A little about myself:
My name's Jon Eleyet and I like making videos about guitars! Sometimes the videos are about a goofy guitar that I made out of Fruity Pebbles, other times it's a tutorial about guitar tone. In either case, my goal is to make your life better by giving you a laugh or unlocking a new skill.

Im in a similar boat as you Fret 2 Fret.... I get mine in 2 days!!! I’m pumped! I’ve watched all Jon’s vids and I feel like I will be flying though this bad boy once I get it cuz Jon’s such a GREAT teacher. I’ve been an acoustic player and worship leader for like 15 years with a whole lot of loop pedal usage for the long 2 hour sets I’ve done with the house of prayer (IHOP). I just bought a MIM strat, to begin to learn again, after I stepped down from my last WL gig. I got severely stagnated/complacent with all my chord playing/leading positions that I never really learned my way around the instrument like I wanted to when I started back in 7th grade. I’m super interested in how you’re liking the POD now that you’ve had it for a bit. Any standout features? Likes, dislikes?

I just got a hold of a used HD500x and still trying to figure it out. I used to own the line 6 x3 Live totally different lol. But I really appreciate your input helps a lot !! Right now having hard on making tones. I’ll probably watch this about a thousand times to get it lol
The swells tone with the increased overdrive sounds more like a lap steel on the higher notes. Definitely gonna try that now. Great playing brother

Have you messed with the mixer block?
I have found when using one amp, that by setting path A&B to center, it really opens up the sound.

Jon, great tutorial. Question. How are you running your guitar through the free download? Please step by step from input to output (plugins, cables, usb) .
Man you got the POD dialed. I just fried mine Sunday morning in my fumbling to get set up. A bit of a pricey mistake. Word of warning. Make sure you are super careful with your USB port. Mine was broken (the little black plastic piece inside the port) and I didn't realize it. I believe I was talking to someone while plugging it in and shorted the USB with power supply. Got a new/used one coming. No one could give me a rough estimate for repair cost other than a $100 minimum and that's without shipping. Fun stuff.

Great tone. I’m curious about something. You hovered over the pedal image on the edit screen and a picture of the pedal it’s modeled after popped up. How did you do that? I’ve never seen that on mine before.
Oh, my bad! The Line 6 software doesn't do that. I overlayed the pic after I recorded the video.
Jon thanks for making these videos. I’ve been trying to find a balanced sound between clean and a little crunch. I’m a praise team leader at my church and often play rhythm electric from my POD HD500x and American standard Tele. Any recommendations for a balanced amp on the device.
I'd go straight to either the 'BF Double NRM' or the 'Class A-30TB'. Those are models of the Fender Twin Reverb and the Vox AC30.

Hey man I’m having a crazy amount of trouble with my 500x. My computer isn’t seeing it while I have it plugged in via USB but I’m just trying too have it for the HD edit. Let me give you a run down if it’s not too much to ask.
So I have a iMac, USB too 500x Iv update the line6monkey but still says I have too update/install while iv done it 5 times already. I’ll plug it all up iv reset the 500x and done it again but still no progress. And it’s got me down idk what too do if I could get some sort of help. Im very grateful and thank you for reading/helping out!
How many different delays can you use simultaneously?
Can you edit on the fly? With pc during a gig?
have you ever had encountered problems connecting your pod to your computer like bsod?

Yup, you can totally do it with just the pedal!

Great videos, if only I had the luck ... my HD 500x doesn’t communicate with my Mac. I’ve tried every solution found online without luck. Even had one of my Macs crashing on the usb driver. Is this crappy software or just unlucky?
Could be either! Which Mac OS are you using. I don't think Mac OS Catalina is supported by Line 6 anymore😭
@@JonEleyetGuitar it is, still supported, but not clear what was the exact problem... What i do noticed, it just needs the general 'Line 6 audio-midi driver' it doesn't work with the specific dedicated one. And you have to authorize the mac os system to use it. So do not use the driver recommended by Line 6 as the one build specific for the pod HD 500X, just search for the general audio-midi driver that probably works for every line 6 pod.
Really like these videos! One question. I play at church as well, but I heard this board will cancel out the unique sound of the guitar, have u ran into this situation when using some effects? For instance, a les paul and tele will sound the same...
In my experience, I've felt that my guitar tone comes through pretty well on the 500x. I can even hear a big difference when I flip my pickup selector on my guitar.

It should be pretty close. The HD300 may not let you use as many effects at once though.
Is the POD 500x still worth it in 2019?
Frogsplash27 all about the Helix. But that’s pricy
It definitely holds up pretty well if you figure out what you're doing, but the PodGo is just slightly more expensive and is more similar to the Helix

Pedal board mode?
Yup! There's two modes on the 500x. Check out my video called, 'Pedalboard Mode vs Preset Mode' to learn how to access them.
@@JonEleyetGuitar in pedal board mode can I have different setlist that I can scroll through
@@damiancgarza Yup, you can still scroll through your saved presets in pedalboard mode. Essentially, each time you switch presets, it's like swapping out an entire pedalboard.
