@@hashpipe710 My current case is a Themaltake level 10 GT, which at the time I built this computer was already not being made anymore. Would have loved to gotten a white version but that was rare to begin with. Great case still.
Jayz, one trick I learned in my building PCs Turn the box upside down, open the bottom flaps and then turn the right way around with the flaps all spread open, this will then let you lift the box off like a square tube.
Well...I think I found my new case. This thing is awesome. I'm really glad the increased the airflow compared to the Y60. Having that extra panel is just awesome. Great vid Jay!
Got a snow edition on pre-order, after watching every video I could find. One thing no one is really talking about is that the top rad bracket has at least 2 mounting positions, which will make it a lot easier to go with a custom loop with more than a 30mm thick rad. The big question is how much room is there up top, can you use a 60mm thick rad with push-pull, or just a single set of fans, how about a 45mm with P-P. I'd really like to go with a 60 up top and a 45 on the side, both with PP fan setup.
The GPU needs to be hung vertically at the back of the chassis so it's possible to install full sized PCIe cards. The whole half-hight expansion card deal is a non starter. We need a version with a conventional GPU placement option 🙂🤷♂️
I would love to see a case with a screen as the side panel, not just a small corner screen, but an actual full size screen. We wouldn't need to buy a 2nd screen for some basic stuff like this one can do, but it would also be better as it would be bigger, so we could play videos or music or chats on it and we could play games with our main monitor. Dang, it got me dreaming now!
They should make the half height and vertical height brackets changeable so that when you’re using a liquid cooled card, you can push it to the outer most edge and then change the cage of the half hight to full height so you still have all your access
Well this is designed solely for those Cartoons that think vertical mount GPU's are neato. Nice case in a few ways but far too niche' to be a practical money maker for Hyte.
That last line on the box is a reference to Daft Punk's "Touch" from Random Access Memories. I think it's actually a nice little easter egg, but I'm not so sure I like the implications with it being right under the waifu line...
Beautiful case. The screen is really neat, and I'm genuinely surprised someone didn't think of it sooner, considering this has been in vehicles for so long, and we can also remember the 5.25 bays with screens. The narrow PCI card slots is a deal breaker for me, though. They should just widen the case a couple of inches. Someone else will copycat their screen for larger towers, and I can get one then. Also, I still generally prefer my GPU to be horizontal, instead of vertical.
this case to me blows all the others out of the water i absolutely love love it and thanks again Jay for the amazing demonstration, and Phil with the epic as usual editing love you guys!!!
I was wondering when case manufacturers were going to make something like this. Although I think it's kinda overkill for the most part, the twitch chat thing is a really good idea. They should also include GPU controls like geforce experience or amd adrenaline so you can change settings or look at benchmarks.
GPU controls like that are only something extreme enthusiasts would use, normal folks never look at that nonsense as it's useless for 99% of applications.
@@animalyze7120 Home economics 101, balance and use what you need to and nothing more, I'm just a normal dad working a normal 40-60 hour career every week, I have a nice PC but i limit and micro managed my settings as to not use more power than necessary, being able to use that touch panel would have made my initial setup and configuration easier but not game changing. My theory is that 99% of us in the states aren't rich enough to avoid the current state of our economy, being able to manage what our PC's are doing and pulling from the wall is kinda cool, plus i think most people will endup either bot running a PC or fine tuning their lives to allow for a little R&R, I work hard and don't have much time day to day to play but when I do it's nice to be able to.
For the most part i do like the case design, but limiting your PCI expansion cards to half-height would be a deal breaker for me. I was really surprised to see how high the resolution was for that side panel. Pretty impressive, really.
honestly outside of a capture card which is mostly streamer centric I can't think of a single expansion card that general computer user has outside of a gpu these days.
