Wonderful video. I was so into following you that I didn't notice the music in the background. I had to go back and listen to it again to see what folks were complaining about. Music isn't bad. It kind of makes me want to go faster with my stitches. Good choice. Look forward to watching other videos of yours. Thank you for taking time to teach us.
You are holding your crochet thread/yarn exactly like my grandma taught me. I’m 76. She never read patterns but could copy anything even the finest of work. It is Dec. 2022 now. I realize this is older.❤
I'd just like to say out if all the arcade stitches I tried your one is the best I'm a beginner and your teaching come out the best Thankyou so much love my crochet my husband and children loved it to again THANKYOU
How are you doing with your crochet? I am 60 and I started last month. This one and bobwilson123 has made it easier for me to learn. All the women before me were awesome crafters. Me, I am the scientist. Good Luck!
@momandsoncookingshow3623 thanks for the suggestion of another helpful crochet channel to take a look at! ps i know this comment is old but for anyone else reading this, yes, bobwilson123 was rebranded as crochet with clare
Not perfect, but I wanted it written out for myself. Pattern Row 1: Ch 1, [Repeat: 7 DC in chain space, skip stitch, SC, skip stitch] SC into final stitch Pattern Row 2: Ch 4, Skip 3, SC 3, [Repeat: Ch 3, Skip 5, SC 3] at end Ch 1 and DC in last stitch on row. Pattern Row 3: Ch 3, 3 DC in chain space, skip stitch, SC , Skip Stitch, [Repeat: 7 DC in chain space, skip stitch, SC, skip stitch] at end 4 DC in last chain space Pattern Row 4: Ch 1, SC 2, Ch 3, [Repeat: Skip 5, SC 3, Ch 3 ] at end (after skip 5) SC in last stitch (it doesn't really look like the end, but just do it)
Thanks, fordictionclass. Your written instructions helped me A LOT with keeping track of which row I was doing. You took me step by step, row by row. Thanks again for the help :)
Thank you so very much for teaching us this wonderful stitch. I've already started crocheting a scarf. You are an awesome teacher that truly has the gift of teaching crochet.
Melissa Gingerich if it was blue and pink on Pinterest I'm working on one that one 🙂 I'm also glad she posted this pattern piece for a example piece. Thank you very much
Thank you, I look forward to making a blanket using this pattern. I enjoyed your tutorial and the way you showed your placement of stitches, you are very clean and easy to follow. :)
Loved your tutorial I know some people didn't like the music but I did like the music. Usually I'm feeling like the tutorials drag out the music helped and you have perfect speed.
Your video tutorials look so clean and with clear instructions! You did a wonderful job! I can easily follow the pattern watching it! Not the music or the troubled camera focus bother me. I know how difficult is to make a video tutorial of only a few minutes! Appreciate the time you dedicate on this!
I was wait8ng for a day when I felt like tackling a new stitch, thinking, for some reason, thayvit was difficult. OMG, it’s easy peasy. It’s basically a 7dc fan stitc with a few added stitches. It’s going to look amazing in a lightweight cardigan! Thank you so much! I could kiss you (just kidding, I’d have to settle for a virtual high five)!!
I love this stitch. Even with extra chunky acrylic, soft yarn it still looks beautiful! Some stitches can get hidden when using the extra chunky yarns but this one is perfect for my project (white Unicorn blanket with hood) Thanks for such an easy to follow tutorial. May I suggest that you add the written pattern as a caption so us visual learners can also learn the pattern abbreviations too?.. Thanks :) xx
I was wondering if you can show how to do this stitch in a round? I can't figure it out, I'm kinda new at this and I'm making a skirt and need to find out how quickly. If that is possible I would be so grateful!
I am absolutely beginner in crochet but i love this pattern and this tutorial given me the first sucess piece 😁 and also a good marketing because i ordered my first yarn from you 😁 and i love your elegant black crochet hook as well! Where can i buy a same? I did not find in your website :( thank you!
Hi, I love the stitch! I was wandering if there is a way of increasing as I will like to use the pattern for a summer top. I'll really appreciate your help!
Thank you very much. Video was easy to follow and hear. Could you please describe how to increase stitches during. I would like to make a sweater with this pattern, not a perfect square. Thanks again!
Hi! I absolutely love your tutorials, thank you for teaching me so much. I’m almost done with this blanket (done in Bernat Pop! Foggy Notion (about 4 soft colors in 1 skein) and I wondered what you think a good border stitch would be for this pattern? I feel it looks unfinished without some kind of border but don’t want to make it too busy. Thanks again!
that looks great. It would be much easier on the eyes if the background was contrasting with the beautifully coloured yarn. Could the contrast of the yarn and working table be kept in mind.
Than you very much for this tutorial, very easy explained... I do like to make a summer top with this pattern, I just want to know if this pattern eats a lot of yarn...as I already have some yarn I want to use that! thanks in advance !
Thank you for the tutorial, very easy to follow. Loved the music, btw. Have done a good-looking practice swatch, now onto a full size project. Any advice for changing colors?
Beautiful stitch. I'm going to attempt to make a blanket with this. I love the color but the link doesn't have the nude pink. About how many skeins of this yarn will it take to crochet a full size blanket??
Thanks for the cool video. I'm absolutely obsessed with the arcade stitch and want to make a cute summer top from the top down. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can increase alternating rows?
Hi! Thanks for the kind words. We have a couple of summer tops using this stitch here: www.woolandthegang.com/product/sun-is-shining-top/crochet-your-own www.woolandthegang.com/product/when-doves-crochet-top/crochet-your-own
are you sure it isn't a multiple of 6 +2 because no way do I end up with 5 chains with 6+1 ... and like say you do 19 go into the 18th chain... so you minus 2 for first sc so that's 16 then -3 you skip 13 left then -3 sc 10... -3 you skip 7 left... -3 sc ... 4 left... is this only me? am I wrong? I do go into the right chain when I turn too. but a 6 +1 no matter what the number DOES NOT LEAVE 5 CHAINS!! 6 + 2 does though.
mellowangelfree yes, the foundation row should be multiples of six plus two. The way she did it confuses. She did multiples of six plus one plus one as turning.
I so far have figured it out... For 24+1+1 turning chain, Instead of going into the 3rd stitch when skipping 3, chain 3..I go into the fourth, when skipping three, chain 3. Then I'm left with 5 at the end. But if I do 30 chain+1+1 turning chain, then I can go into the 3rd stitch when skipping 3 chaining 3.
Neli Hristova absolutely! just work your starting chain in multiples of six till it's the width you want and then add one more chain for your 6+1 chain multiple.
Thank you very much for a really helpful video. I also found the music really annoying - you have a lovely voice, there is no need for background noise.
thank you, lovely music. I am new to this craft, I understand chain 6 until I have a length I desire. Than chain one extra, does that mean just one more stitch or chain one more set of 6?????
Hi Melanie! You might have to adjust the number of double crochets in the arcade stitch for when it is going around a corner, that way it will have enough length! Let us know how it works out! :)
Luv this stitch...so butiful...
Luvd your pace of instructions...
❤😊❤
I love the design of the arcade stitch. I have a great nephew just borned and I am going to make his baby afghan in this pattern!
Lucinda Magwood i know this is kinda old but what color are you using/did you use ps hope it turns out great
This is now my favorite 'go to' stitch......easy, quick, and versatile. I love the Arcade stitch.

