    Wow. I am a NZ'er but have never been to that part of my country. It really is stunning and it is great to see it through the eyes of you guys.

    What an amazing video. You both must have worked so hard to put that together and I like the snippets here and there. You really kno whow to sail that boat in those waters. We have moved to the Westland and we are by the sea. W love the wildness of it and especially the rain. Its like no other place in the world. The sand flies arnt so bad in winter time:) We would love to sail around Fiordlands. Magnificent:) Do you take cruises?

    Very cool. I spent a year in NZ on a holiday working visa and loved my time there. I did not get out on the water aside from the ferry to the south island (in a severe gale!) and the foot passenger ferry to Stewart Island (also in a gale!), but hope to sail there some day. Something interesting; the NZ marine charts you show at the start appear identical to the format of Canadian charts! They look so familiar. Cheers from BC, Canada.

      Enjoy the rest of the videos. It’s a spectacular part of the world and I hope you too get the opportunity to sail here one day. We have plans to visit your backyard and sail around BC one of these days and get to explore another spectacular region!

      I’m putting some videos out now about the boat and the upgrades we have made to her. If you want a bit of the story behind the trip around the South Island then you are welcome to check out our travel blog the link of which is:

    Many thanks for the superb scenic footage ... just fantastic! Can you recommend a good info source for Fiordland?

      Have a look at the “Tenaya” website, they have a very useful document on cruising around NZ with plenty of good info on Fiordland. If you would like to have a chat about tips and tricks for Fiordland and Stewart Island then let us know.

    We were at anchorage cove in George Sound as well! And ALSO had the same massive swarm of sandflies as I can see on your camera. Annoying! The only downside to this incredible location

    Around 14,oo it would be very rare to get heavy rain down there, wouldn't it???

    • @jrtxk
      @jrtxk  2 роки тому +2

      Only about 7m of rain per year.

      Fiordland is one of the rainiest places in the world.