@nucphyschem1 I always have a sound card. People don't always prioritize sound quality or even realize how bad onboard audio is compared to having a good dedicated sound card. I've always had 5.1 or 7.1 home theater speakers connected to my pc. Gaming and playing music is a lot more enjoyable with surround sound
@@brianm2578 that's fair but I would argue that's fairly niche comparatively in this day and age. I would actually argue triple screen or quad screen setups would represent a larger percentage than the sound card community
I can't tell if the Y70 has it from any of the angles seen in the build montage, but the Y60 has an extra, undocumented 2.5" drive mount that I discovered while doing my build last year. If you take out the 3.5" drive sleds and look at the support collar (or whatever you'd call that metal shroud surrounding the hole they go in), there are two holes in the side that's facing toward the side panel, and they happen to be spaced exactly the same as the front and rear screw holes on a 2.5" drive. So, with a stubby screwdriver and two screws, you can mount a 2.5" drive vertically to that collar before sliding the drive sleds back in, and there's enough clearance for everything to fit without scraping or scratching anything. There may also be a another similar pair of holes on the inner side of the collar, facing the motherboard, but I can't tell from any of the photos I can find and I'm not about to disassemble mine to find out for sure.
Huge shout-out to HYTE for finally making a case for the 21st century, and allowing Jay and his team to display this amazingly innovative product 5 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 rating
I have a PCIe WiGig card for my HTC Vive Pro and I had to modify it with a custom low profile PCIe bracket because this card was never built for low profile and there is no optional bracket available. Was pretty proud of the mod honestly. It looks great and works just like the original.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the "Touch, Sweet touch" line on the box is from a Daft Punk track .... called wait for it... Touch on the Random Access Memories album.
@hytebrand this case has my attention. That's saying a lot. My current pc is in a Thermaltake Core X71, and it has served me very well, but it is aggregiously large. I like the screen panel a lot. Many use possibilities.
Jay, I binged all of your skunkworks videos and I absolutely love the Caselabs SM8. I wish I could buy one. I love that the case has a basement compartment and all the room you'd ever need for whatever you wanna do and is incredibly modular. I hope this next revision of Skunkworks is amazing and best of luck to you
Love this case - it is so original and beautiful looking. I have used my own 10" monitor to display temps and loads but I think what is killer on this case is the software for their panel. Beautifully done. Something to consider in the future.
Apparently it doesn't let you post links. Yes you can do this with UP Deck. It has a web-interface that you can basically load a popup window with buttons that interact with the software as well as with your ios/android device like normal. But since it's in a popup window, you could totally move it over, resize and set the columns and rows you want, and just maximize it on the other 'monitor' which would be this. Totally doable. I use an old iPhone 6S for this purpose right now and since it's useless for anything else, it's perfect for this.
I would love a y60/y70 style case that was as big as an O11D Evo XL. I really like the touch screen and beveled corner but I've made up my mind to do a triple 420 rad build on my next case. I want to go all out and never have before.
Ive seen other videos on this and while it is a cool concept and all, i dont really see it as legitimately practical. I mean, in order to use the screen to its fullest, you need to be within arms reach of it. Which means you are going have the pc closer to you. Which then means, depending on your cooling solution, you are going to hear and have to deal with the noise of the pc as it is now closer to you. I mean, one of the perks of it is seeing twitch chat, but if you are a streamer and that pc is now closer to you, you are going to have to jump through some hoops to either reroute your mic or EQ the sound of your pc out
I think it “could” definitely be practical for a few who would take full advantage of it…personally I would have pc info and the rest would be anime pics, lol.
if you are paying this much money on a case there is absolutely no feasible way the fans you are using fans that would be loud enough to bother you while gaming, my pc is within arms reach and with open back headphones my game audio drowns out any sound that comes from my pc, even with speakers, plus with how many people game with closed back and iems that issue is non existent for streamers, if you are thinking of buying such an expensive case before a quality mic setup that ONLY picks up your voice then you have your priorities all wrong, i have a dynamic mic with a goxlr mini and even with my pc fans at 100% plus game audio coming out of my speakers my mic still doesnt pick any of it up, even with an eq that should make pc fans louder so in short, if you are spending 400 dollars on a pc CASE then it would be impressive if every other piece of your setup isnt top quality and the limiting factor would be the size of your room so you can then have a big enough desk to put it on
I doubt they will even code a version of their software for Linux due to the focus on gaming which is basically still all Windows. that said since its just a screen, depending on how it works as a touch screen its quite possible one might still be able to get both the display and touch functionality in Linux. That is, is the touch something purely Hyte or is it just a generic LCD touch screen as I know Linux can use touch screens.
