husband who passed away this January.
    I’m widowed.
I’m still grieving, but I discovered I am enjoying being single again.
Thank you for sharing your softness.

Love this podcast! My advice to the Mom who wrote in would be to start small with doing things for yourself. You can also include your kids. They love Mommy so teach them how you want to be treated and how they can help themselves instead of coming to Mommy first. It’s never to late to start this…the key is to just start!

Watching this just made me cry because I put the world on my shoulders when it comes to my kids. I was told by a man I was dating I'm self absorbed and arrogant because I told him I believe in self care and solo dates because we need that sometimes. So any way he broke up with me because he felt solo dates and self care is for single people. I feel like he's co-dependent and he don't have kids so he don't have a clue of what I go through

Crystal was cracking me up talking to her future man lol 😆 Continue to speak it into existence girl! 🙌🏾 I think we all deserve a form of the soft life, whatever that looks like to each one of us. You definitely hit the nail on the head when you said women often take on these masculine roles or what is assumed that a man should traditionally do, because we do not trust them to do it or they have not proven themselves capable. And definitely a lot of what we see growing up can also effect the way we handle certain situations, so there are some things that may need to be unpacked perhaps in therapy and maybe some unlearning of behaviors that might not be so beneficial to us. Thanks for another insightful episode 🫶🏾

I felt you on this episode and I feel like we could be cool friends in real life. I am blessed to have a mother who has always been feminine so that is how she raised me. Several of the men in my life over the years have complimented me on how they like the fact that I have a lady and know how to allow a man to be the man. It's a skillset that does have to be worked on though! And self care is of the upmost importance to make sure you can stay balanced. Massages, therapy, sleep, exercise, worship and prayer are all things that truly help me. Thanks for this episode Crystal. And you keep speaking that man into existence. On January 1st I met Him thats what I knew when I met him that he was Him. Everything I wrote down n prayed for is this mans character. My 1st thing was a man after Gods own heart. When I say God is good He is . I wanted a tall man as well because Im 5'11, God delivered because my Bae is 6'9... God gave me the desires of my heart. I have waited for this kind of love my whole adult life. God's timing is never wrong. Continue to keep your faith and trust God ladies. In September all I heard was suddenly and swiftly. I never imagined that it would happened so soon yet God is a promise keeper. I just had to share because you sound so much like me when I was waiting on the one God made just for me. ❤

Hello Crystal, You mentioned previously on one of your podcast, that you weren’t sure about starting this podcast. Well thank you for stepping out on Faith. When you pray. Let my light so shine, that men(women) may see my good works and you(God) get to GLORY to God. You are doing just that. Through what you are doing sharing your testimonies you are touching so many women. Young and old. Giving encouragement to keep PUSHING. That we all make mistakes, because we are human. But when we have that spiritual relationship with God and work on our self love and loving others, it helps. So thanks again for being open. The world need more young ladies like you. May the blessings you share to others fall back on you.

So don't do the things you want done right, make other people do them because 'muh soft life', 'muh femininity'. I wonder if this very trend is why women make less comparatively to men worldwide? 🤔

2 minutes in and this reminds me of a book called "Black Girls must die exhausted" which shows the struggle trying to do everything and be everything for everyone and being so depleted at the end of life.

It was my own daughter that brought it to my attention that I was being too strong or masculine as a woman. She told me to ask my male companion to do some of the stuff around the house and stop wearing myself out trying to do it all. I already knew that but I was use to doing it all myself. It's always been just my daughter and I, so I had no choice. I finally asked him and he gladly started doing my yard and other things that I asked. We're no longer together but I've learned to take care of me 1st and keep up my softer side.

*listened to a bit of the background and pausing before going to finish the video*
I've been on a journey to embracing my feminine self over the past 5 or so years and watching SO many videos on what amounts to this topic by creators of all sorts of different backgrounds (including reading books). The resources along my journey have NEVER been limited to just WW, but I only learned the term Soft Life this week. I feel like it's the perfect term to encapsulate the sort of lifestyle life I've been striving for newrly half my adult life, but I was a little confused as to why when I searched the term specifically only black creators showed up. 😂 I'm glad I'm watching your video. Thank you for sharing the background as to why this term exists. While many of the lifestyle aims are the same (a peaceful life, easy, free of drama, a safe inviting and clean home, a splash of luxury here and there, etc) I now know to be very thoughtful and intentional when using specifically the term Soft Life so I don't appropriate it.
    *Resumes watching the video*

🥰 I can relate to all that was said. Even talking to my imaginary man.😂. I love it. Yes I agree we need to give ourselves more grace and we can be more compassionate with others and still be true to ourselves and not sacrifice our own peace and joy to make another person comfortable. Finding the balance of the masculine and feminine energy that is within all of us . Thank you for sharing!
