This game has stood out to me more than any other "next gen title". I think once we see Horizon gameplay we will be just as impressed, but as of now I feel like this game is the best example of what early next gen should be

@@rushnerd I love how finicky people get about framerates and lose their minds if they dip for a second or two. I grew up on N64 where games were like slideshows sometimes they were lagging so hard, by comparison EVERYTHING today is amazing. Spend less time complaining and enjoy the games.
I'm glad Insomniac is continuing or concluding (I haven't been keeping track of the news about this game) the future series instead of making a sequel to the reboot. The reboot was fun in terms of gameplay, but the writing and music sucked all the charm out of the Ps2 era and future series.
There was at least one, in the second game on planet Damosel there was a city of test dummy/robotic people in clothing that populated the homes and stuff, it even had a residential area with their homes. The city was overrun with Protopets :)

There is just soo much going on in every scene.. Even in the skies there's birds, cars and stuff constantly in addition to all the other civilians and other crazy stuff transpiring, and all running without a hitch with zero loading, Impressive. PS5 is coming in hot!

A huge step up from their previous game. What’s new likes like it includes: 1. Enemy’s with agility 2. New particle effects on weapons 3. Lifelike NPC (although it doesn’t look like get hurt 4. A new mechanic with portals for fire fights and platforming I liked the reboot game so my taste might not match the majority of other fans but I’m personal excited for this.
Also this game is a continuation of the mainline series not the reboot. Its set after Into The Nexus. However your point still stands this game looks AMAZING and I cried a little when I saw it reveal. Grew up with this series.
It's crazy to think that a ratchet and clank game looks and feels more next gen that a halo game. If anything, this is probably the one game that I've seen that takes full advantage of next gen consoles. Oh how I'm excited for the PS5!!!
Color me impressed. I'm not a Playstation person, but this game actually looks amazing! And the dialog, man, you can actually tell the two are close friends.
Lets not forget this is not everything due to: 1. UA-cam compression 2. Absence of the Dualsense haptic features 3. Absence of the 3D Audio from PS5 I believe the real experience will be like a movie and real breath taking on the console

@MightyPictures But it doesn't look realistic. The game looks super cartoonish and looks like a natural evolution of the original titles and to that extend, the less detail in those looks worse. You're obviously blinded by your nostalgia googles here. Next you're gonna tell me the Spyro Reignited Trilogy also looks worse because it has too much detail.
They need to take this “time rift” idea and add it to Motorstorm. Imagine racing around a track in the middle of WW2 with tanks and explosions etc then drive through a rift and suddenly be on a jungle track with dinosaurs. The combinations could be amazing!
That's actually an interesting idea. Add a multiplayer component, and switchable tracks on the fly. You could switch tracks at will, based on which part of the track would suit you best. If you were in a bike, and a muddy bit is coming up, teleport to a track that you know has smooth surfaces at that point, but maybe is longer.
TheClaw I thought of that but it would be tough to balance and you take the chance of separating you from the competition. But either way I would separate each track into multiple sections that are reversible for variety, add an adjustable global illumination system for different times of day, plus changeable weather that includes extreme stuff like lightning storms, tornados, hurricanes etc then create an AI director to mix and match so no race is ever the same. I’d then give these options to the player with a grid like tool system that let them stitch tracks together and tinker with the time of day and weather and make them shareable. And you could extend the life of the game by adding exotic dlc packs like one with tracks on Mars or the moon or Neptune or an alien planet. Maybe even ones based off of Sony IP’s and they all could be mixed in together to increase variety.

This 7 minutes and 33 second trailer beat the Whole Boring Gamescom away. This is by far the best showed next gen game AMONG ALL the others. Ratchet is my favourite franchise, i grew up in my childhood with R&C and this demo give me Chills. I think we the fans will have now a contender to best game in the franchise, hands down.

