@@GBJJEmilio i dont like the first draft completely. it was ok but using your highest pick to get a qb that low never made sense to me.. but they struck gold a few years later so it work out. at the time i figure we were going to lose so i wanted a player that would have more perm impact like a pass defender or some such.
@@Marveryn It was worth the risk, they only had a 3rd round pick and there wasn't a player that was going to be an impact at any other position in that round. So they can draft a QB, see if they can get lucky. If not then maybe he can be a backup and at worse all you have lost is a 3rd round pick.

Heck he balled out in the playoffs, while with Minn, with a backup named Keenum, you may know him. Then went to Buf and turned Allen into one of the better QB's in the league, even with all his turnovers. So I think he will do just fine, with Stroud in HOU. Time will tell...

As a Bills fan I wondered how long it would take. It did not last with the Vikes. So I wondered how long it would take in Buffalo. Bills ditched the cancer in the room. The Bills learned the hard way that Diggs is a drama queen and has an attitude problem. The Bills got nowhere with Bills in the post season and nowhere in the second half of the season last year. They had to get rid of him and reset. The Chiefs got rid of Tyreek Hill and Mahomes proved his worth without him. Now Josh Allen will need to do the same.
I was confused by this, but the more I’ve been thinking, this makes sense. This gives them ammo to move up and trade for Brian Thomas or AD Mitchell if they want. Kincaid, Shakir and Cook carried this team down the stretch and Diggs and Davis didn’t contribute much of anything so this helps them in the long run. Diggs also never showed up in the playoffs

Or last year when Allen single handed dragged the Bills against the Chiefs, when the Bills defense gave up a score on every possession but one? Allen scored the 2nd post points against the Chiefs in the entire season in that game. It’s not Allen’s fault that the Bills defense gives up an average of 33 points in the past 4 playoff losses

If Tee Higgins goes to the Bills his draft stock will go way up. Everyone is already talking about him having a good year with Burrow being back, he'll have an even better year with Allen if he's their WR1 and not having to compete against Chase.

I think you're seeing the emerging business model - if you want to have a franchise QB, you're going to go light everywhere else to fit the cap. But if you can get a very good QB on rookie contract, that gives you remarkable flexibility to bring in veteran talent everywhere else. And it might be easier to do the latter and keep cycling through rookie QBs than it is to try and fill 52 roster spots with real contributors with a ton of cap room eaten up by the QB.
Once Texans have to pay for CJ, then we follow the KC model. Keep the defense strong, but on offense, expect your QB to elevate young WRs.
Chiefs lose Hill and Mahomes goes on to win a SB, so now we get to see how Josh Allen does in a very similar situation, since so many people think he's just as good as Mahomes.

All the playmakers in Buffalo last year were not Diggs.
His absence will still have a huge affect on their offensive production though. He at least commanded attention from defenses, helping spread out the field for other receivers to make plays. Without such a threat on the outside we may see an increase in turnovers and decrease in production

Diggs had 108 receptions in 2022. In 2023 diggs had 107 receptions 1,183 yards and 8 touchdowns. Saying diggs was productive for 5% of the season last year is laughable and absurd.

This move makes Texans an automatic contender now. With the offense sorted and complete, they can now use the draft to improve an already improving defense. Not far off making the AFC Championship match and as long as their starters all stay healthy they have a softer division and a good schedule.

I like this Texans team. One of my new favorite AFC teams I root for.
As soon as the Bills fired their OC, Diggs was a non factor the rest of the season. They schemed him out of Buffalo and kept winning. They also kept that OC, Diggs needs targets and attention lol
Diggs had the most targets on the team when he wasn’t producing. He was always their number one target.
