- UA-cam!! In this episode of the Box Chevy Build I get started on building the amp rack for my sound system. I came up with a simple and clean design that allows all of my equipment to fit with room to spare. it's not 100% complete but on the next episode I'll get it done. I've already got everything that I need to finish it..

Word of advice drills some holes put your wires on the back side then connect them makes a cleaner install so they hide them when you bolt them down

Looking good and clean. 1 bit of advice dual amp inputs for your sub amps. Yes it will take more wire but it will feed the beast faster and more efficiently. I basically use dual inputs on all my amps and they never even get warm really. And get lithium battery bro. Trust you’ll appreciate and love the as soon as you put them in and see how your system react to em! Bass on

Looks good, it would be great had you taken time to actually paint the amp rack rather than spray painting it. Black zip ties would make it stand out. These are simply suggestions on your next build. I agree with one comment stating hide the wires. That sound is going to be LOUD!!!!

You should have mounted them closer to the front of the trunk for easier access if you need to get to em and tucked the wires underneath the wood. Good shit though

Salute the grind in work put in 🤙💯,Nate what gone do to keep them amps cool?, You got that amp rack build you can put some fan behind it cut a section out where you got the amps lock down where it can't be seen,it's a few ways you can set up the fans on how they come on put a temperature gauge where get to certain point in it kick on just like radiator on set the fan to the amp remote wire when the amp come on the fan come on and make sure the ground wire set the amp just a ideal if you don't already know that..

Loving the build, this amp rack came out clean. I’m not sure if you know this, but the wire ferrules have their own special pliers where you can crimp them to the wires so they don’t fly off, but you did it just fine with the heat shrink to keep them from slipping off
Dont use that tool for these round holes. It will create more issue in the long run
I jus sub..i jus had my system put in too.2 skar vxf 15s taramps smart 5k bass .the box 6.5 cubes tuned to around 31hz all ds18 pro mids and highs ×2 and 2 super tweeters..she slap for sure and kill the lows whole car be shaking..Keep bassin..

Yoooo, it would look so much cleaner if u hide the wires. Drill holes in the wood and run the power wires down underneath the amp rack. U could even use grommets for looks!! Just a suggestion.
Nah that’s to much work i’m going for a simple clean setup. once the subs go in this amp rack won’t be seen!
plus the amp rack will be resting on the wires and would create problems for mounting it in the car! people usually hide the wires under platform amp racks mine it not a platform setup
@SouthSideNate bro that I'd a lot of work and if there is a wiring issue you would have to remove the entire rack to find it.
I think it looks better with the wires showing, as long as they are neat. If you watch 5 Star Car stereo, its all accessible from the component board/panel.
The way I did mine is I used cut off pcs from making the amp rack and just glued little squares of 3/4" mdf under the amp rack and it created enough space so the wires wouldn't be smashed under the rack and then the only part of the wires you seen was the few CLEAN inches of where the wires come through the rack and go into the amps. So I still had to zip tie like you did but ya didn't see all those wires. I used zero g. Wires too. So put little spacers of 3/4" wood on the underside to make space for the wires. You would like the looks even more 100% I know don't nobody wanna redo it but you would be happier with results.

Good clean build bro. I can appreciate you trying to do it right. That being said I believe the ferrules need to be crimped onto the wire prior to being screwed down into the amp. Keep the vids coming, I just recently subscribed
Never want to do that. You want to use the set screw to crimp it. That way the ferrule conforms to the hole and crimps the wire at the same time

Hey I don't know if somebody commented already but u shouldn't run a single 0gauge then split it into so many runs out so u can run 0 to 0 or 0 to 4 or even 2 4s but 0 to 2 0s and 2. 4s is asking for trouble you should run three runs of 0 to that distro book trust me I'm running 16 k on 5 runs

You actually suppose to and should crimp your ferrules/wire before installing them.
I do my research on everything i do and the technique i used is perfectly fine. why buy another tool when the screw on the amp will work just fine.

Why not? It’s wood bro and it got the job done just fine! for something that’ll be in the trunk with amps screwed to it and will never be seen other then in videos like this just to show the setup.