i always thought it would be super cool to have a display built into the case. imagine if the whole side panel was a 16:9 display. would have been dope back in the lanparty days
I've moved my case to the floor as far away as I could get it due to coil whine. I'm not sure I'll ever build in a case designed to be on my desk or at ear height until GPU/PSU makers figure out how to get rid of coil whine entirely.
protip: limit your fps in software to whatever your monitor refresh rate is. I notised that I had coilwhine in a simple 2d game cause just menu pulled something like 2k fps :D. Whine went away when I hard capped it to 144
you can reduce coil whine if by undervolting your graphics card and limiting your framerate. if youre willing to open up your card, using a bit of low viscosity cryanoacrylate superglue (loctite) in between the coil chokes & and letting it cure for an hour can reduce the noise substantially. my card is super quiet as of late
Hey Jay, the "Touch... Sweet touch..." quote is a reference to the song 'Touch' by Daft Punk and Paul Williams. It's on Daft Punk's album Random Access Memories. If you listen to the song, the reference and it's relation to this product may make more sense.
Regarding "someone in the company likes wifus" Hyte has had collaborations with a mayor Vtuber company (Hololive), even launched some special versions of cases of this design, so its not only very suitable, they already have market to sell the display separately to those folks that already have a waifu hyte pc
This is actually pretty exciting, sure HYTE may have built some good software for the panel, but i can't wait to see what the community does with it! , i'm also hooping they'll sell the panel as an upgrade for the Y60, just so i don't have to change my whole case for it :)
They have a Y60 LCD DIY Kit listed on their website, but it's OOS. It's listed at $150 and you have to 3d print your own mount. There's a video on Hyte's YT channel on how to install it as well.
@@tsuzot8192 yeah i had noticed that, but with the y70 they have the whole panel as one unit (rather than as an add-on) and it's 4k and touch screen, which is a huge upgrade on the 1080p LCD screen. i would imagine the new Panel on the y70 could be compatible with the y60 as it's part of the case that doesn't appear to have changed in dimension
Just bare in mind the actual screen is slightly smaller on the Y70 due to the frame surround - 15.1" for the Y60 screen and 14.1" on the Y70@@TheHarleyEvans
So at the price I feel like i would have done somethings different even if it cost more. First I would have gone transparent OLED. Clue how much that would cost but at $350 on a case I feel like who cares how much more expensive it is since at that point I am paying for aesthtics. Next I would want a distro plate. I also would have done the sensor panel in a way so that it wasn't a display but something with it's own board that talked with the PC to get the data rather than something run by the GPU.
so many people were buying the screens off Amazon and ebay for $100CDN that they made the cutout in the window for them lol. that's cool. although you can't use the touch feature, can also just 3d print something for any case that has a window i.e. over PSU shroud, onto any dual 120mm fan mounts, etc... all they are is is a second monitor, so can have Wallpaper Engine and/or AIDA64 going on it. good they improved the airflow of their old design
That panel, would actually be super useful for any build without being part of a case. Just, a little touch screen display to put under the centre monitor. Or even attach on the side of a monitor.
