i'm still early into the video so not sure if you got your rendang in the end, but try searching up "rumah makan padang" on google maps or try asking the locals if they have "nasi padang" in the area you're in. rendang is the specialty of the padang area, hence the name. it's pretty common to come across one in jakarta and the surrounding area so you should find one pretty easily. enjoying the video so far dale. cheers
Kudos mate. Thanks for reviewing some Train in Indonesia. Kinda fancy for Luxury class. The restaurant attendant a little bit clumsy, maybe because English isn't his first languange but that's alright. Enjoy your trip 😊🎉
Historically speaking, Indonesia train system is one of the Dutch legacy during colonialism. The quotation of land from local residents are still kept in Dutch museum, railway tracks from Germany manufacturer, even many terminologies used in railway industry still heavily reflect the influence of the Dutch language (such as "spoor" --> "sepur")
Don't forget that now the Indonesian machinist was heavily trained by japanese train culture that's why it's so much better the system than it was back then. I really do love the changes on that!
Hey Dale! I've been a big fan of your travel vlogs, and I wanted to suggest an amazing destination for your next adventure: Malacca! This charming city in Malaysia has a rich history, incredible cultural diversity, and a unique blend of influences from various civilizations. The vibrant colors, captivating architecture, and friendly locals will make it a perfect addition to your travel series. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time capturing the essence of Malacca's heritage and sharing it with your viewers. Keep up the awesome work, and happy travels!

Ooh blimey, Dale, you make me miss Indonesia, mate!! I am from Jakarta but now studying in Manchester. Cheers for your videos, and I hope you enjoyed Indonesia! 😃😃
If you want to try rendang, I'd strongly suggest you try it at a famous rumah makan Padang called "Sederhana", they're available in many places throughout the country (cmiiw? well at least in most Java, I'd say it's pretty easy to find it). They got the best flavor of rendang, hands down. They also serve in bulk, but you can take just what you what to eat atm and they will give you the price accordingly. It's quite the experience, you can try it next time with your friends!!
You should try the rendang from the authentic Rumah Makan Padang - Padang restaurant, so it will taste the same like how they normally or 'traditionally' cook it in Padang, West Sumatera. Mind you, it will be very spicy. Some of my recommendation, RM Sederhana, RM Garuda, Bopet mini, Sari Ratu, Sari Bundo, or Lamun Ombak (you should try their rendang with nasi kapau)~
for me taking train on a trip is like walking through the 'backyard' of the cities you pass through. you will see unique views that may not be shown like when you take the highway.
Hello from West London England! 2.22M subscribers and I can see why. Started watching some of your videos again, especially some of the older ones of when you were in Lahore, Pakistan. You do justice to the cuisine of each land you visit and do more for world peace than world governments do I feel. Now you better come back home Dale cos you're making me major jealous seeing the world and eating all that delicious food - same save for us lol. j/k. Keep up the magnificent work Brave Heart! 😎👍

Entertainment, exploration, adventure, stories and what I love the most is your speaking style. So many sentences you speak that I can learn English very well from your videos such a vocab, pronounciation, of course sentences etc. Thank you Mr. Dale whising I can meet you sometime for take a photo together 😁🙌
Finally the Indonesia Series'is over,,, from the very village, traditional site to the modern society.. Dale which place is your favourite??
Btw great series and excited for the next one ❤
i'm still early into the video so not sure if you got your rendang in the end, but try searching up "rumah makan padang" on google maps or try asking the locals if they have "nasi padang" in the area you're in. rendang is the specialty of the padang area, hence the name. it's pretty common to come across one in jakarta and the surrounding area so you should find one pretty easily. enjoying the video so far dale. cheers
Good luck on the next adventure dale nice train trip in style 😎👍
That makes me wonder if the use of the word "spur" in the US for railroad track names comes from the Dutch language at all.
It's not 100% colonial legacy i think.. we have been upgraded almost everything except for the route.
"Spoor" ada hubungan gak sama jendral terakhir hindia belanda simon hendrik spoor?
Yang saya tahu jaringan kereta api yang identik dengan penjajahan belanda pernah di hancurkan seperti "trem".
8:38 "They take everything but the kitchen sink with them" 😂🤣

Too many beautifull place in Indonesia Dale
Love from Cikarang Bekasi 🥰🥰
I agree with you as an Indonesian about the live music. In my area there’s an outdoor cafe with live music that plays until midnight. It’s very annoying because I live near that cafe 😶
It's quite the experience, you can try it next time with your friends!!
im watch all ur video in Indonesia, Dale. thanks for visiting our country ❤
Food unites us, by showing us the warm hearted people of each land you visit you're breaking down barriers and making people realise the world is a small place. We're all the same. Now you better come back home Dale cos you're making me major jealous seeing the world and eating all that delicious food - same save for us lol. j/k.
Keep up the magnificent work Brave Heart! 😎👍
