055 - Resin Petri Attempt

  • This is my first attempt at doing the "Resin Petri Technique" using resin, alcohol inks, and white alcohol ink to create a look like strange growths in a petri dish. If you want to see how I did... take a look.
    Resin used: "Craft Smart" resin
    Transparent Alcohol Inks: Tim Holtz Ranger Adirondak in the colours Oregano, Meadow, Latte, Sunshine Yellow, Lemonade, and Slate
    White Alcohol Ink: Jaquard Pinata White

    Hello Kerr. I have only tried resin petri molds once so I'm not an expert. However, your molds came out quite nice. Perhaps you didn't let them cure long enough and that is why they were still pliable. as far as how the ink settled, that is usually what happens. one side always looks better than the other. You did a great job for your first attempt!

      Thank you! The resin was supposed to be cured in 24 hours, which is how long I left it. So it took longer to cure than usual. After 48 hours, it was definitely less bendy (except for the donut-ring which I broke).