This is one of those times where I’m annoyed because I just built my pc in the Y60 white a few months ago and with all the small improvements I’m seeing in the Y70 I’m mad that I want to go through the effort of tearing my pc apart to rebuild it in this
Beautiful case! Sadly it seems that my preferred webshop currently only has the black version with red accents listed. I hope by the time I get to build a new pc the white version is readily available
I've been buying oddly sized touch screens to fit in or on PC for a couple of years... yes I know no reasaon to put a touch screen inside of a pc, but it does give an extra level of protection to the screen from being scratched. Putting a touch screen on a panel of tempered glass is DAMN easy if you own the right drill bits. *Here's How;* lay the glass flat, make a ring around where you're going to drill with pudy & fill it with cold water, only needs to be 1/8 of an inch deep. Then using your smallest drill bit made for glass, drill your hole with very very little pressure, less then the weight of the drill & repeat with larger drill bits until you reach the size hole you need. Keeping you pool filled with water, there are two ways, *First Way* keep pouring water to fill the pool while trying to dill, *Second Way* by using duct tape to attach a plastic cup to the other side of the glass, & use the pudy to make it leak proof. I tape from the bottom of the cup to the glass so I can get my hands in there to apply the pudy, if you have no leaks your pool will stay filled. Collect ALL of the water with the glass dust & dispose of this water as if it was poison because it is. I use a coke soda plastic bottle with a lid & toss it in the garbage to either be incinerated or head to the land fill. I know my trash is incinerated, so it get melted down & becomes safe. In 20 years you do NOT want to die from having glass dust in your lungs. *Wear the needed safety gear for handling glass dust, along with goggles, gloves, & a respirator ... and keep kids & pets the hell away.* I work on top of cardboard box opened up & flat, & any drops of glass dust water lands on the cardboard I cover with duct tape, if it lands on the floor I wet vac it up. And I toss the cardboard out in the trash as soon as I am done. And I do not stop a job once I start, kids, pets, wife never understand NOT TO TOUCH ... this is why men need a garage with doors that lock. And make sure no metal touches the glass, I use soft plastic or rubber washers with the right sized standoffs as needed to space the display away from the glass, & nylon bolts through the holes in the glass. Over size the holes so the threads do not touch, & for thermal expansion of the glass. And install a single board computer to run the led/oled panel ... this way you can keep it running at all times without spending big bucks on your power bill. A use Raspberry Pi 4, on my own PC I'll be witching over to RPi 5 when it comes in the mail in the next couple of weeks. I connect the RPi4 to the PC by WiFi ... & when my PC is off I have it get weather/time/alarm clock/reminders/cameras using MotionEye ..etc I even have the RPi connect to my full sized monitor for things like surfing the web, emails, watching youtube, etc. BTW properly bend glass tubing in a water cooled PC ... nothing looks better. Oh, and make sure you can buy a replacement glass panel before you start, to much pressure while drilling, or your tightened one of your bolts down to hard & it will shatter in 100s of tiny cubes.
I may end up buying this case, BUT I WOULD LOVE IT if they made it reversed/reversible so that I can have the case on my left instead of right. Blue/green case coloring too would be extra nice!!!
I modified my Y60 in every conceivable way. They addressed all the issues except for one. Which is My guess for the new additional mod that they are working on. A riser for the top to accommodate room for a push pull fan configuration on the AIO. I had to have mine 3D printed.
Now I want to see if I can get just this panel and put it on the Y60 case used for the Hololive Collab, like Bae's or Kronii's case, that would be awesome to have this added to it.... I've found my new dream case
I want to say the extra screen is impractical, but it could honestly be a great productivity boost if you’re using it for extra references or apps. It’s like having a tablet integrated into your system. I can easily see that type of screen becoming standard for high-end cases.
I would definitely want a display like that. That thing is amazing. Either that or find a way to connect tablets and/or smart phones, to help prevent them from becoming e-trash.
Awesome looking case, I didn't see anything listed on their site but it would be icing on the cake if they supported Linux based operating systems with their software for the panel or even designing their own controller that wouldn't need to run on the system or use the panel as a second display as an option.

Would love to see a custom water loop build in this.
@17:40 [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Del] for task manager? What year is it? [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc] is the new hotness.
Well...I think I found my new case. This thing is awesome. I'm really glad the increased the airflow compared to the Y60. Having that extra panel is just awesome. Great vid Jay!
I'me with you. I'll buy this as soon as it comes available in the UK.
rush rush ruuuuuush to give them 400 bux so you can open file explorer or have a screensaver on it lol@@ghosthorse77
That display is sick! I just built a new rig but that case got me thinking for real.
