- In this video, I build a flask to be used for sand casting projects. I take you through the steps and point out some of the useful points to keep in mind when building a sandbox flask. When metal casting, using a sand casting flask is a great way to make some really cool metal casting pieces that you wouldn't have been able to create using the lost foam technique. Enjoy.

Great video Sir. I’ll be building these this weekend!
Good video. Easy enough to follow directions
Amazing looking box. I only hope that when i try making mine, its comes out as good.
like the window latch idea
Flask looks like a winner, good luck!
Thanks! I'm looking forward to putting it to good use.
@@MakerCK They look good but they could be even better. When you use them, sooner or later you're going to want to set a full flask on edge and your latches and corner brackets will make the flask a little unstable, there's a super easy fix for that, adding spacer blocks, the same thickness as the brackets, on the corners opposite the brackets will allow the flask stand on edge without being tippy.
@@85rocco Your absolutely right! I will make that addition as that sounds like a no brainier. Thanks for the tip.
Awesome video. Thanks.
Your box was awesome 👌 and very perfessional, you could really make some money 💰 selling those . I like how you have the handles and the locks on each side , you even 😏 made sand packers , very nice job .
Nice work!
Thanks for making this! I am myself just in the middle of building my first sand casting flask, which I'll upload a video about soon :) Take care
Great video, thanks! What where the final dimensions of this flask? 12"x16"x?" How many pounds of casting sand do you need to fill this flask?
Good video. Suggest squaring the flasks before you set them aside for the glue to dry. Thank you.
I like your design. We have been using dowel rods and somehow in the 14 inch bell we are trying to cast is paper thin on one side and a big hole. I believe the rods are shifting a causing the casting to be too thin on one saide and making the big holes ...otherwise the bell looks good when cast on the other sides of it. I may make the flask cope that way over the drag....Its discouraging in 4 attempts and having the bell come out with the off center and holes in the side of it
Can you just buy pre made ones, I don't have access to workspace and tools like this.
Actually I wasn't sure of the correct term, so I typed box, but I'd say you were dead on the money, that's how I got here
That's exactly what I typed into Google 😂