My piece came out fantastic😃 Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful!
Thank you, very easy to follow the way she explained and showed.👌🏼
Not perfect, but I wanted it written out for myself.
Pattern Row 1: Ch 1, [Repeat: 7 DC in chain space, skip stitch, SC, skip stitch] SC into final stitch
Pattern Row 2: Ch 4, Skip 3, SC 3, [Repeat: Ch 3, Skip 5, SC 3] at end Ch 1 and DC in last stitch on row.
Pattern Row 3: Ch 3, 3 DC in chain space, skip stitch, SC , Skip Stitch, [Repeat: 7 DC in chain space, skip stitch, SC, skip stitch] at end 4 DC in last chain space
Pattern Row 4: Ch 1, SC 2, Ch 3, [Repeat: Skip 5, SC 3, Ch 3 ] at end (after skip 5) SC in last stitch (it doesn't really look like the end, but just do it)

Thanks, fordictionclass. Your written instructions helped me A LOT with keeping track of which row I was doing. You took me step by step, row by row. Thanks again for the help :)

I just saw this pattern. They used two different colors. It was considered a mermaid blanket. Since it looks like scales! So glad you posted this!!

I agree about thicker yarn...😊
Thank you for the tutorial. This pattern has stumped me more years than I should admit. I think the three sc made the difference.

Thank you for the lovely tutorial
this is so beautiful and was so easy, I made this into a throw.
I love the music. I have your videos play in the background be the music is so relaxing. Also, tutorials are super easy to follow. Nice work.
What a wonderful tutorial! I do agree about the music, just a little too repetitive and loud.
Hi, I love the stitch! I was wandering if there is a way of increasing as I will like to use the pattern for a summer top. I'll really appreciate your help!
An increase would be done just as a normal 8ncreasr but I'd do just a double increas of two in 3 sets
I shall try this, in miniature, for my dollhouse.
Very lovely stitch! This would make a wonderful hat if it could be worked in the round.
Beautiful pattern. I would to crochet a triangular shawl with it.
Thank you very much. Video was easy to follow and hear. Could you please describe how to increase stitches during. I would like to make a sweater with this pattern, not a perfect square. Thanks again!

multiples of 6 plus 2 for the chain.

This is a good tutorial but it's hard to see what's going on🙈
Going to attempt to make a table runner in this pattern.

This pattern is beautiful. I tried it but both my sides are uneven , not straight like shown. Pls help.
Muy hermoso, gracias por compartir
thank you
What kind of a border would you do to finish this blanket? I am having difficulty in figuring one out. Can you help? Thanks
I love this stitch but to follow you and using light pink with a white background is a bit to hard for me to see , plus not zoomed in enough either

so how many chain stitches in the beggining? or is it up to us? and how can we decrease it or increase it?
Buena la explicación saludos desde italia Italia ItaliaItalia
THANK YOU!!! music didn't bother me at all. 🎶
I need instructions for an Arcade crochet shawl and left handed if possible.
I'm new to this... how many chains are there to start with?
the wool looks so soft and beautiful though!!
Hi, can you please put the written pattern back in your description?
I have a question how do I decrease I want to use it as a close up for my bags
Second row, I always ending with 4 stiches left :(
me tooooo
Are you doing multiples of 6 plus one for the turn stick at the end?
thank you, lovely music. I am new to this craft, I understand chain 6 until I have a length I desire. Than chain one extra, does that mean just one more stitch or chain one more set of 6?????
Chain one is Only one stitch
Do as many chain 6 as you want to get width desired then add 1 chain on the end...then your ready to go...
love this pattern. How would you go around a corner with this stitch ? thank you
Hi Melanie! You might have to adjust the number of double crochets in the arcade stitch for when it is going around a corner, that way it will have enough length! Let us know how it works out! :)
