Welcome! I'm Lori, and I founded Teach Through Love because I'm passionate about helping adults resolve daily conflicts and nurture children's development by using conscious communication.
Parents, teachers, and caregivers are the most influential people in a child's life. My Conscious Parenting Courses and Communication Cards have helped thousands of parents and professionals break free of reactive patterns and unconscious beliefs about "discipline" that keep them stuck in negative cycles with kids.
I want to help adults increase cooperation and connection by communicating in ways that help kids feel heard and capable of change. We can help them reach their full potential and learn to solve conflicts and collaborate with others when we shift how we respond to their needs and feelings.

i love how you brought the negative comments to light and showed the humor in them, and how you brought your daughter into the frame. truly beautiful and lol. I haven't watched all your vids but "turning parents away from God??" Lol My love for God and desire to love according to His will is what lead me to conscious parenting. My desire is to break old cycles learned from parents and grandparents before me. I'm frustrated that parents in the Christian community have such ridged ideas about discipline. I truly believe that this style of parenting most closely lines up with the heart of our Creator. Each one of us is an individual deserving of love and respect. Age doesn't change the amount of love and respect we deserve. God sees outside of time, and we as parents are just further along in our human journey. And we have been given the task of guiding our children on their journeys.

I was also thinking recently about the word discipline.. Same root word as disciple. I can imagine Jesus ever spanked one of the 12 apostles lol He spoke to them calmly and taught them what He knew. He understood their limits and His goal was to train them in the way they should go. This is how I want to "discipline" my children.

I'm with you. As a Christian, I'm looking for ways to model Christ's love to my daughter, and to treat her with the same grace God shows me - constantly. It was a class at church on Grace-Based parenting by Tim & Darcy Kimmel that launched my curiosity into other calm/gentle parenting techniques. You don't have to agree with everything with everything everyone says to get a nugget of truth or something helpful from another parent. Regardless of our religious belief, I think we all love our children and truly mean well. We're all just looking for better tools to help achieve a great purpose. I'm thoroughly enjoying the videos!

You are such an amazing teacher and PERSON. Thank you for all that you do. I really hope that you BLOW UP all over the internet and media. EVERYONE needs your messages and tools. I appreciate how WELL you are able to distill the information you've gathered in your own journey. You're a guru worthy of world-wide followers. May your ideology permeate every industry for lasting global effects. We could all use your framework for consciousness and mindfulness, and I'm so grateful you followed your calling in Life. You've just saved mine...and my sensitive little genius. I sincerely cannot thank you enough. And btw, I love your presence, voice, eye-rolling, and whatever others have criticized. It's all comforting, present, and awakened. YES!

I appreciate the message - not losing one's cool so important! I discuss this in the last video on my channel as well, from a parenting perspective. I hope messages like ours empower people to achieve inner peace! I just subscribed to your channel too, keep up the content.

I think the hardest thing about this is recognizing when I'm triggered in the moment. Certain tones of voice put me in fight or flight. If I'm in a good headspace, I can separate and make boundaries, but if not then it can get messy. I suppose letting the other person know that I'm not in a good headspace and would like to talk later is a good option, but sometimes that's not possible. I'm wondering if you have any suggestions. Love this video! Glad to have found you ☺️

The hardest thing for me about not taking others comments personally is when the same rules, especially in the work situation, don't apply to everyone equally. For instance, someone is allowed to not do their job when you are a hard dependable worker. Usually, that person. Will make rude comments about how poor your work ethic is. I'd love to be able to not be so sensitive to such criticism

Oops. I think I delected my message by mistake?
    Here goes again!
I can´t believe the comments other people (and yourself) get - that people criticize so much. I laughed a lot when your daughter came into the picture there, after reading the comments, fun! :)
