- Architecture is a great drawing subject, but the detail can be challenging. Learning to see the detail, but then to draw the more overall visual effect it creates, is an incredibly useful drawing skill that can be used for any subject where the detail is overwhelming. (Think leaves or bricks). It makes complex subjects possible to draw in even short periods of time, and makes them a lot of fun as well! The reference photo can be found on the channel Community Page for you to have a go after watching the video.

that tip about the tree/vegetation is pretty useful! I am grateful that you have informed me about it. Is it the same with drawing bark, rocks, clouds, and mountains as well? I find those hard to render and I don't know how to do it.
note to self: Drawing vegetation tips: draw the outline of the plant, then shade it afterwards
The principles are the same for any subject, including architecture, not just nature. I have a playlist on this subject that shows a lot of different subjects being drawn this way. 😀
Could you talk about gestural drawing? What is it?
Please make a video on rocks.
I’ve made a few already. You might have your scroll back a little. Edges are crucial in drawing rocks. 😀