I don't think it's that amazing. Gears 5's cinematics still hold up imo. Edit: Don't know what happened to your comment but. Gears 5 had an amazing pc port. I've played it with hdr enabled maxed out at native 4k. It's cinematics looked amazing.
The door opens. 5 pterodactyls fly over your head. A giant fly holding captive a person. 3 people get transformed into plants. A portal opens, and a person is dragged inside. In the back a dinosaur roams free. Several sandsharks fall from above. Giant tentacles come from above and consume their prey. A giant robot falls through the ceiling, breaking the hall in two. And our hero falls into the void. This game is based on chaos and violence with a cartoonish atmosphere, looks AMAZING!!!!! (not sarcasm)
"almost no loading". The transition animation between worlds is to mask the actual loading of the world, because obviously the new SSD isn´t infinitley fast. Still pretty impressive :)

That was my whole point. Also, as I mentioned earlier you can see some clunkiness while the world loads in. If you look closely you can see the worlds popping in, with a slight frame dip and lower quality textures.
Look at the details colors, characters, effects physics, shadows reflections, surroundings only one word AMAZING. PS5 indeed gives lot of flexibility to developers to include as many options as possible.

Wouldn't even be possible on the PS4, because of the Rift mechanics where you jump from one map to another without any loading times. That's only possible thanks to the SSD of the PS5.

Da Ru honestly I was more impressed with halo since that a open world game that said to be 20 hours long and have a multiplayer as well while this is a a linear single play game .
We all saw how it ended for the PS4 "PRO" vs the One X. Literally, a fake 4k vs a native 4k (and overall better graphics). Plus, this game DOES NOT load entire worlds, just the scripted part that you are gonna walk in. It's waaaaaaay different.
Just watching this is making me wish they'd do remakes of all the previous Ratchet & Clank games, or maybe re-release them in one huge collection game, exclusive for the PS5.

There is just soo much going on in every scene.. Even in the skies there's birds, cars and stuff constantly in addition to all the other civilians and other crazy stuff transpiring, and all running without a hitch with zero loading, Impressive. PS5 is coming in hot!

They need to take this “time rift” idea and add it to Motorstorm. Imagine racing around a track in the middle of WW2 with tanks and explosions etc then drive through a rift and suddenly be on a jungle track with dinosaurs. The combinations could be amazing!
That's actually an interesting idea. Add a multiplayer component, and switchable tracks on the fly. You could switch tracks at will, based on which part of the track would suit you best. If you were in a bike, and a muddy bit is coming up, teleport to a track that you know has smooth surfaces at that point, but maybe is longer.
TheClaw I thought of that but it would be tough to balance and you take the chance of separating you from the competition. But either way I would separate each track into multiple sections that are reversible for variety, add an adjustable global illumination system for different times of day, plus changeable weather that includes extreme stuff like lightning storms, tornados, hurricanes etc then create an AI director to mix and match so no race is ever the same. I’d then give these options to the player with a grid like tool system that let them stitch tracks together and tinker with the time of day and weather and make them shareable. And you could extend the life of the game by adding exotic dlc packs like one with tracks on Mars or the moon or Neptune or an alien planet. Maybe even ones based off of Sony IP’s and they all could be mixed in together to increase variety.

There no loading when flying between worlds and those maps looks huge, I’m impresssed..
"almost no loading". The transition animation between worlds is to mask the actual loading of the world, because obviously the new SSD isn´t infinitley fast. Still pretty impressive :)

@@blokin5039 Of course! I never said it would be better without a transition, but it still isn't possible to load entire worlds instantly, even with the new Ssd, at least for now. That was my whole point. Also, as I mentioned earlier you can see some clunkiness while the world loads in. If you look closely you can see the worlds popping in, with a slight frame dip and lower quality textures.

It's nice that they didn't compromise the game with a forced PS4 version.
Wouldn't even be possible on the PS4, because of the Rift mechanics where you jump from one map to another without any loading times. That's only possible thanks to the SSD of the PS5.

Now the exboxsx will have 12, while PS5 will have 10.28. Similar difference. And if you think the storage is an issue, then you're just not well informed enough. Yes, of course people will run out of storage eventually. But due to SSD game size will be smaller. I didn't make that up. Go watch the Mark Cerny presentation where he explained the architecture. And also, for the PS5 you can easily expand the storage no problem from any manufacturer. exboxsx on the other hand needs propietary expansion card to extend the exboxsx storage.
