    Showing us how you did each of the steps mentioned would make this a better instructional video.

      Completely agree, that’s why there is a part 1 video, gives you a little more info.

    I use Sno-Seal leather wax as a release agent and J B Weld. To break the action free just shoot your rifle once.👍

    If you have a wood stock will the vinegar mess up the finish of the wood?

      @@alysonstump9670 not in my experience, but certainly test an in inconspicuous spot, and I never let the vinegar sit, I use it on a q-tip then I wipe it right up with a clean q-tip.

    Hi, could you please tell me how you define the surface on which you index the action to be sure it is horizontal and aligned with the median axis of the stock ? Thank you

      Generally speaking if the inlets are straight, with the way I do it using the bottom metal, the action really has no choice but to be horizontal with the stock. However, I have seen where they are not and I have a hand clamp with a level glued to it that I put on the butt of the stock. I use a good level across the forend, then place the clamp with level being sure not to move it, put a barrel clamp level on the barreled action and then just make sure it lines up after I tighten the action screws.

      @capersprecision2478 than you very much for having taken the time to reply. I have to bed a rem700SA in an HS stock, I'll keep in mind your explanation and use minimal contact point between the action and the aluminium bedding and clamps to align everything. I think I'm gonna go for probed 2000 kit.

    lol yeah, just something close, I have another video on more of the logistics of this process, anything in that 1.25 diameter

    And yes nothing is perfect, all we can do is stack tolerances

    I guess I will have to order a film canister.

      Haha, as ridiculous as it sounds I had literally cut hundreds of pieces of electrical relief tape with one canister, if I had a spare I’d send it to ya.

      @@capersprecision2478 Great bedding BTW. I think you can only ask so much out of some stocks, and I have spent many hours of life looking for that perfect diameter of whatever circle I need, but I have not seen a 35mm canister since 2007.

    Headless Bedding bolts and surgical tubing.....Way easier

    • @Swiftgilford
      @Swiftgilford 11 місяців тому

      how would that work? I'm assuming they'd just ensure the action is sitting in place properly as a "set pin"?

    • @roybertalotto6355
      @roybertalotto6355 11 місяців тому

      Exactly....With a few paper shims around the barrel to perfectly center it in the barrel channel....Not too tight on the surgical tubing.....@@Swiftgilford

    What are you using for vise jaw pads there?

    • @capersprecision2478
      @capersprecision2478  Рік тому

      That is fox jaw pads, modified, I milled out 2 holes in each for magnets, then epoxied rubber pads to the inside. Tilting jaw pads for parrot vise.

      Ok got to be honest, is that a typo, or did my accent catch up to me. Lol if not and that was a honest question, then yes it’s the easiest way I’ve found with over 20 years of doing it. Not saying it’s the absolute way, just the best and fastest way to do it…for me. If you have any questions I’m happy to help. Thanks for the comment.
