Longtime viewer, first time commentator here. Bear with me, because this may be a little long-winded, but I have lots to praise you all for. I discovered you guys at a Full Draw Film Tour about a half-dozen years ago, and bought a couple DVD's, including your feature length Uncommon Ground. Since then, I've watched as much of your old content as I can find, as well as keeping current on the new. Through it all, I've found some incredibly good and positive recurring themes and/or attitudes and approaches that seem to pervade what you present to the public, and I want you to know I am proud of all of you guys for being who and what you are for the hunting community in general. First is the fact that you always present yourselves as men of integrity and character, never cutting the legal or moral corners, and that from the beginning, God and your faithful relationship with Him has been front and center, and a corner-post in your activities and what you bring to the public eye. I hope you continue to make that a priority. Second is the fact that you guys have made a priority of showing your viewers that hunting is just as much about the camaraderie, friendship and brotherhood gained, grown, shared and memorialized in the hunting woods as it is about the kill. And you’ve shown us that this brotherhood is not just with people you share camp with, but even with total strangers you meet in the woods (for example, the guys who lent you their side by side in Colorado a few years back), and even with the Doug Fluties. I greatly appreciate the fact that in every interaction with people you meet in the woods, you make sure to show them and the rest of us viewing from home that you are happy to find them out there doing it, pursuing the joy and bounty that comes through the hunt. Also, I also really enjoyed how you guys went from a core group of guys who are all still very close to a group of guys who invite family, friends, associates and peers to join your hunting trips. It was awesome to see the collaborations between you and the guys from Hush, Elk101, Pure Elevation, The Hunting Public and the rest, as well as with guys from your merch/equipment partnerships and even more special to see you bring your fathers, brothers, sons and friends along, or go with them. It speaks volumes about your willingness to share the goodness and joy by going and joining in on other people’s hunts when none of you even have a tag - just to try to help them find success. Doing it this way shows that its more beneficial and rewarding for everyone involved to bring others along and help them experience the adventure of the hunt and reach success than it is to selfishly keep them out of your favorite hunting spots. And the episode/video where Wyatt and his buddies went and successfully filmed their hunt where Wyatt got his first archery elk is a heart-touching testament to the care and knowledge that you have been passing on to those who follow in your footsteps. Third is the fact that you guys also make a priority of showing respect to the animals you shoot, first by trying to select the best shot opportunities, second by being diligent trackers and blood-trailers, and third by doing everything you can to properly care for the meat in the field and get it quickly and safely into the freezer, where it won’t be wasted. Too often, I see hunters failing to make any efforts at taking the most ethical shots possible, failing to follow up on their shots well enough or at all, and doing a poor job of caring for the meat once the animal is down, and that bugs me because of the image in the eye of the non-hunting public that it puts on those of us who try to do it right. So I am very grateful to find that you guys do such a good job of showing respect to the animals you hunt. Fourth is the fact that you guys are so willing to show the public not only what you do, but also how you do what you do. I think too many other hunting content creators focus too much on the results of their efforts, and just share a few minutes of hunting leading up to the kill and then the hero shots with the trophy. In contrast, you guys have shared videographic evidence of how difficult and sometimes discouraging it can be to try and try without success (you’ve even capitalized on the phenomenon with the Cat Road Shuffle trademark) and have shared the emotional struggles that come with sometimes less-than-stellar execution on hunts, and demonstrated that the hard work and the failures are what makes success all the sweeter. Also in this vein, you guys have shared the excitement and anticipation that makes mere interaction with or observation of big game in the woods a success in and of itself, like when you get into a rut fest and look at each other wide-eyed and smiling in amazement and appreciation, and then share your commentary on it back at camp that night and express just how much fun you had being there to witness it. Fifth is the fact that you guys are willing to share some of the hunting know-how (from scouting and map-reading to calling and setups, reading sign and behavior to picking your moment and shot-placement, and breaking down carcasses to gear selection and packing) that helps you find success in the hunt and in turning that wild animal into a freezer full of good meat. It is refreshing and awesome to find a group of content creators that tries to help the rest of the hunting community be more successful and better at each of the facets of this activity we all love. Sixth is the fact that you guys at BRO are so willing to give back to your viewing community. Some examples would be the times you give away gear - not just to randomly selected commentators, but also to people you meet in the woods - and hunts, like your annual bear hunt, and when you ask your viewers to donate to help someone who is experiencing tragedy in their lives (like when you set up a donation system to help some folks who had recently lost their home to a fire, I think it was), and then donate yourselves as well. Seventh is the way you’re putting your content out there, with a sort of timeline for us viewers to relate it to. Presented in the chronological succession of how it happened for you, it gives us viewers a sort of context to view it in, almost like a story to follow, and helps your videos to be something more than just a random segment of film from an unknown and random place and time. I find it satisfying to view each segment of your story, rather than not having any concept of the when or where. I think I can speak for most of us when I say I also really appreciate how many of the new faces we see become long-standing members of the recurring cast of characters in your content, and we get to see how many of them become friends for life. It gives life to the concept of brotherhood found in the woods, and even we viewers can begin to feel some level of kinship with not just the original core group, but also with some of the new members of the brotherhood. Overall, because of these things, I can say with confidence that BRO is probably the most complete, satisfying and uplifting hunting channel out there. I am proud of you, and grateful for and to you all. Keep up the good work, and God bless!