OK that case is freaking Awesome! I haven't built a personal rig in over 10 years. This would be a fun chassis!
They should make the half height and vertical height brackets changeable so that when you’re using a liquid cooled card, you can push it to the outer most edge and then change the cage of the half hight to full height so you still have all your access
That's probably patented since the only brand that I know that do that is lian li...
People have been DIY'ing a screen onto that portion of the Y60 for a couple years now. It's nothing new. 🙄
@@serious.business yeah, for many years people have been modding many things, lmao
nice!! I'm currently case shopping and the y70 just pushed up to the top of my list.
Did you get one?......I have just got the Y70 Touch in Black & White Panda colour way. 😊
this case to me blows all the others out of the water i absolutely love love it and thanks again Jay for the amazing demonstration, and Phil with the epic as usual editing love you guys!!!
i bought the y60 3 weeks before they came out with the y70, i like the y60 but they fixed everything i dont like about it in the y70.
I was wondering when case manufacturers were going to make something like this. Although I think it's kinda overkill for the most part, the twitch chat thing is a really good idea. They should also include GPU controls like geforce experience or amd adrenaline so you can change settings or look at benchmarks.
You could always open Afterburner and drop the window in that monitor...

"touch sweet touch, youve almost convinced me i'm real" ~ daft punk - Touch. love this song
For the most part i do like the case design, but limiting your PCI expansion cards to half-height would be a deal breaker for me. I was really surprised to see how high the resolution was for that side panel. Pretty impressive, really.
I guess 90% of the people won't ever use additional pci slots anyway
honestly outside of a capture card which is mostly streamer centric I can't think of a single expansion card that general computer user has outside of a gpu these days.
@@brianm2578 have you heard about DACs?
It’s so cool but damn the $400 price tag is ROUGH. Also that line on the box is a lyric from a Daft Punk/Paul Williams song.
you have been the first to catch onto the lyric 💛
@@hytebrandyou could reward me with one of these amazing cases! 😂❤ love the reference, Hyte team
Jay, I love that I just finished my Y-60 build and this comes out no more than 1 week later. Lol. It's already time to upgrade. 😂
Glad to see they improved the airflow! One of the reasons why I went with the Phanteks NV5. Much harder choice now.
I didn't think the airflow was bad at all in the 60. I sit at around 30 Celsius at rest and 45ish under load.
The front side fans look much better with a triple fan set up this case and the y60 are making me want to build
Sweet Touch. Daft Punk reference lol
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the "Touch, Sweet touch" line on the box is from a Daft Punk track .... called wait for it... Touch on the Random Access Memories album.
I'm considering a Hyte case for my next build.
i am too
@hytebrand this case has my attention. That's saying a lot. My current pc is in a Thermaltake Core X71, and it has served me very well, but it is aggregiously large. I like the screen panel a lot. Many use possibilities.
Seems cool and versatile. Also seems like the best candidate burn-in more than any other screen application I can think of.
Jay, I binged all of your skunkworks videos and I absolutely love the Caselabs SM8. I wish I could buy one. I love that the case has a basement compartment and all the room you'd ever need for whatever you wanna do and is incredibly modular. I hope this next revision of Skunkworks is amazing and best of luck to you
if you want a case like that then the Lian Li V3000 plus is a great equivalent
@@MikeZak101 Or 1000D
Love this case - it is so original and beautiful looking. I have used my own 10" monitor to display temps and loads but I think what is killer on this case is the software for their panel. Beautifully done. Something to consider in the future.
if the price goes down to like 150 sure... 400 bux ill definately pass
I wonder if you could make that touch screen basically an in-built streamdeck of sorts?
It's monitor, find the app that will do that and yes.
that would be even a cheaper option then the streamdeck itself.. damn nice idea
Good idea 🤔

I would love a y60/y70 style case that was as big as an O11D Evo XL. I really like the touch screen and beveled corner but I've made up my mind to do a triple 420 rad build on my next case. I want to go all out and never have before.
