As an environmental writer, I predicted that our goal of reducing CO2 by 2030 was impossible. The IPCC updated their goal and moved the date up to the year 2050. Offshore wind can not save our planet. There is no way it can and it does damage to our oceans, to our environment and on-shore wind far surpasses it in efficiency and power. If we were to compel all structures that are capable of supporting solar panels, we could do a lot of good. But you must consider that to truly make a difference then our real issue is GDP. Unless we can eliminate Gross Domestic Product growth, then our industrial world will continue to emit CO2 and recent discoveries of fossil fuels have accelerated our use, and we are in deep trouble. A recent investigation of electric cars, for example revealed how little we have accomplished. By 2050 we will have reached a much larger population and much more severe impacts from an unstoppable increase of CO2.
love your videos. You are a very gentle woman and it’s nice to see and watch without swearing or crazy behavior. Safe travels and I can’t wait till the next video.
Just watching your sailing to NZ video.. I'm very impressed..I would so much love to be sailing like you..I've owned a few sail boats and been many places (not in sailboats) stay safe.. I'm going to enjoy watching your sailing.. Merv
Hi Jacqueline! It is so great to see you sailing and hearing how it went. I love seeing how neat and tidy your boat is down below. You make it all seem so easy!! I love how happy and optimistic you are! We will be sailing from Tongatapu in the next fair weather window so will follow you down to NZ. We plan to stop in Minerva Reef on our way down. Hope to see you in NZ. 🙂
Hello Jacqueline, I did comment on your part one video, Part 2 well here I'm in my ex single handed round the world late 80's sailboat, Its Friday evening I'm moored in a lovely protected bay from the strong southerly winds, and rain. by relaxing enjoying your delightful adventure unfold. Wishing you Happy Navigation experiences. SV Skoiern IV,
@@sailingloveworkx same here thanks for your nice reply , where are you now? Will you be heading to Australia? If so l will say hi by inviting you to lunch? Keep safe !
Bedankt voor de mooie video. Het is mooi om te zien hoe je gegroeid bent. Ik meen mij te herinneren dat je, in gelijkaardige omstandigheden in het begin, jezelf afvroeg waarom je met een boot vertrokken was.
I subscribed! Love your video. No loud music, just wind, waves and sounds of the boat sliding through the water. Perfect. I'm currently outfitting my Bristol 35 to start the journey. Can't wait. Need a partner like you to enjoy the journey together. Someone happy like you. Now I will go watch part 1. Be safe and enjoy.
You're so funny with your "woo hoo". It's a real pleasure to follow you in your trip. You bring something of different ! I love it ! Have a good day with the Kiwis !
Wonderful playful spirit , I smiled from ear to ear when you get excited with the bigger waves . Reminds me of myself surfing the waves in a smaller boat everyone else gets scared and I get excited 😂. I suppose it's like fishing I say one more cast atleast 50 times
I don’t/can’t sail but I’m fascinated with it. You’re the only person I’d go out to sea with, you instill some confidence in me. I enjoy your vid, thank you.
I was very entertained by your 2 sailing videos from Tonga to New Zealand. I always watch these videos because my dream is to travel on my sailboat from Santiago de Chile to New Zealand, the country where my children have lived for 23 years. It would be a dream to get to NZ by boat. Thanks a lot
You are not alone with the Sailor's Disease. I also have it, especially when there are big waves, I just love love the bow going down fast and coming up slowly with lots of spray. My Mom did not like me being on the bow when this was going on. Yes I was attached and very secure. I miss that so much. So I am enjoying watching your boat going into the waves. Happy Sailing ⛵
Thanks for your lovely response. When I was young I took my mam out for a sail in my little dinghy. She then got all the spray and never sailed with me again.
Imagine you will head down to Whangarei another great habour putting you right in the city and close to the supermarket, cafe's , ball clock , glassblowing works and the crazy Hundertwasser building dead center down town , Lots of blue-water boats and community there in the marina and great place to do repairs and resupply , give us a shout if you hit Auckland , I am happy to drive you around the city to see a few of the sights as Auckland is the city of sails as they say and we kiwis love to show the country off to visitors, Enjoy some solid safe anchoring sleep in's as well as that was a long crossing Cheers and 73's Kris - ZL1KJT . PS Don't forget to stop off at Teri Teri Island nrth of Auckland to visit the open bird sanctuary, stay the night if the Tiri channel is behaving as the bird song is amazing in the morning with the Bell Birds, etc going crazy. Watch the Teri Channel though as it can really kick up but this weekend looks to be good weather after Fridays front passes over.
