To not go into too much detail, Kong is like a teenager in this film for his kind. Here, he's 98' or 30 metres tall, but not even half the size of a fully matured Kong species. In the 2005 film you saw, it's essentially a remake of the very first King Kong movie made in 1933. Standing 25' or 7.62 metres tall and resembles more to that of an African silverback.
@@kmc19xx59 Kong is fully grown by the time he fought Godzilla hes on par in size with him at 335 feet tall, Kong is an adult now. Kong now lives in hallow earth and might even GET BIGGER due to the radiation. The next movie with them comes out in 2024.
If you’re curious the creatures have names being: Kong, skir Buffalo, Mother long legs, Skull Crawlers, Leaf Wings, spore mantis,Giant Mire Squid and the Iwi civilization and there are other creatures that didn’t appear but in the comic and other media being: spirit tiger, psycho Vulture, Siren Jaw, Death Jackels, giant ants, vine vipers, and vine stranglers.
The guy who saw Kong fight the Squid did the motion capture for Kong himself. This movie was amazing when I first saw it and still is. I thought they were gonna make Brie Larson another damsel in distress but she, and many other characters, turned out to be very useful and interesting. These movies are great, Godzilla King of the Monsters is next.
I love this film a lot more than I was expecting to! Like some other people have pointed out, this isn't connected to the 2005 King Kong; this is part of the Monsterverse that includes this, 2014's Godzilla, Godzilla: King of Monsters, Godzilla vs Kong remake and the current Monarch series on Apple TV+. One thing that hasn't been pointed out is the cinematography; a lot of the shots are gorgeous and, because this is set just after the Vietnam war, a lot of the shots are inspired by the film 'Apocalypse Now'. The posters were amazing for this film, because of the inspiration it took from that film. Edit: Fun Fact: The Skull Crawlers design was inspired by the Pokemon Cubone :)
_Kong: Skull Island_ is part of the Monarch/Monsterverse franchise, and _its_ Kong is related to the Toho Pictures' '60s Kongs of _King Kong vs Godzilla_ and _King Kong Escapes,_ who were "kaiju" sized (and even then his size varied to suit the situation). The Kongs of 1976, the 1986 sequel _King Kong Lives,_ and 2005 are all inspired by the 1933 original, and keep down to a more human-relatable scale. (There's also two versions of _Mighty Joe Young,_ each with their charms, about an _actual_ gorilla who is just very, very large, but not of such size as to be considered a different species.)
The animated show that takes place in the timeline is actually pretty good. I definitely would recommend it, however it’s not exactly essential to the story and you would be able to understand what happens without it. But I’d still say it’s really good in terms of a show.
To clear things up, king kong 2005 was its own thing. It was a faithful remake if the 1933 king kong. Kong skull island is part if the monsterverse, a cinematic universe where he coexist with godzilla. This movie reimagined kong's story to fit alongside godzilla. The story takes place in the 70s. I like the one with jack black cause the story and the more details of the island this one was more of a place holder for the monster universe and a reason to make king kong way way bigger then his average is to compare against godzilla but then again no one cared about height size back then it was just for fun to film and cool
Yeah, it's understandable the hate that Packard has for Kong, but dude, you were the one that went there and started bombing the place, Kong had no interest at all in leaving the island, and if it weren't for Ghidorah's awakening and subsequent chaos, he wouldn't leave it ever.
I like this guy because he's not like other reaction channels I've watched. He actually pays attention to what he's watching. Other people I've seen will miss the most obvious stuff that isn't even meant to be hidden in the slightest.

23:36 you can see the hand is too long for kongs. That was there to foreshadow the new alpha that has already traveled to skull island from hollow earth in GVK. Never realized it? Well that why they put it there, for story. Cool right? Yeah that’s how I thought, the new “scar king” guy has been everywhere. And if you’ve already watched GVK you would know that they said there’s a hollow earth portal to skull island. Scar king was looking for Kong but he had never found him. If you have seen the GXK: the new empire, you know that scar king likes his red prints as a sign for (I own this or I’ve been here). I just think it’s cool how they foreshadow a movie they haven’t even started working on. Fits in perfectly.
Actually I love this movie, I think Kong is really angry in here since they destroy or bomb his home, his like just protecting his environment the. fight scene is so amazing the CGI of the other creature sooo cool tho. Samuel here is kinda the villain since he also mad at Kong because his team had killed but we can't deny that he love his team that why he really want to kill kong
24:12 The Cold War was a war between Russia (Soviet Union) and Alaska, (partially the rest of the U.S), they're both cold compared to other places hence the 'Cold' in Cold War
The other king kong film is unrelated. New series. And I love this movie but they seriously did Cole wrong 😂 he was a chill guy and they gave him possibly the worst death in recent movie history.
The way he got scared is hilarious.

54:20 it sure is!
welcome to the monsterverse
hopefully you continue on to godzilla
The 2005 king Kong movie is its own separate movie, this kong movie is part of the godzilla universe
that comment about abe lincoln and ww2 was crazy
The order is kong skull island, godzilla 2014 ,godzilla king of the monster, kong vs godzilla
I'm surprised three actress from the MCU were in this movie.
(At 19:30) it's more like he's "mourning" his losses
Damn, now I wish Kong did the peace sign before walking off
When Loki and Captain Marvel acting together so awesome
And Nick Fury and Casey from the TVA! Marvel is everywhere!
Don am uh just say ur reactions are priceless 🤣🤣
the order that you're watching this series is the way I wish they had released them, starting with Kong with the Godzilla roar at the very end!