Great review Jay! Thank you for all the hard work you've done. And yes.... we're all waifu fans here 👀
Sick case!
We need more like Hyte and Yeston
Will you make a cheaper version of the y70 without the screen? I love the Y60 but it is too small for my GPU.
Can't wait for mine to get to my house! I am glad that the y60 was out of stock last year when I built my latest PC because this model is far better.
I mean, one of the perks of it is seeing twitch chat, but if you are a streamer and that pc is now closer to you, you are going to have to jump through some hoops to either reroute your mic or EQ the sound of your pc out
I think it “could” definitely be practical for a few who would take full advantage of it…personally I would have pc info and the rest would be anime pics, lol.
if you are paying this much money on a case there is absolutely no feasible way the fans you are using fans that would be loud enough to bother you while gaming, my pc is within arms reach and with open back headphones my game audio drowns out any sound that comes from my pc, even with speakers, plus with how many people game with closed back and iems that issue is non existent
for streamers, if you are thinking of buying such an expensive case before a quality mic setup that ONLY picks up your voice then you have your priorities all wrong, i have a dynamic mic with a goxlr mini and even with my pc fans at 100% plus game audio coming out of my speakers my mic still doesnt pick any of it up, even with an eq that should make pc fans louder
so in short, if you are spending 400 dollars on a pc CASE then it would be impressive if every other piece of your setup isnt top quality and the limiting factor would be the size of your room so you can then have a big enough desk to put it on
My pc is literally right next to me. I would love this.
Daft Punk reference is dope
This case looks sick! When I'm doing my 50 series build I might consider this as long as it plays nicely with Linux
It doesn’t look “sick”. Use proper terminology. The proper term is “It looks great!”.
This case looks Gnarly :)
i always thought it would be super cool to have a display built into the case. imagine if the whole side panel was a 16:9 display. would have been dope back in the lanparty days
I've moved my case to the floor as far away as I could get it due to coil whine. I'm not sure I'll ever build in a case designed to be on my desk or at ear height until GPU/PSU makers figure out how to get rid of coil whine entirely.
What games are you playing?
I can't hear any coil whine over the sound of my GPU fans.
I use Headphones when I game I don't hear anything n when I'm not gaming pc is always quiet.
protip: limit your fps in software to whatever your monitor refresh rate is.
I'm not far down that rabbit hole however if they did a Risu Y70 Isekai'n cars in UTS I'm all in.
i like when you do an actual build in a case that you are showing off, gives the full effect.
“Hooping” eh? 😂😂😂😂
that case is probably the coolest one I've seen in decades, a build in the red one would be awesome
I got the Y60 a few months ago, now this. 🙄 Of course I'm going to have to get it, damn it. I thought I'd have the Y60 for a few years.
You can tell he was really impressed and got excited cuz he was twitching so much 😂😂
so many people were buying the screens off Amazon and ebay for $100CDN that they made the cutout in the window for them lol. that's cool. although you can't use the touch feature, can also just 3d print something for any case that has a window i.e. over PSU shroud, onto any dual 120mm fan mounts, etc... all they are is is a second monitor, so can have Wallpaper Engine and/or AIDA64 going on it. good they improved the airflow of their old design
@12:48 Airplane mode exists. For when you need to fidget with your Desktop cases built iin display while it's plugged iin during a flight.
This looks dope as hell. I would love to build in this case
100% agree about the separate sale. i love my 011 Evo (like every other basic builder XD) and this screen would really accent it well.
This one is really cool
Touch, sweet touch, youve almost convinced me im real.

I have a Y60. Now I want this.
I would definitely want a display like that. That thing is amazing. Either that or find a way to connect tablets and/or smart phones, to help prevent them from becoming e-trash.
I have to admit, it's useful enough that if I had extra money to spend I would consider getting that display.
Awesome looking case, I didn't see anything listed on their site but it would be icing on the cake if they supported Linux based operating systems with their software for the panel or even designing their own controller that wouldn't need to run on the system or use the panel as a second display as an option.
