@@Outback-Truckers I did consider being a trucker when I was very young as Big Truck = Cool in my brain at the time. If I ever were to become a trucker I would want to be home on the weekends. Unfortunately that's very hard to come by for most trucking jobs. Mad respect for all truckers though.

6000 km in 5 days??? Interesting, how can you do 1200 km in one day in Australian road conditions? I understand that they don't have limiters like in Europe, where the maximum speed is 90 km/h, but still, 1200 seems enormous to me considering the condition of the roads in Australia
1:48 ticker says 3000k there. You're right though, 1200 km a day with a train that long would be a rough one. Probably doable but at what expense, you'd have some hot axles, that's for sure. God Bless
Trucks in Australia ARE limited to 100kmh. Very strictly. In the western states there's no log book so you can drive 16 or 18 hours a day if you want and do 1200km in a day. In the eastern states you're limited to 14 hours per 24 hours and 1000km is usually all that's possible. But as the above guys said, it's 5 days each way, which is 3000km.

I understand, unfortunately I refer a lot to the European system, where you are only allowed to drive 9 hours a day, a maximum of 10 hours only twice a week, it is a more complicated system, with 54 hours of driving during a week and 90 hours during two linked weeks... finally! it's a real math the whole program in Europe, not to mention the program with two drivers per truck.... It's not the driving time that's stressful in Europe, but the areas where, due to traffic congestion, you barely manage to cover a maximum of 50 km in an hour, or when you have to take a break and can't find a place to stop. When I see the system in Australia, I always say that you are lords with your system... and it amuses me when I see that it reminds me of the congestion in your cities, and I see 100 to 200 cars on a stretch of boulevard!
No, it's an ex RTA truck. Which is Road Trains Australia. Which was bought by Hampton Heavy Haulage in Perth. If you're talking about the C500 with the green stripes. The white C500 could have been anything.

Im sure one day I going to watch an episode where Steve runs out of fuel, blows 12 tyres. Walks 500 km with the wheels on his back. Walks back with new tyres and 50 jerry cans of diesel. Then is mobile in 3 hours from heading to town. Please dont get me wrong. I know it can be tough out there. But a little maintanance on a truck helps. And those steep hills 2 prime movers on one set of trailers would do it in comfort. Conecting all 3 achieves nothing, other than help rear teuck last 25 metres. My father drove for 11 years and he had problems but not every trip. Everything that went on and off the truck was his two hands. This was 1959 to 1969. His arms would put todays body builders to shame. 15 to 20 hours a day Monday to Saturday and 6 hours on Sunday. Up to 150 milk cans 50 kg. 8 cubic yards of gravel on and off with a shovel. 12 ton of fire wood by hand, on a 7 ton truck.
