You, sir, are utterly endearing - love your videos so much! From your music background, appreciation of theater, your soft spoken yet enthusiastic nature, your wisdom and maturity and healthy AF attitude toward relationships and dementia, your affinity with pearl clutchers, your charming articulations, your big heart and kind soul - can’t wait for Ren to see your stuff, if he hasn’t already, and can’t wait for your channel to blow up. Looking forward to your reaction-revisited posts :)
I was on the live chat I enjoyed your "RENdition" 😅 you mentioned about the " kick in the face"... They had just finished I shot the sheriff/ road to Zion/ HipHop Marley and Dead Prez cover. It's a MUST SEE... anyway... He said it's like getting a massage and then getting kicked in the face... To go from that right into Ozzy❤😂😂😂 I loved them both but the Marley/ Dead Prez mash up was quite a bit better IMO.😎 Oh, and the sexy guitar is being played by Romain ( pronounced like the lettuce) Axisa. And he himself has a GORGEOUS voice ❤
Okay, so I was a teenager in the 70s, and it warms my old crone heart to see younger artists loving "our" music enough to do it such justice. Another great reaction!! Can't wait to watch Chalk Outlines with you.
I was literally about to say the same thing. I've always said that this new era of musicians were all industry babies with zero originality basically every song sounds the same. Low and behold out of nowhere Ren , the big push , chinchilla and a whole movement of artist are coming out of the wood work with real actual talent and love for music not money. Renewed my trust in future music.
I hope your channel grows. Love your style and the knowledge and expertise. You are articulate, intelligent, and kind. I discovered Ren in January and never have I been enamored by any performer as I've been by Ren, and everyone with him. And there is no song he does that I don't like. That just never happens. Plus everything he does is so different from everything else. Liked your "rendition" pun of his covers. Please more Ren as it is so adorable to see your discovery play out. Through discovering Ren, now I've found walterooski, my favorite reactor. Keep up the great work!
I read this entire comment with a shit eating grin 😂 such wonderful things to say, I feel so undeserving! Thank you so so much, my friend. Truly, I’m honored.
The REN-dition is sooooo bitchin'! This is one of my most favs from The Big Push. I'd have to say ALL of these guys are super talented beyond my wildest thoughts. I sure hope Black Sabbath would be proud of this. Peace and love always until there is no more!😊❤
Side note, you have an incredible ASMR voice… and then this RIDICULOUSLY IMPRESSIVE medley… your reaction is for sure like a massage paired with a lovely kick in the face
A blinding reaction to some mercurial musical maestros. You should absolutely check out Ren on the gosh darn bass for the truly wonderful Wade in the Water. Unmissable.
Yeah, they tear this up. "Chalk Outlines" and "How To Be Me" live with Chinchilla should be your next choices. They are yet again another different "flavor" from Ren. Two of the most outstanding duet performances I have ever seen. In fifty years. Blessings.
Oh Walter we love the RENdition and the multiple tuning forks ringing in loins if I heard you right OMGoodness you have me laughing and loving out loud, love love love it! bless you sir and have a great day, keep on trucking we're thoroughly enjoying the journey!
Do "Icarus," but do the behind the scenes/making of skit along with it. It's hilarious & really shows off the boy's acting skills too. I'll try to get word to Ozzy, but my connects aren't what they used to be 😉✌🏼
Killing in the name of ... a homage to Rage against the machine .. loving your reactions to Ren ... we need this man to get better we can not lose another savant early ...
I left some of my favorite Ren recs/requests on a previous video, but after hearing you mention lighter stuff being mixed in, I want to also recommend reacting to Ren/ “The Big Push - Bongo Bong (Manu Chao cover)” for a little fun, lighthearted song in the mix ❤
Your reaction put a huge smile on my face. It also reminded me of how I assume I looked at the last concert I attended in September. One of the members of the stage crew saw me from the stage and had their security give me gutair picks from 2 of the gutairists and the band's set list, so he must have liked my reaction! 😂 I'm relieved to see other people get as excited about music as I do. Of course, I find kindred spirits when I attend festivals, which I do yearly, but most don't get my obsession with music. I love the extra bit of background info you give on the bands being covered. I was not allowed to listen to Black Sabbath or anything related while growing up, so I know (and love) the music but not necessarily the history. 😊 🤘
“Multiple tuning forks ringing in loins” is the best thing I have heard in a long time 😂 my favourite of theirs is the I Shot The Sheriff medley, he’s outstanding in that one from the same gig. Also in the most respectful way - he looks fire in this, I mean he’s stunning anyway but in this *chefs kiss*. I love seeing how excited you get! 🖤
New Sub just to see the Bob Marley/Dead Prez cover, Bongo Bong, and the “Wade in the water/nina simone/trouble so hard” reaction. You have awesome insight into his music.
