after visiting henry at rainy day antiques every night for the past 6 months i decided to take a trip to see Donna at the Starlight Diner
Rainy day antiques was my first sleep story too and I love it ❤️ I hope you get some great sleep!
It's a great place. I imagine lying on the lounge, staring at the sky. Also eating a lovely piece of lemon meringue pie with fresh cream.
I never knew the distant sounds of a busy diner would be soothing to me. The staff chattering, silverware clinking, dishes being stacked against each other, the little, silver service-bell being rung, plates being set down on the counter table, drawers being pulled in and out, foot steps walking slowly past tables, tables being cleared of their dirty dishes, cups being sat down & clinked, ect. I freakin love it 😊

I accidentally bought headspace last year and my year long subscription is over now. I can’t justify spending $70 on another year long subscription but I swear my mental well being was completely controlled by doing these sleepcasts. I’m so happy this was uploaded because it was one of my favorites 🥺
I did the exact same thing lol. But these sleepcasts are such high quality it’s somewhat worth it
Yeah I love the app, I don't use it nearly enough but it's a lifesaver when I do, and the sleepcasts are one of the best parts. But the price point, while legitimate, is way more than I can afford even for the value it offers :( If I hadn't gone back to school and thus become eligible for the super deep discounted student/teacher plan, I wouldn't have a membership at all. (If you can somehow get on that plan, though, it's like $10-15 a year as I recall! I renewed last fall but afaik this is still a thing. Hope this info helps someone out there!)

The voice inflections and pacing is so very intentionally perfectly soothing.
I know these work because after a few weeks of them I still discover parts I missed of the story.
I think I’ve listened to most of the sleep stories and this is the best because elf the narrator.
I do wish the background noises would become as loud as the voice when the story ends because I’ll often wake up and try to turn it back on but find that it’s still playing just inaudibly. Lol
This diner existed but closed recently 😢. Wildwood new Jersey was known for its dowoop music and famous diners. Buildings of a former glory crumbling or torn down. Some remain renamed filled with new exciting menus. Motels repainted to attract new costumers and some given an overhaul. The starlights quality went down during the covid 19 pandemic. Its days were near the end with bad reviews. Sadly it closed a few years ago. I went one time when i was little and i could remember the highly stacked pancakes. Best breakfast i ever had from gray high tops and the pretty neon lights outside. How i miss that!
