    Refreshing to see a place unspoiled by all the plastic garbage found in developed countries. We, by contrast, live in a world that has been trashed by all the single-use non-biodegrable packaging of consumer society. Thank you for making such a beautiful record of your trip.

    We recently had a trip to the Lo Manthang but it was mostly a ride, we didn't trek. This video left me to regret on our decision. You really must have an amazing adventurous time.

    • @RamSharanUpreti1981
      @RamSharanUpreti1981  10 років тому

      Hi Ashata, it's good to hear that you at least have been to Lo Mangtang which is an amazing place. I know, you would have different but nicer experience if you have trekked at least one way. Its not really necessary to trek both way because you will be seeing the same thing as long as you don't do the other route via Luri Gompa. Thank you for the comment.

      Yes, Bijay Jee, its was amazing. What a landscape, what a tradition, what a people. Being Nepali, i had to visit it and try to know it because many people from around the world are visiting it everyday and getting to know about the secret kingdom, lost kingdom, forbidden kingdom but many of us are missing it.

    And thank you for sharing your adventure with us! Great to see that the old Tibetan ceremonial traditions are still very much alive in Mustang! I have seen the old videos from Tibet that showed those very performances and thought that they had become extinct. But no, they are alive and well. Thank you for showing us such a wondrous landscape and culture. Blessings to you! Namaste . . .

    Hi Ram, nice video, simple& down-to-earth expression,no script, good one.I just have one suggestion, if u could have shared what u had in breakfast, a bit more of ur experience in & around when in town with natives, if we could had more glimpse of native villagers like the one doing momo's, there houses or may be even the tea stall as u mentioned, would be gr8. Cause, people like us,who just desires to travel far but seldom make it, watches thru ur eyes.

      +sarbagya manandhar The festival takes place every may. Lower mustang and Upper mustang are the same districted but Upper mustang is a restricted area for westerner so they need to get special permit. Upper mustang starts from Kagbeni towards Lomangtang and lower mustang is below Kagbeni, (Jomsom is lower mustang) Both are good.

Yes, permit cost to Upper Mustang is 500 USD for 10 days (inside the restricted area) and of course there is guide cost too. If you are planning this trip, you can write me an email, i will explain you more. Our email address is on the description part :) Cheers, Ram

      Oh that's terrible news! That will doom Mustang in no time! Now everyone will want to zip up to this wondrous land and culture in the comforts of their cars. Part of the experience of reaching such a place is the effort it takes to get there. Forget your car! Get out and walk it. It's the only real way to experience what the region has to offer.

    Thank you for sharing such beauty with us. We are also planing to trek upper mustang We are all nepalis but only some of us have nepali birth certificate and other dont have anything related to nepal . So my question is do nepalis without nepali nagarikta have to get speacial permit or they can go without any permit ???

      @RamSharanUpreti1981  7 років тому

      Hi Sandeep, Thanks for liking my video. I am glad to hear that you are planning a trip to Upper mustang. As per i know, you need to have nepali nagarikta to go Upper mustang with out permits. Otherwise, you need special permit. Best is to ask this question with Nepal Immigration.

    Hello Ram
    it was nice video you made, highly appreciated. As I am planning to visit Lomanthang this year in september. your video helped me a lot. could you suggest me I can take motorbike to lomanthang ? because I have seen 1 Australian guy riding to lomanthang. how was the road for bikes ? and what month were you there. any thanks for sharing this video

      @RamSharanUpreti1981  9 років тому +1

      Hello Bindas jee, Thank you for liking my video. I trekked there but i saw people people taking motorbike too so i think you can take bike. I think there are few place where its difficult for bike to cross the river but there must be the way otherwise those people could not take their bike. I am 99 % sure, you can take your bike to Lomanthang.

    It was very pleasuring watching your video... It was beautiful.... I am actually planning to go to muktinath this year in between dashain & tihar... It would be greatful if you would help me with route... We are actually planning to trek throughout the travel.... I am not sure about lomanthang as it would take quite a lot of time...
    Cheers....

      Thank you Bikash. Even Muktinath trip will be good but of course visiting Upper Mustang is better. Lo-Mangthang will make you feel like you are not in this planet. Its like Moon so why don't you push little bit more and go to Moon when you are at Muktinath :)

      Thanks for your suggestion... I was actually planning to trek from Beni to reach Muktinath but to reach Lomanthang, I guess I should plan trekking from Jomson. 15 days should be enough. I would like to know more about trekking route, lodging availability, expenses & if I have any chance to catch the glimpse of festival over there in October- November period... It would be great if we could chat.....
      Have a nice day...

    Ver Very nice video, Thankyou for uploading,
    My curiosity:
    *Chele and Chusang valley is same or different?
    *From which point we compulsorily have to start walking?

    • @RamSharanUpreti1981
      @RamSharanUpreti1981  7 років тому +1

      Thanks for liking the video. Yeah, Chusang to Chele is the same valley. Chusang is starting point of Valley and Chele the end one. Actually, now a days, you don't have to walk, you can take bus too but i rather walk.

      But I am still confused, there is road for vehicle to Lo Manthang?
      As far I know, Jeeps can go only up to Chusang, and from there we have to walk..... Please make me clear.
      (I had been in Chusang 6 months before)

    • @RamSharanUpreti1981
      @RamSharanUpreti1981  7 років тому

      Yes, there is road for vehicle to Lo Mangthang. It depends on the season too. If the river is big, you have to change the bus otherwise it goes directly to Lo Manthang from Jomsom.

      Hi Karma, where are you from ? if you are not Nepali, you need to get special permits to go to Upper Mustang and you must join a trekking company and book the trip. I have a trekking company called Mountain Ram Adventures, let me know if you want me to organize your trip. You can't book the tea houses hotels individually because they don't know you but we can do it from our company.

      Hi Ashish, Thanks for the comment. I am glad to hear that you are doing Manaslu trek. There are two videos i made when i trekked there, please check them out
      Secrets of Manaslu trek - 1, Manaslu trekking in Nepal
      Secrets of Manaslu trek - 2, Manaslu circuit / Larke pass trekking in Nepal
      My friend Barry from Canada has made beautiful video too, please check this one too
      Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal
      Manalsu is way different than Mustang but its an amazing trek too. You will enjoy it. Don't forget to have proper equipment like Down sleeping bag, Down Jacket, Gloves, Warm hat, few pairs of warm shocks and Crampons would help you passing Larke. Feel free to ask anything, i will be happy to share my experience.

      Ashish adhikari i would not suggest you to do it alone, its best to have at least one more friend then you both can look after each other if something happens. But this is trekking season so i hope you will find people to join soon you start your trekking. My company Mountain Ram Adventures is also operating two groups to Manaslu from 8th October, i hope you meet them. If you meet them, you can follow them and be safe.

      Thank you so much for the comment. I had a group from my company and guide too and i joined them in Mustang part only. The group was doing Annpaurna Circuit + Upper Mustang. NO, there was no problems because we (Nepalese people) don't need special permit but yes, tourists need it and our group had permits so there was no problem. Actually, there is no problem in trekking anywhere in Nepal as long as you have permits. Yeah, water is from spring and its clean :)

      sandhya rai Tiji festival is celebrated by Mustange people and they are Nepalese but yes they are bit similar to Tibetan. And you know that people from southern part of Nepal look like Indian and people from northern part look like Tibetan (Chinese looking) so it's normal that they look like that 😊
