- A Mississippi teen girl was found guilty of shooting her mom to death. Police bodycam video shows the teen appeared calm and composed when she was arrested. Lawyers argued that she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity but the jury didn't buy it. After just an hour of deliberation, they returned with a guilty verdict. The teen wept openly as the jury recommended a sentence of life without parole.
She acts calm when killing her mother and when getting arrested. Yet gets sad and cries when sent to prison for life. What was she expecting? 5 years with parole?

@@kay.h12 it's possible for parents to be incredibly abusive (doesn't justify it either I'm just saying it's a bit more understandable). I think in extreme situations of abuse of minors they usually have much weaker sentences than life in prison.

@soph7230 It’s rather screwed up to try and defend this girl who murdered someone. As someone who did have a bad home life, your home experience gives zero right to end a life (or hurt people). In rare cases it provides merely an explanation, but never an excuse. This was inexcusable, and this girl is evil (as she herself said). Justice is being served for the woman she brutally murdered, and for the man she attempted to kill.

I can't imagine all the love this mother gave to her daughter only to have the daughter repay it with murdering her. All those 14 yeses of life she gave to her daughter, giving her everything she needs, food, shelter, clothes on her back. The times she stayed up with her whe the daughter was sick. The daughter as a newborn needing everything from her mom. Her mom's love and caring given to her daughter and for all of of it to end like this. Her daughter shooting her 3 times. Knowing she's dying at the hands of her daughter. Her daughter standing over her as she lay dying on the floor. And then to ambush her husband to try and kill him. Clearly things went wrong in this girl's life but I'd imagine the mom never knew just how horribly it would all end.
How can you assume that, id rather think that household had to be pretty messed up, that her daughter wanted to kill her.
