ROBERT Nesta Marley King of reggae music is passed off of what they are doing with his name he was very clear what he stand for if he was alive this could not happen I would not pay to see that movie fattening Babylon pockets

His family seems to think differently, and they’re closer to him than I am, so I’d go with their opinion on their father, over my own assumptions:

Hope, I am not sure what you are talking about "doing with his name" The movie is VERY good. It tries to portray his message and stay away from anything that would distract from that. The only dominant woman in the movie was his wife Siata Rita. Which is GREAT. It opened my eyes to the role she played, and how much he leaned on her and welcomed her input. There is one scene in the movie when he is seen in a public gathering with a group of model with sashes and another where you see a girl standing on a London street, which you can assume is a nod to Cindy and Lucy (Julian's mother). However, there is NO nowhere in the movie where that relationship is played out. Which is great. There is no inclusion of Tosh and Bunny other than when the group then called the Wailing Wailers tried to get a recording deal. As I said the movie was VERY good in what it tried to do. The culmination of the movie is the One Love Peace Concert. With that, I would like them to have replayed that moment when he united the 2 political leaders. I would also have liked them to show scenes of how his death impacted people, and scenes of his funeral, I would have liked them to have shown how they got to play at Zim Independence. However, as-is, it is very good. Go and watch the movie. The message will reach even further through the movie. Where I went to watch it, the theaters were FULL of mainly WHITE people MANY OF THEM YOUNG PEOPLE. Kids, teens, and under. Open your mind, You don't change water to wine by adding more water, you have to add other ingredients. You can't change the so-called "Babylon" by shouting from outside the walls. You have to get involved. The music in the movie WILL CHANGE LIVES AND PERSPECTIVES. BOB LIVES ON.
And BTW as I said, mainly whites were in the theater last night. 7 theaters and all of them were full of MAINLY WHITES. They get the message while we black people run away from it. "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, NONE BUT OURSELVES CAN FREE OUR MINDS"
      One Love

Bob's son, Ziggy, his widow Rita and some of his closest friends and business associates were consultants in making this movie. Yet, you WITH ZERO TIES to Robert Nesta Marley are spewing garbage 🤮 🗑️ out your mind via the Internet. Goh siddung sum weh and shut it up. You're miserable 😖❗

@@TheMegabushFamily. It was great. On the 18th (Independence day) entry was reserved for dignitaries from around the world. Could not get in but then we lived next to the stadium where the celebrations were taking. Thus could hear all the noise from the excitement and once Bob got on stage there was pandemonium from people forcing their way in. Teargas was fired. The following day around midday we learnt that Bob would be holding a free show. And obviously we went there. Great atmosphere.

This is so interesting, Deb... The YT feed that I got just now to watch this post-- right on the point (at 9:28) that you ended your One Love skit came the rattle of the Carlton Barrett snare drum, the kick for BM&W's One Love. It was the perfectly timed start of a Sandals Resort advert! Coincidence? Nah. Even though I didn't get it to repeat I do believe it was AI at play. Cool, still.

We love the support from both ends of the spectrum, but it was a story of his 36 years, it was just 2 years of his life and we demand more than a bio-pic of him. I hope someone and a clever team will produce the real thing to get the world glued to it by using Jamaican character and pull it off as good or better than "Harder They Come" starring Jimmy Cliff another Reggae legend from Jah-mek-yah!

Disclaimer: From youth I never got into movies (and Deb, that's despite working at JBC-Tv for 5½ years after H.S.!) so I don't try to rate or critique them.
I too caught the premiere on Wednesday past, and I felt pretty much the same as most your Zim respondents here, i.e., it was too short and really only covered a couple years* of his life, with mere snippets and mentions to other parts. I didn't have any issues with the lead actor, but now one of your respondents pointed out the lack of "flashing de locks", and I agree; true, true! I have remarked on one message board that I believe the producers may be setting themselves up for a part 2. So we'll see.
*The few years covered look to be like 1976 to some of 1978, and the focus seems to be his stay in England, and promotion (anew) of the Exodus album.

Y’all honest reviews never been better, y’all absolutely correct, they should’ve used mostly Jamaicans to act this movie because there are talented Jamaican actors and actresses, but as you know Paramount is responsible in making this film. There are plenty Jamaicans who they could’ve used to portrayed Bob Marley. A lot of us is disappointed because there are plenty of his life story we didn’t see, although we already know about it, but they should’ve make it more interesting by putting his other children and baby mammas in it also when he traveled to Africa and other parts of the world.

He charged the Zimbabweans on during the liberation struggle and who would forget that line in his song "Zimbabwe?" "Africans are liberating, Zimbabwe!"
