    The path or the spirit guides you, call it what you want but there's no need to rush or worry. Go with the flow. Things will work themselves out. This is the spiritual path. I gotten very far just by trusting my intuition and letting things work themselves out within me.

    The clarity, the analytical and experiential guidance used by Rupert in all his talks, contemplations and mediations provide an opportunity for even the most scientific minded to finally embrace the Non-Dual teaching. God, spirituality or whatever one wishes to label it is no longer only available to the strictly devotional type.

    This is very good because within the first 10 minutes he is clearly defining what he means when he uses words like "sensations" and "perceptions". Like with the word "mind" you really need to clearly articulate what part of the human experience of reality you are referring to. Rupert Spira is like Mr. Existential-Phenomenology! It is absolutely wild how he is able to speak of such things so clearly and simply and in a contemporary manner.

    what's interesting about spirituality for me is that that it's like a science it requires to understand and really pay attention every detail so u better understanding whole meaning. before i thought spirituality was some kind of thing created based on beliefs, like any other religion.
    im very into it
    also im not blinded just by looking at it like science, only learning and understanding theory will not work, it should be experienced. so with all these awarenesses or knowing u are going to FREE yourself from the mind, in MEDITATION
    its like reading books and learning about love u can think u know what love is but unless u don't experience it u will never know

    It isn't out there. It is all within.

    It seems 'I' is a sound, a word given to the subjective sensation that accompanies all experiences. This subjectiveness is essential to protect the physical organism in the physical environment but with the evolution of language brain is trapped into ending the sensation in psychological space-time.

    12:07 if i may ... a hint to help understand where Rupert is taking you. That to which he reffers sounds like the state when you faint. In between the state when you were aware, everything went out, you cant say anything about it because you were unconscious. That primal state of non existence, non awareness, darkness (not knowing). it is impossible to experience it. Only when you look back at it, that void, that time span when you were unconscios, is how you can see it. but you all probably already knew that LOL if you then look at it as death, you see why it has no dimensions, no existence, but by experience it gets its existens, it happens. Fainting happens, total oblivion of deep sleep occurs. Going now out of my depth i can conclude that it is the cradle of existence, pure potentiality, although in that pure state nothing exists. From that state everything arises and returns back to it. That line of thinking actually brings sense to everything for me. And it's dissapointingly simple. Because we all knew that already, only we were trying to escape it, thinking, i can not die, i will be forever. I am forever. Even if you do now go to the idea, hey i am consciousness, i am eternal, when you finally meet with truth eye to eye, and you know that the primal state of who you are is consciousness, you are looking at the non existence, total absence, a void, the darkness, not knowing, no awareness. That is who you are both as ego and as your true nature. It really zakes time to digest it once you see it. But it also makes perfect sense

    It is done unto you as you believe! The way you are referring to knowing here seems to me to be a program,a belief. Your thoughts are based on your beliefs. There is a witness to these thoughts and beliefs. It’s like a tape recorder,it doesn’t refute the content. Inner silence is necessary to go beyond the programming.

    I agree with Aeon tv comment. I is a thought related to body/mind. awareness is beyond.

    • @atmannityananda-academia
      @atmannityananda-academia 8 років тому

      +SongOfCelestia Duality and nonduality is just words. While the ego energy exists in you the identification with body and mind is unavoidble. Awareness has nothing to do with the ego so to name the ego and awareness with the same word the ´I is unapropriate.

    • @besacb9694
      @besacb9694 8 років тому +3

      There's is a simple reason that people use the same word I for the ego and the self. People are aware. They have a sense of I, i.e. that they ARE. But that light of consciousness is the Self. There is no higher self besides a lower self, there is no false self next to the real self. There's only the self. The ego borrows its light from the self.

    'I' and ' mine' is the name of ego. Truth or awareness has nothing to do with any personal or individual attribute.
    Is better to utilise other label for Truth because people use the I' for their body-mind identity.

    • @atmannityananda-academia
      @atmannityananda-academia 8 років тому +2

      +SongOfCelestia awareness is not an I; it is not personal or individual. The I is used only to define an individual.
      I, you, we, they etc. are used to define persons. awareness is not a person, is not the individual.
      the ego is an illusion in the sense that is not eternal, it is not present in the three states of consciousness.
      but as long as the ego energy exists in us we cannot pretend that does not exist. This is false understanding.
      we have to practice a lot to dissolve the ego from our psych.
      we call this ego as I and people are used to this term. that's why for people who are identified with the ego it is not appropriate to tell them that awareness is the I.

    • @atmannityananda-academia
      @atmannityananda-academia 8 років тому +4

      +SongOfCelestia let see it from another point of you. not only ego is an illusion but our body also is an illusion, yet we have to deal with it. we cannot ignore its existence as long this body is alive. the world is also an illusion but we have to deal, we cannot pretend that does not exist although it is an illusion.
      the very fact that we are incarnated in this world and in this body is because of ego. if we had not ego then we would not be here in a body. Thus, to say that ego is an illusion does not make it disappear in a moment.
      only those who have dissolved the ego totally and are established in their essence, (awareness) only those are free from the ego and the world is an illusion. for the rest who have an ego the body and the world are real although they may negate it mentally.

    • @atmannityananda-academia
      @atmannityananda-academia 8 років тому +3

      +SongOfCelestia one more thing very important is that Spira says that ego is only a thought which is totally absurd, it has nothing to do with what ego is. If ego was only a thought then very easily we could dissolve it, but it is not so.
      Ego or I is a field of energy crystallized in our psych from time immemorial and its main aspect is lust and desire. Anger, fear, greed, jealousy etc.are all energy, and is the ego energy itself that assumes these forms. So, ego and anger are not two different things or two different energies; they are the same ego-energy that like a chameleon modifies according the circumstances as pride, lust, desire, passion, anger, fear, depression, etc.

      +AeonTv You keep mentioning ego, if its just an illusion in your experience, then i would say you wouldnt feel the need to mention this ego illusion so much. therefore i can guess that what you speak of is something you read somewhere and its not your direct experience. why did i say all this? certainly not to waste your time or mine , i would just encourage you go come to your own conclusions by contemplating your subjective experience, with the help of the direct pointings like the ones in the video and many other of his videos, mainly using the questions, am i aware? .. and going to the experience of that and staying there as long and as frequently as possible. another similar n good teacher is Peter Brown - radiant presence. good luck

    It seems that knower even though ever present with unchanging quality of knowing...it misses objects ...like when i am watching a beautiful sunset, i dont notice certain thoughts. When i am endorsed in some thought, i mechanically drove my car from office to home without feeling sensations at my feet operating breaks or accelerating pedal.
    Did knower miss noticing certain objects? Can it be overwhelmed with objects of all type in large volumes?

      A body/mind does not have to recognize the body/mind or remember its experience, know others, and interact in the world in the same way it has, etc, in order to experience thoughts, perceptions, and bodily sensations. What you saw declining is not the awareness being talked about here. At the same time, it must have been hard to see these changes to your loved one and your relationship. Warmest wishes.
