I can't explain the immense joy it gives me when Richard uses his full brainpower to troll Tomer, his potential is truly unmatched when he's given the proper medium to do so.
I love the Kaldra troll, and it's great content. at 26:41 I can see the piece is in Richard's hand, and Tomer has Glasses of Urza in his hand; Tomer only has enough mana to play the glasses and is passing his turn without playing it. It's hard to resist the urge to shout at my screen "No Tomer! Just play your Glasses! No! No! Don't end your turn NOOOOO!". lol.
i am in so much awe of Richard's creative juices. what a brilliant concept and execution of a secret santa deck. the simplicity, novelty, and elegance of splitting the pieces between the two decks and building Tomer's list to find the specific piece in his own deck... pure genius. many props/kudos/and a very humble 'we're not worthy'. Thank you all as always for the stellar content and entertainment.
Also.. at the end everyone should write down who their guess was and reveal it simultaneously. There should be points for guessing correctly and making other people guess wrong.
So many great things to say (Kaldra Incomplete!), but my favorite is Tomer thinking Turtles were trash, only to prove Richard right about "bad tribe tribal" being an OP deck style that popped off.
Awesome episode, in spite of the *womp womp* ending. I was so invested throughout the game in seeing if Tomer would figure out the hidden theme of the deck, and then once he did, see if he could eventually put it together. Props to Richard for the amazing deck idea.
When Seth was going to 2 from his own enchantment, I half-expected Tomer to bounce something to his hand with Capsize in response to the trigger for lethal.
Seth, as I am also a Blimm player, you NEVER play the Phyrexian Negator until you are sure you can give it away. You shouldnt have cast both the commander and the Negator on the same turn. Hold up three mana and threaten a Bedevil, unlicensed disintegration, or wicked end. You set yourself up for failure, Seth.
21:08 this is an interesting moment i think because crim attempts to make reference to tomers love of dralnu, but the way he describes dralnu is too close to tomers current commander, so it confuses him into seeing a synergy that i don't think crim noticed at all
Hey Tomer, about your one piece turtle question. The only Turtle I can think of in one piece isn't a pirate. But he does pulls a car for transportation for one of the characters in the Alabasta arc while smoking a cigar and thats pretty neat
As painful as it is to say it, the deck for Seth was perfect. He never rarely plays his commander, and suffered for it this time - there were so many cards that were so great to use against his opponents, yet he went for the greedy card draw instead of a single turn of setup to avoid all the self-inflicted damage. lol...
feels like the mtgo crash at the end of game influenced their decision to switch to paper in season 16. 2+ hours of gameplay only for mtgo to crash feels bad man
Man I love Richard's idea for this deck, it would've been really funny if Tomer actually pulled it off! Also all the more interesting that Tomer had a missing card that conveniently morphed into the Kaldra piece.
I actually have a deck similar to what tomer was playing. I run half of a bunch of classic combos, flicker cat, kiki, exquisite bond, demonic consultation (without the oracle), Naru meha, phage, abyss peer, etc and I spend the game trying to seach my opponents libraries for other halfs of the combos
Tomer: I think keep Seth around he's a wild card. Seth *instantly does wild card things Tomer: If you go for Crim's face Ill crack O Stone - I dont want to Seth: I dont want to discard!!!! - O stone
Archelos is VERY underappreciated in my book. He makes a great STAX/POLITICS commander. Make everything enter tapped, lock down with stasis/winter orb and use commander to play around them. I played it for a couple weeks and everyone complained so much I took it apart.
Based off Crims deck in Battle Cruiser magic week, I was expecting him to make a troll tribal deck. Thrun, mossbridge troll, clack bridge troll, ect...
game idea: each player gets one piece of Kaldra or Worldslayer whoever can steal all three pieces from the opponents, make Kaldra and trigger Worldslayer wins.
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" 'Tis the Season! Will Tomer gift out enough coal to make everyone else look like the real Santa or will Seth find new ways to spread the xmas spirit? Tune-in to find out!
1:56:30 Why would Seth cast and give away Demonic Lore here when he instead could cast and give away Experimental Frenzy? It would still have given him the chance to find a land from top of his library and more importantly - giving the Experimental Frenzy away to Crim would stop Crim from casting Genesis Wave and also make Mind's Eye useless. He would also be guaranteed to live, since Crim traded away all his creatures and noone of the other players would want to kill Seth as it would unlock Crim again.
Gaea's Liege got a lot better thanks to Agatha's Soul Cauldron and I'm happy he's relevant again after all these years, but I didn't expect to see him without help
Always love the gift decks episodes. For next time though, wouldn't it be more fun if everyone names who they think built their deck before you reveal who it actually was? Because now for Richard and Tomer they had only 2 more options instead of 4.
Crim should've been tapping down the gaea's liege to make opponent lands forests during each of Seth's end steps. He keeps talking about how bad it is and not using it to mess with mana bases and being able to attack later
Richard's troll deck idea was definitely the best. The only way it could have been better is if Tomer's deck had *no* Kaldra pieces in it at all, and instead each opponent had a single piece in their deck.
Richard's deck idea is insanely creative!
It's so mean! I love it XD
But I’m confused. How does Richard have the third piece in his deck if Tomer built his deck?
@@crawdaddy1234 i was curious myself how that worked, and how it was executed via MTGO (and/or keeping it under wraps)

Richard's build for Tomer with the idea of finding a key piece on someone else's deck is really interesting
Yeah that really took advantage of the theme in a fun way.

1:08:13 "Just to get cards out of my hand, I guess I'll play this howling mine" has to be one of the funniest things I've heard on commander clash
To put Glasses of Urza in the deck in order to spot Shield of Kaldra if in Hand, just genius. And I m so glad it did work out

Seth should have given Crim Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth as well, so that his Forests were Forests in addition to their other types!
That would have actually given Crim an easy win with his Gaea's Leige because everyone's lands would've been forests
his deck didnt have it. Its all basics and dryad arbor

Blim is actually the PERFECT troll deck for Seth. He never wants to play his Commander, so the deck was destined to destroy him. Lol

Richard: that was an AMAZING gift idea! Way to really think about it from multiple levels!
Favorite episode in a long time! The gift ideas, the plays (and misplays), everything was just brilliant! Happy Holidays Goldfish!
I liked this theme quite a lot, and I really wish Tomer had realized what was going on with his deck sooner.
Genius level Richard troll. Now to up the ante: Split up Kaldra and worldslayer between the whole pod and see who can assemble it.
