When chambering full length darts, you gotta make sure the priming grip is actively pulled all the way back. The buffer spring pushes the dart pusher a little forward, right at the half length spot, so you gotta pull back the grip again if you primed and let go of the grip for full lengths
@@justbuildgunpla1315yes you do what? The dart pusher doesn't go back far enough for full lengths so you manually have to pull back farther on the prime unless you're slamfiring. Single shots literally require it
if you look, it actually has little screwdriver symbols next to the three screws you need to remove to pull the pump grip, front end, barrel and spring out without getting all up in its guts. Somebody on the design team knew what they were about.
Cracked plunger tubes aren’t just from use, the one I ordered came in broken 😅 probably shippings fault, but still shows it’s flaw. Luckily target sent me another without me having to send mine back. A little JB weld and gorilla tape on the tube and it’s working now, so now I’ve got two to go through! Fun fact: On tear down, I noticed the grip is attached to picatinny rail! Will make grip swaps pretty convenient. Also to note, the blaster is slam fire (don’t know if drac mentioned it)
dan already spoke about it: no one ever reached out to him or talked to him about it, but it's different enough that it's not a copy, they do things different internally, the "orion" text is either a nod or extremally extremally coincidental
Alot of the Foam Flinging groups I'm a part of have lots of people complaining about the plunger tube breaking easily. Some were broken right out of the box. Worth thinking about
Removing 3 screws is all you need to swap the barrel and spring. Alongside a little dremel work, a talon claw length K25, a 45cm lynx barrel, and a worker scar this is by far the cheapest and simplest way to get a 250 fps primary. It's kinda crazy
I would recommend 40cm as that’s closer to the sweet mark when it comes to performance but still long enough to add custom muzzles. Longer barrels increase air friction, and reduce performance due to drag, instability, and a loss of air pressure. However, this is also dependent on the size of the dart being used.
Im excited for this blaster because this is the first half length blaster we can get here off the shelves in the uk. Apart frol this it was obly import them which was just horrendously expensive. So its a big thing for us here in the uk
I got this blaster a couple days ago. I haven't used it in any actual gameplay, but just from shooting it in the backyard, it seems to work really well with ruby darts. Absolutely loving it so far
I think the design looks pretty good. But the main problem i have with X-shot blasters is that the build quality feels really cheap, which is why the price is so cheap. I rather pay a little more for a Dart Zone product that feels sturdier.
The general plastic quality is definitely better compared to the traditional plastic they use. How ever only one quality issue is the plunger tube which can easily be replaced. This blaster is loved by the community and the modders
I think the rail is begging for a carrying handle and riser, personally. The other mod I'd like to see that others haven't seemed to tackle yet is reducing the side to side wobble on the priming handle so it feels more sturdy.
The scar works even without the friction you re talking about because the dart is moving against the edge at any given time. While not slowing it down with too much friction.
I bought two of these, one I kept stock and the other i modded to 300 FPS for super duper ultra performance. Great blaster and the prime is ultra smooth, I love it!
Mods I think would benefit longevity, aluminum/steel/brass plunger tube, run a metal rod through the blaster to stiffen it up or maybe replace the plastic rail with a metal one, and maybe a few other tweaks.
The dart foam is different between the XSHOT and Max darts, to the worker darts. The worker ones have much thicker foam and a tighter ID, and are generally more durable, as well as heavier.
17:20 You can fit 20 half-darts in that 15-darts mag. On the other hand, you can only fit 18 full darts in that 15-darts mag. But you are better with 19 and 17 to avoid jams. It is indeed not a bug but a feature. Also, this thing feeds beautifully from the Buzbee 30-darts drum.
The best thing about this blaster imo is just the fact that it's a pro blaster you can buy on shelves outside of north america for the first time in YEARS
This is one of few dart guns in which it is not needed to pull back the priming handle to insert the mag (safely, without damaging the mag lips). Also, those sights can theoretically be fixed in place with some bolts and nuts.
I have discovered that a Max dictator spring fits in nicely and will bruise people, shot my friend with it and he said it hurt, rolled up his pant leg to find a bruise already formed from the impact😂
Lord Drac great review. Thanks for returning to your classic review formula. About the Xshot Longshot. It is a great weapon for anyone starting to discover the half length darts and the one you share with everybody. The colors are amazing.
Getting into foam about two weeks ago caused me to get back into Borderlands 3. Playing Borderlands 3, makes me want to go shoot foam. Love the Borderlands analogy 😊
Orion has Said they were not consulted in the blasters design. And while that's probably true whoever did design it clearly has a hand in the hobby space as this Blaster has a lot of quality of life things that only make sense if you intend for the community to mod it.
for the darts. while it is likely that the darts come from the same factory its also likely that the factories these companies uses get their foam from the same supplier.
I just got mine and the notoriously fragile plunger tube was cracked on delivery. But it's so cheap, and I love the form factor so much I've ordered an aftermarket tube and if I can switch it out without too much hassle I think this may be my very first mod project.
And by "entrance" as the gesture suggested, we mean "fisting" that Zuru is currently delivering to Nerf. For UK market this the only Dart Zone equivalent we can get without paying over $100 to get things imported. After playing with mods it really shows that it is inconsistent due to the plunger o-ring being very bad (classic Teflon tape helps a lot) and, especially after tefloning, the barrel length is insufficient.
Dan had no part in designing this, but it functions differently. I don't think it uses the lynx turnaround. Also dart zone pro mags are katana geometry.
the half length mag has made mine jam quite severely through the darts struggling to feed from darts stacking strangely, often to the fact that i simply dont use the mag anymore
Have one and got parts to mod it already however the spring i was gonna use is sold out so waiting for those to come back in stock. I may also be one of the 4 people that use katana mags cause before the trion came out I got 10 or 15 game face prime mags off Amazon for under 2 bucks each so 20 ish bucks for 10 mags ill run em all day long. I also like how he put a lynx right up against it and just is like I won't say it but......... budget lynx ? Lol

You very quickly touched on mag compatibility in the outdoor segment but didn’t really say if this blaster will take existing standard Nerf full size dart mags
Most of those plunger tubes were already broken as is as in right out of the box that's first there are all-metal parts for there are brand-new plunger tubes out you could get them from front-line like where I got mine or you could get them from silver Fox or other places It's not a bad Blaster I actually have one and I can enjoy it but I can also tell you I got 300 FPS out of my blaster It's not a direct copy of a lynx either so get that out of your mind That ratcheting prime is caused by the prime lock up top if you remove that lock you will not have that ratcheting prime it'll be a nice smooth prime like I said I run mine at 300 FPS
Thanks for the review, I was wondering when you were going to comment on this blaster. I picked up two, one I am keeping stock the other I have modded by adding a TC-K25 and a 40mm Kuryaka Barrel. The modded blaster is hitting around 205fps. I am concerned about the plunger tube and will preemptively replace both of mine with a metal one when they become available.

That’s honestly genius because adding an alpha trooper grip would fix what most people complain about with the wobbly grip.
i put a chainsaw grip on one just clears the rail
The grip is actually not that wobbly, everyone else is making it seem like it is the most wobbly grip ever