Enjoying your reaction here and on the other Ren videos. I suggest you play “Crutch” or “It’s Alright” (the non-Big Push version). Both are earlier Ren songs I’m sure you will like. See you next time.
I so enjoyed watching you be totally ravaged by this performance! When I saw Paranoid on your shirt I knew you were in for a fun surprise. I'm going to echo what others are saying that 'I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop' is a must see. 'Wade in the Water/Trouble So Hard' is also up there, with a more soulful Ren shredding on bass. I'd also be sure to hit their 'Paint It Black' at some point. I could go on to list every single one of their performances but I'll spare you (for now) 😂
This whole set is something I’m juiced for 😂 It’s been a blessing and a curse doing this thing where I can only listen to up to what I’ve recorded and I can only learn about Ren from the comments. There is this awesome sense of constantly being blown away and wanting more, yet, a gratification in waiting. What I’ve learned from everybody in the comments about Ren makes me feel like he and I are kindred spirits, the same as I’m sure many others do. As a musician, I can appreciate his virtuous musicianship. As a person with my own internal demons, I can’t relate to his lyricism. As a person with an altruistic view, I relate to one when I see it. He is truly awe inspiring with his work. That being said, thank you for your support, my brother 🖖
@@walterooski I truly commend you for your restraint, I don't know that I would have the willpower 🤣 Really looking forward to continuing on the journey with you. If you haven't done so already, I would take some time to read up on what he's been through with his health, it will put his more personal songs into context and they'll be much more powerful. He has an in depth write up about it on his GoFundMe page (UA-cam won't let me link it but it should be easy to Google). There's also a video of him on his UA-cam page from 2014 that shows him at one of his lowest points (it's the one posted right before Hi Ren). It's a hard watch, but will make you so proud and happy for how far he's come since then. Much love and onwards down the rabbit hole!
I love how excited you are 😂 Everyone in The Big Push are damn good, but you also can’t deny that Ren is surely a big reason for their success. You really couldn’t ask for a more charismatic frontman. Ren just brings you in.
The YT algorithm just suggested this video (because I'm always searching for Ren reactions). Dude, this was so beautiful. Your physical reactions were a gift, your insights are on point, and your love of music is evident. Well done. You've gained a follower. Cheers.
Welcome to the Rooskis, my friend! I am ecstatic, if, still a little puzzled that the algorithm suggested me 😂 I am juiced that the music kept you and that the insights were worth your time! Truly, I’m honored 🖖
This band is so amazing! Seeing them in person would have been incredible - hopefully, they can play together again after Ren completes his treatment in Canada. Thank you - lets keep it going! The I shot the sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop busking video is amazing (if you haven't done it yet)!
I've actually been thinking a lot about the order I want to react in. There are clearly very heavy songs that get requested, but after doing 3 of his heavy songs in a row, I needed to balance myself out with three songs that I knew I loved. I think, from here on out, I'm going to balance myself out by alternating videos of heavy emotional songs and more lighthearted works. I've had a lot to process with some of these reactions because they do hit close to home for me in a lot of ways and I have a tendency to trap myself in my own darkness if that makes any sense. I think trying to reflect on one heavy piece at a time is going to be much easier with the balancing act of his busking performances.
@@walterooski Absolutely - this music is so emotional and relatable that you really do have to find a balance in how much you take on. I am sure that all of us would be happy to give you a heads up about which songs are deep and heavy vs fun and energizing. Very much enjoying your reactions, so please take good care of yourself!
Great reaction man! I love both your genuine reactions and your knowledge of the music. It's interesting to hear you pick out the elements of the Black Sabbath songs. I know there's a mix in there but the only thing I could personally pick out was the Rage nods. I was never much into heavy early 90's metal but I love how Ren does it!
It is so much fun watching you discover these songs. It's joyous, and your insights into the musicianship really add something extra for those of us who don't play. So much goes over my head musically otherwise. (I am as musical as soup. I need all the help I can get!)
Their cover medley of I Shot The Sheriff/Road To Zion/Hip Hop from this same street performance is ridiculously good.
Definitely do I shot the sheriff, zion, hip hop
Hell yeah, thinking it was maybe what they played just before this - like a musical massage before a 🦶🏻 in the face 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼
Please please please do this one next! This one is amazing!! I was so excited to watch this one today, can't wait to see the rest of your Ren journey!
Yep, I shot the sherrif, zion, hip hop
Please, please do the I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop! Also try some rap-The Hunger, the newest release, Illist of Out Times.

Speaking of Guitarists with missing digits, one of Ren's biggest influences is Django Reinhardt - (See the reference in Ren The Hunger).
You are officially my FAVOURITE reactor ever. Your kind nature is wonderful.
