Nice cake and I believe this is considered a classic that I have not shot yet. I will keep my eye out for this one just so I can check the box. It’s longevity and it has to perform well to be considered a classic. Very nice demo pyro.
Thanks JAM, glad you enjoyed the demo. This was one of the first cakes I ever shot. Probably that whole lineup will live in my mind as classics. Just those memories of that first night... (You can start playing "I wanna go back" by Eddie Money now 🤣🤣)
Nice & I my self love any efforts that fly around in the sky, especially the flying fish and go getters. I think I consider a classic it’s been around for a while. It hasn’t changed very much and one of those go to items you pick up on every trip no matter what you got one in your collection already Bump Bear 🔥🔥 keep them good videos coming
Great definition for "classic"! I love the stuff that flies around too. Especially swimming stars at the moment. I've got a few in the stash for sometime. Also, I shot Screw Loose on the fourth but didn't record it! Gonna have to get me another one of those.
a classic to me is one that has been around for a long time and is still popular , or one that has been around for a long time and many brands have a variation of it
This cake is on my shoot list for the Labor Day display. Definitely a nice cake. The breaks seemed low however, or was that just a filming angle illusion? With regard to classifying something as a classic, well for me that means I like it so much I put into my shows every year (and it's available to do so). In the 200 gram universe, some of my "go to" classics are Wild Card, Silver Screen, Pinnacle, Golden Peacock, Frankenmine, Wall of Willows, and Raging Rottweilers. The last two, believe it or not, come from Phantom. In the 500 gram universe, I have a soft spot for Brothers cakes - Hit the Road, Hi Falutin, Wind Up and the like. The common element across them all is a great mix of effects, pace, shot count, and duration - all wrapped into very reasonable price points. No emphasis on cans, noabs, or cakes that are just about banging and breaks. I aim to create and shoot nice colorful backyard displays for family and friends.
Nice answer to the "classic" question! I definitely have my "go to"s as well. A lot of them are likely because they were some of the first cakes I ever shot. Log Splitter, Cherry Bomber and Bump Bear are all part of that list and Chameleon 5000 is my classic zipper (slightly less expensive than Golden Peacock up here). I might stick a NOAB on there, Mother of All Bombs. I've only shot it once but it really blew my mind! It's funny for me to think about having a "go to" list when I tend to focus so much on constantly trying out new fireworks but that's really a great way to define "classic". Thanks pyro!
Definitely the longevity makes a case. I like the brand variation part a lot. That really says you've got something that a lot of people love.

Nice variety of effects. I was in my local place on Monday and they have a shelf full. Gonna have to grab a few. What’s the cost in your area?
At the tent here in VT they were just over $25 a piece. It's the only vendor where I've found them so far.

P.S. Yes, camera angle issue. I was trying to move towards a different side of my yard and the tree screwed things up.