You guys have one of the few channels where you tone down your bugling. Most of the other channels don't and I'm rushing to turn down the volume 😂 Thanks for the content and all you guys do!
Jeff seems like a really easy going guy. I love hunting with guys like him. It's interesting to me. I may be totally off but it seems like he realizes you young guys are experts at what you do and he is looking to you for advice. On the other hand Trent and the young guys respect Jeff and don't want to tread on his ego, from what I see Jeff is comfortable with his ego and you guys are great friends to show up and share in an experience he will never forget. This is why your hunting videos keep me coming back for more.
Great content as always. In our house Monday nights are set aside for BRO, football comes second only if there’s time after BRO. I grew up in EO. Recognize my old elk hunting grounds ( before the days of spike only). Shout out to my friend Josh Lewis, He is a massive fan of BRO, he was so inspired by you guys he bought the material and sewed his own trucking pole tent so he could do pack in hunts. He killed his 3rd Bull this year and is an inspiration to an old guy like me. Russ Thomas
So fun to watch! My son and I watch every Monday and play cards! It’s a tradition! Hope to make it to a show; my son would love to meet you guys! And yes…your wife was tracking you…that’s what we do! 😂
I want to thank you and the crew for the amazing videos. As a truck driver, I also want to thank your families, back home giving so much so we have such amazing videos.
I just wanna say, you guys are truly inspiring. I've watched you guys for the last 3 years with my dad and You've been my inspiration for picking up a bow I'm now shooting a recurve it's my new passion.
Great video guys it's always so rewarding to go out an just help. I truly enjoy every video I've been following you guys for years and always look forward to the next video. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas 🎄
Would die and say it was a good life if you guys do a LOF movie! I'm in the Salt Lake City area. So when will you guys share the details forthat show? Can't wait!
Still loving the new format! Your build up for the Portland Sportsman show makes me think about making the drive down south for it. If you have a film to watch then I know it'd be worth the drive. I'll drag my buddy Jerimiah Long and his wife Brittany down to. They are also fans of the Land of the Free. Looking forward to the next episode and wish all of the BRO crew a happy holiday season.
One of the things I like about the land of the free is that you might be friends and family but I say framily is a better word, you guys are a great band of brothers, love the videos Man
Was able to get into the elk woods for the first time last year . Wasn’t successful but ready to go back again. Love your content it gets better and better. Always tune in Monday evenings .
What a fun group to hunt with! I miss having a bigger group at elk camp and in the woods. These days it's just my husband, Jeremy, and I. But we still have a good time 😃 I'm loving the new format! It gives me something to look forward to and makes my Mondays not feel like Mondays. Everyone knows not to bug mom when I'm watching Born and Raised! Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas!!!
28:19 - The Bull pegs whoever was talking, hones in on it, then splits after a bit more talking. When a Bull is that close, you have to assume they can hear everything and best not to say anything, giving the best possible chance to get a shot. Nice Bull tho.
Guys, I would love to see you take some ladies hunting, maybe a giveaway Deer hunt or Elk hunt, but just for ladies. They are the future of hunting... God bless you all.
