I remember the first time I heard this great song. It was the Stamps Quartet that sang it at my church.
I got the guys I sang with at church to learn it and we sang it for a long time. I am 70 now and still sing for my Lord and my lovely wife. I don't sing as well but God still sees my heart in the songs I sing.
This song brings me to tears every time! When he says "I can almost hear my Father say "Son go get my children......" whew.....the floodgates really open. The love that God has for US is so overwhelming and felt to my core in that wording.

This is worship! Oh, this pleases God and He enjoys it as much as we enjoy giving to Him as well. This is what it means to 'minister' to the Lord. Imagine that. We can bless God! Wow, wow, wow! How does that happen. Well, we are made in His image and like a child tells his or her parent "I love you Mom, I love you Dad," that means a lot to their parents to hear those words. God loves to hear our words of love and obedience. That really shows our love for Him, our obedience! He loves us too, MORE THAN WE CAN EVER COMPREHEND! BEYOND OUR WILDEST DREAMS AND IMAGINATION.
He does crazy love us, look at this magnificent world...all of the intricate details He spoke into being...our finite minds can't comprehend but what we can do is worship and theres not a better song to do it to. Anything Ivan sings is good. He has a style and power to his voice that is hard for others to match on certain songs. I actually prefer his version of I Can Only Imagine over Mercy Me's version. And MM is the original artist.

I can’t stop listening to this awesome song. I had them sing it at my mothers funeral! I miss her and will see her again. Soon I think. Prophecy is being fulfilled all around us.🙏 My mother was full of the Holy Spirit. She was so kind and loved Jesus so. She lived to be 90!!.
I’m sitting in my car in the Walmart parking lot at almost 10pm. I had a shopping list ready but decided that I don’t feel like going in there tonight after all. My husband was being very crabby when I left the house so I don’t want to go back home yet either. Since I live only 5 minutes away from Walmart, I can easily come back tomorrow. Feeling a little low now, I decided to play Midnight Cry and listen to Ivan’s incredible voice speak to my soul. With my iPhone’s volume turned all the way up, I sang along with Ivan at the top of my lungs - since the parking lot is kind of deserted on this side. Afterwards I decided to scroll through some of the comments here and came across yours. I was surprised to see that you wrote it only 12 days ago since this video is 11 years old. I couldn’t believe what you shared about your dear 90 year old mother. Because the Lord just called my 85 year old father home to Heaven only 18 days ago. Ever since he passed this encouraging song Midnight Cry has been constantly playing in my mind. Like you said, I just can’t stop listening to it. I miss my Dad greatly but yes, will see him again - hopefully soon. He was a retired Baptist pastor and was also full of the Holy Spirit, as your mother was. Our steadfast hope of the resurrection in Christ Jesus is daily sustaining me and my family. I want to offer you my condolences and say that I share in your joy and peace that we will see our parents again one glorious day!

She had a big influence on my sons too. They are grown men now. 52 and 49. She went home in 2009. God bless you in your life. Keep looking up. Jesus loves us.

Other Christian are being persecuted for reading the Bible on the streets during the “alphabet “ pride month. That takes away free speech. Christians were persecuted during Covid because they held meetings outside with wide berth between people and wearing masks. It’s all about control. Those who hate wisdom love death according to Scripture. I’m on the side of the Bible. Newsome is following wickedness. His state is a literal mess.
