A 62 yr old male health professional myself , underwent surgery for colon cancer 4 yrs ago. Low colon (sigmoid) and was aware this could result n ED on neurological grounds. Unfortunately it did - medication helped but not much. After 4-6 weeks of doing the simple exercises 5 min twice daily things are much improved.Medication still required but in much lower dose and less frequently. Many thanks.I will be recommending your video to my patients

@@orangefield2308 it really just means not slumping forwards when you do your exercises sitting or standing. When you sit away from the back of a chair, lengthen your spine and lift through the crown of your head. Your chest (sternum) just raises slightly. You will notice that your lower back has a slight inwards curve. It's rounded slumped forward back position that's the problem because this decreases the ability of the pelvic floor muscles to contract. All the best!

The 1-2-3 does well. Some presentations you present "Shorten the..." as the first step. In other presentations you present "stopping the flow of urine" as #1. It really doesn't matter except I would like to get the right label on 1 & 2. I always go through 1 & 2 quickly on my way to #3. You do a great job in your faithful presentations. I tried Michelle's kegels to strengthen pelvic flor. It was highly effective. I stopped taking tapentadol (a powerful opioid or morfinoid) in one day. Now I use kegels for ED.
I would suggest this ED treatment plan greatly to anyone who really wants to brighten their marriage up. This medication has brought us to a level of a very satisfying relationship. (I'm a 69-year-old male and a big proponent of what you're teaching.) Though my teacher very knowledgeable regarding physiology and anatomy, kegels for amelioration of erectile dysfunction was new information to her (which she was delighted to hear and is now researching). Only one suggestion. Please rewrite this sentence. I'm not sure what you're trying to say: "Start with the number of exercises you can do up to 10 secs e.g. if you can do 2 kegels for 3 secs. repeat up to 8 times in a row"
I work out in the mornings Monday - Friday and rest on weekends. Can I add this to my workout regiment? If so, should I do it before a workout as maybe a warmup routine or after a workout as a winding down routine?
As an experienced lifter with an overly tight pelvic I can say: you should always do it after your workout, since you tense up your pelvic floor during excercise. Then when you're done, you should really focus on deep breathing and relaxing the pelvic. My pelvic tension is 7 times higher than average, and it brings a lot of problems..
Great idea to include it in your routine John, this really should be done much more often - it can be readily included during rests between sets of your other exercises, especially resting during seated exercises eg lat pull down

@BreakingBoxes 1. start with small breaths and contract gently - the ability to breathe comes with time, strengthening and practice. The shortening and tightening actions can feel very similar - these are general cues to help identify the muscles 2. slow thrusts during intimacy. I understand your concerns and it would be a good idea to see your doctor to assess your condition to see what may be the cause of this problem for you. Kegels are a good place to start but see your doctor too, wishing you all the best 🙏

I'm 32 and have been slowly having worse erections for the past five years, right now it's even difficult to get rigid for masturbation. I've even started weight training for the past two years and eating healthier overall. Never smoked and haven't had alcohol for two years. I just don't know what to do at this point, but I'll try this routine and see if it helps.

Funny how all my years of weight training never prepared me for the soreness caused by adding gymnastics and calisthenics into my workouts. Now I've found out that all those exercises haven't done anything for my pelvic muscles. I guess the only activity that might affect the pelvic muscles would be sprinting. Otherwise, I've got to start adding Kegel exercises into my routine. Did you know that if you contract those pelvic muscles too forcefully that they can cramp just like any other muscle? Painful. So, start easy and work your way up in intensity.
I’m a little confused, so I should do 3 sets of 10 second strong holds, in three different positions? So is this totaling 9 sets in the morning and 9 sets at night?
@al haymon • recent research suggests that men will make good gains doing 6X10 long holds and 6X10 short 1 second holds throughout the day. The best position for strengthening is upright standing. I will detail this is an upcoming video.
@@michellephysiowhat about the 45 to 60 seconds then? And in your other video you mention the 10 seconds hold as endurance now you considered it as the strengthening whereas the 45 to 60 sec are endurance. And in this video you didn't mention the 1 sec hold

Dude just keep practicing. First 2 weeks is for practicing the technics and getting the know how. Don’t give up bro this takes time. You should be doing these 2 times a day for 5 days a week.

Nice & thoroughly explained each and every point. You are awesome Doc. Just one concern, regarding relaxing the pelvic muscles and giving it time to heal so that it is not counterintuitive. How much time or days should I give for the muscles to relax and rest before I can start doing kegels again. Is it a few hours or days?
Finn if you can manage this without fatigue - I suspect a break between exercises may allow you to contract stronger however if this is the way for you to complete your exercises then do it!

Introduce semen retention for at least 21days, no sex no porn and keep exercise going on if it persists you will need more days to heal like 40days

Funny how all my years of weight training never prepared me for the soreness caused by adding gymnastics and calisthenics into my workouts. Now I've found out that all those exercises haven't done anything for my pelvic muscles. I guess the only activity that might affect the pelvic muscles would be sprinting. Otherwise, I've got to start adding Kegel exercises into my routine. Did you know that if you contract those pelvic muscles too forcefully that they can cramp just like any other muscle? Painful. So, start easy and work your way up in intensity.

I’m a little confused, so I should do 3 sets of 10 second strong holds, in three different positions? So is this totaling 9 sets in the morning and 9 sets at night?
@al haymon • recent research suggests that men will make good gains doing 6X10 long holds and 6X10 short 1 second holds throughout the day. The best position for strengthening is upright standing. I will detail this is an upcoming video.
@@michellephysiowhat about the 45 to 60 seconds then? And in your other video you mention the 10 seconds hold as endurance now you considered it as the strengthening whereas the 45 to 60 sec are endurance. And in this video you didn't mention the 1 sec hold

Nice & thoroughly explained each and every point. You are awesome Doc. Just one concern, regarding relaxing the pelvic muscles and giving it time to heal so that it is not counterintuitive. How much time or days should I give for the muscles to relax and rest before I can start doing kegels again. Is it a few hours or days?

I fail to understand what the difference is between "shorten penis" and "simulate the stop or slow flow of urine".
It's easy to understand it bro ! As you shorten it, you fell kinda the penis move inwards, which certainly prevents you from peeing away.

Finn if you can manage this without fatigue - I suspect a break between exercises may allow you to contract stronger however if this is the way for you to complete your exercises then do it!
