That is directly known through consciousness by consciousness. Our minds are private but consciousness is shared. Consciousness is not "beyond" the so-called mind. Consciousness precludes there being any such mind. And not even that because there is no so-called mind to preclude.
The 5 senses and the mind are not intended to completely understand existence. They are intended for the survival of the species. So, the dense objects the woman sees on opening her eyes, are intended to make her know how to relate to her surroundings, without injuring herself or the objects she sees.
Is the nature of awareness the one who chooses? The I that I am chooses what I will direct my awareness towards. Therefore choice is an essential characteristic of awarwness . Is this correct?
Anything that seems to appear (choice) is only a seeming which is described and conceptualised. It's impossible to know what anything truly is as appearance is a flickering light show which never resolves as any thing. Things would need to be stable and lasting to be able to define them as something.
