  • I was lucky enough to finally come across one of the newer Style of One handers for a decent price.
    The Cobra 75 WX ST is the most common ultra compact on the market right now and for good reason. Its packed full of features and preforms decently when transmitting and receiving. Overall I'm happy with its performance and can't wait to get installed permanently in one of the cars.

    Friend had one of these lying around in excellent shape. Gave it to me to put it in my government vehicle. Was surprised how easy it was to install, because he had it set up just to plug into a cigarette lighter. Also gave me a Wilson little wil antenna and she's easily going 3 miles with clear reception. This little unit surprise me and definitely functions as intended. Thanks for the video. I always enjoy your easy-going Style. Can learn a lot from you.

    Dude I really love your Cb reviews and what not, I started in Cb back in 88-89 and with the exception of most of the 2000s I got back into in 2014 not realizing it was still going! Folks like you I believe help keep it going, thanks brother.

    definitely disappointing that there's no separate keyed and memory power wires. the last radio i bought for my Jeep was the same way, and was the reason i ultimately let it go with the Jeep rather than pulling it out when i sold it.
    awesome videos! found your channel a few days ago and have been watching all the videos like crazy! Thanks!

    I have one of those rattling around the house somewhere. I had it mounted in a '99 Ford Escort. It's a great little CB. I used it primarily for long road trips and getting road reports. When the Escort died, I removed my CB and sent the car on its way. Maybe it's time to dig that CB out and mount it in the Malibu.

    Great video. I also noticed you've got the coffee trifecta on the shelves behind you; Folgers, Sanka & Maxwell House.

    I just found my early one in a box, hooked it up and it runs!. It was in my F250 forever. I run 2 Meter and GMRS in addition to CB in my Jeep, I may put this in it and take out the boxy CB in it now which I keep around for Logging Trucks and the off roaders.

      It certainly is a feature packed radio. I've made a few contacts with it and they say the built in mic sounds good as well.

    Great info! The wire situation is a problem, I think. Cool radio with lots of features!

      I really liked the radio, but that power wire issues is a real problem. I Guess if you don't mind not having the memory stuff stay with you when you turn the car off its a great unit, but I don't have the memory required to go with the other option. I'd be getting constant reminders that I had forgotten to turn the radio off by having a dead battery!

    If it’s anything like my midland 75.822 it does not need power to save its memory it does it the modern way with an internal battery. If yours isn’t saving the little battery inside is probably dead and would it be pretty quick and easy to change

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  4 роки тому +3

      That was it! It must have one since it does keep memory now that it has been installed a while.

    Hi, i really liked your review, a week ago a friend of mine gifted to me one of these radios, other than the cable issue like yours my main problem is that i don't have the wiring box. I figured the pinout by opening it anche checking with a multimeter. Can you please confirm to me that inside that little box there is no voltage regulator or something else ? I belive it's there just to make wiring easier .
    Thanks
    Giacomo

      Sorry, I have no diagram for that radio. I do recall it being a bit of a pain to replace the wiring, but it can be done.

    Years ago I had my cb radio squelched up and forgot I had left the cb on when I went into work.Moments later a younger buddy of mine that didn't know anything about cb radios came in and said,Hey...Ummm.....Your car is talking. lol Anyhow, 10 dollars is a sweet deal.

    Eric how do you stop the static?

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  5 років тому +1

      You need to adjust the squelch dial until the radio falls silent. Don't go to far or it will blank out everything.
